I had high hopes for this place and have been looking forward to eating here since it soft opened. The food was as expected. Which isn't a bad thing. Thus the average rating. We also spent 3 hours there for a 3 course meal. It doesn't take an hour a course unless the kitchen messes up in basically each table or there is no prep work. The staff was great. Primary reason was just based on the time spent and the food being average. I didn't even mind the 4% credit card usage since I researched before entering.

We had the 5 course chef table experience with wine tasting for my birthday. I would 100% recommend. Steven was our server and he was amazing. The food was delicious and the chef was so nice. She came out for each course and explained the plate. We were there for about 3 hours which was a great amount of time to eat, drink and chat comfortably. I will be back!

Went for a lovely night out with my lady. The atmosphere was nice and we enjoyed the decor. My lady ordered the lamb chops meal and caesar salad while I ordered the much simpler shrimp. We both enjoyed our meals. The prices are a little on the high side but it was worth the experience.

This place is very cool and creative. The way they present food is so unique! They had a cool live band playing. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. Everyone is happy to help and smiling. Our waitress Destiny was a gem. Sweet, friendly and helpful. L second time we went Maurice waited on us. I love Maurice! The absolute best. The rib eye was good but a little too fatty. Caesar salad and shrimp appetizer were good. Burger was good. The added sweetness from the candied bacon is a game changer! Fingerling Parmesan potatoes were more like potato wedges but good. The menu is on a tablet. The bread pudding was delicious! Tomahawk steak was delicious and the best sweet potato mash I’ve ever had. Fish tacos she came was good tooThe food isn’t the best I’ve ever had but the experience was unmatched. The drinks were good. Pretty strong if that’s what you like. Kinda pricey tho.

The Chef’s Table was hands down the best experience ever. Chef Matthew’s 5 course experience was imaginative yet yummy 😋. The animated video playing between courses was corny but entertaining. That butter cake 🤤😋 . Steven was the best server ever… thanks for recommending the French Vodka

I was part of a group of people celebrating a wedding. And although I've walked by the restaurant before, I've never been inside. From the moment I stepped in, it was an amazing experience. The decor is interesting and invites a sense of calm and serenity. The staff at every level were extremely accommodating and friendly. And when it came to the food absolutely over the top. The chef came out and spoke with us. All in all. It was one of the very best restaurant experiences I've had in many years. It's the perfect place to celebrate and if you have nothing else to celebrate, celebrate yourself. I noticed that they have a Sunday brunch. I will definitely make that one of these days. Well done everyone involved.

We came for dinner celebrating our anniversary. The service was great. The food was even better. The presentation of the entrees was top notch. Chef Dwayne came and spoke to us thanking us for coming and we thanked him for having us. Will come again.

We had a fabulous experience at ImaginAte in Royal Oak. We were there to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary and Chef Dwayne and our server ( who I shouldn’t have forgotten her name sorry) made sure we had a great time. Chef Dwayne even came to our table to introduce himself and made sure we had something special for our anniversary. Food was served promptly and beautifully presented. The flavors were spot on on every dish. The seasoning on the salmon was delicious!!! Thank you Chef Dwayne and staff for making us feel special in such and special day for us!!!!

Food was amazing & the service is spectacular. We are vegetarian and the owners came to our table to curate an all veggie meal for my wife and I. Wonderful experience over all. We will be back tomorrow to check the nightclub vibes.

Had a great experience here. The ambiance is very relaxing yet whimsically done. The wait staff was amazing and very knowledgeable. The chef came out and was very professional as well as knowledgeable. It was a packed house when we came and the vibes were just all around great. I had the salmon which was absolutely delicious. My sister had the steak and said it was the best steak she's had. We shared the Mac and cheese (it's a nice size) served in cast iron and was perfectly browned on top. Bottom line I will definitely be back to support this establishment. Oh, did I mention it's black owned?!? Makes me that much more inclined to return again.

Zack was an amazing server and the manager delighted us with sincere conversation. My birthday was so special and everyone had authentic and beautiful energy! I loved the experience here. The food was amazing and my vegetarian dish was so filling. Amazing presentation and all around wonderful experience! We will be back.

This place is a total Miami vibe, super cute and selfie worth business. Low lights , white sheet decor , floral decor , it’s beautiful. Latoya was my waitress and she was a dream . Super nice and helpful ! Love music after like 530 . Perfect for a night out with the girls

Had a wonderful experience here for my anniversary. The live band in the back was so soothing and the food was excellent. Very flavorful and the themes of each meal was very imaginative. Not your every day restaurant in a good way. If you are looking for a new restaurant with a great ambiance, this is the one.

This was my first time here and walking in the place looks very chic and beautiful. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Our server was knowledgeable about the food and offered suggestions from the menu. The food was amazing. Every dish that came to the table looked amazing. I ordered the fish and chips and it was delicious!!!

Brought a group of 8 to dinner, first time for everyone and the experience was remarkable. Great food, and even better service. Everyone was very personable, the head chef even came out to check how the food was. Will definitely be back. We had the salmon, ribs, oysters, chicken, Mac & cheese, and a bunch of other dishes and everything was great.

Our experience at ImaginATE was amazing. My girlfriend and I went for our anniversary and LaToya was our waitress and she made us feel special from the moment we sat down. The food was amazing and was plated inventively. I had the short rib and it was better than any I’ve had before. Chef Dwayne came out and spoke with us and explained our dishes, he is an extremely kind man who gave us a free desert for our anniversary! Overall it was a 10/10 experience and we will absolutely be back.

We were looking for a new fine dining experience for our anniversary dinner and found Imaginate. I will say, I was a bit skeptical based on reviews from another site, but I am glad we didn’t let that stop us. While the restaurant was extremely slow, our server Latoya was amazing. She had great drink and food recommendations and she was very nice and attentive. While the food was good, I do have to say it is a bit overpriced. Our group had meatballs, popcorn shrimp, salmon, short rib, scallops, and burger. But for a special occasion and the experience, we didn’t mind the price. Unfortunately, since they have been slow they didn’t have live music or valet, but thankfully there was an open parking spot close to the door and metered parking is free on Sundays. Overall great experience and would go back again.

The food was phenomenal & very creative. The food is served in unique/fun plating that you wouldn’t imagine coming to your table. They have a rotating menu that was to die for as well. Chef Dwayne does an amazing job & then some! Inside is beautiful with chandeliers & mood lighting. We will definitely be back!

Steven was our server and he was amazing! The props and presentation of the dishes definitely set this restaurant apart from the others. The cobra ice that they added to my Imaginate Old Fashioned was also a nice touch!

Came for happy hour. Was greeted by Tyron upon entrance and decided to sit at the bar! Bartender Maurice welcomed us and was Very nice. Everyone welcomed us. Ordered the HH Lemon Drop. This Drink pour was onnnnnn point! Had 2. Chef Big Tim came out and introduced himself. He explained the menu to my sister and I. His description of the food was so good, we ordered 1 of every happy hour menu item to share. Food service was prompt and pretty. Lemon pepper chicken wings were tasty. Fries were good and hot. Spring rolls were delicious. Sliders were good but the bun was a lot. Would be better if bun was toasted. Fish tacos were everything. Crunchy taco shell with hot flavorful fish. So good! Great location, beautiful restaurant with great Customer service! Presentation of the food added that extra flare and was nice. The food was good! Overall great 1st experience for Happy hour. Highly recommended!

Absolutely amazing food and service. Went here for dinner to celebrate my dad’s birthday, and we were blown away by the food + presentation and overall vibes. This place is perfect for special occasions. I suggest dressing up and making the most of it. Favorite foods were the Asian flare nachos, mac & cheese, Brussels sprouts, French onion soup, and the ribeye.

It's more than just a place to eat, it's a night out and a unique experience. It's a small cut of South Beach tastefully nestled into Detroit. A great place for a date or even hosting clients. The staff provide an experience that makes you want to keep coming back.

I went on a date on a Friday evening. There was live music, super fast and efficient service, and an upscale feel. This was my second time visiting and I’m glad to see this black owned business thrive. Dina was our waitress, and she was great.

This was our first time there, and all I can say is that food and the service were indescribable! I can't put into words how AMAZINGLY PHENOMENAL our service and food was!! We had the pleasure of having TYRON as our server and he went above and beyond and was an absolute enjoy to speak with. He even came over and gave my friend and I, a special toast speak. The food... *CHEFS KISS* I have NEVER been to a restaurant where I have enjoyed every LAST bit of my food! The food is WELL seasoned with a LOT of flavor, the portions are PERFECT, and the House wine Blueberry Chardonnay (I think) was FANTASTIC! I hope they bottle that stuff, so I can bring it home to enjoy! I want to add how cute and fun the dishes were carried out to us. I give ImaginATE a 10 out of 10! I WILL be going back!!

I went here for dinner with my colleagues one evening and we had a spectacular time. We sat at the Chefs Table, so we were thoroughly entertained by Le Petit Chef while we waited for each course of our 5 course dinner. Steven and Latoya were our servers and they did an excellent job. Tended to our every need! Superb customer service/hospitality. I believe Candace was the chef on the evening we dined and the food was delicious! This is a black owned, fine dining restaurant and I am very pleased! I will definitely be back and I will be spreading the word about this place to others!
