Yoga Shelter was so welcoming for my first time trying out Yoga! They made me feel comfortable and helped me keep up. The class was amazing, very well taught, our instructor was both calming and funny. Overall great experience and I can't wait to go back!

My first class of yoga was with perry and although i knew id have trouble following along with poses, perry was subtle and discrete with correcting me without singling me out during class. My second class made it clear this was a teacher that is attentive to his students and yoga is something I definitely want to bring into my daily life. Thanks for the quick tips perry, loved the class ill be sure to come back!!!

I've been going to yoga shelter for the past two weeks and I've tried a variety of classes. Overall great experience. I like that there are a variety of yoga classes throughout the day and they offer classes as late as 8:30 p.m which fits my schedule. Staff is very friendly and welcoming, teachers are very supportive and knowledgeable. I like the positivity and energy I get from every class.

Yoga Shelter was recommended to me by a friend. Classes here will really get your heart rate up and leave you feeling like you had a great workout. Each class and instructor has a distinct feel so I've enjoyed taking classes with different instructors. Some leave you feeling especially peaceful and centered, others offer helpful corrections; all are enjoyable for different reasons.

Yoga Shelter RO is an amazing studio. I love the rustic, earthy feeling. It is worn in all the best ways. It feels so good as soon as you step inside. The teachers and staff are wonderful. There is a a very warm, inviting, down to earth approach that Yoga Shelter takes on. Everyone is welcome and the classes are awesome!

I am new to the practice of Yoga. The Yoga Shelter was my first experience ever and it was amazing! The staff is very hospitable. I was able to join right in for my first session. Becky was amazing and easy to follow. I am looking forward to going again (today) and signing up for a package so I can continue to grow in my practice. Thank you for making Yoga an accessible part of my life!

I signed up about two weeks ago at the Yoga Shelter in Royal Oak. My very first encounter was pleasant and I was made to feel very welcomed. I have never practiced yoga before and each teacher I’ve had has been more than helpful. The staff at the desk assisted me in finding a mat that works for me. This small yoga studio has such an amazing and peaceful atmosphere. I’ve gone into the studio feeling off but every time I leave I feel a sense of calm and relaxation. If you are looking for a place to practice yoga that is centered around your mental well being....the yoga shelter is the place to go!

Yoga Shelter Royal Oak is one of my favorite places to practice. The location is convenient and easy to find. Staff are incredibly friendly and warm. Instructors are willing to help and answer questions before, after, and during class, which makes this a great place for either someone new to yoga or a seasoned yogi. Every class has offered a new challenge—so you'll never have to worry about classes getting monotonous!

I have practice with the Yoga Shelter for the past seven years and when they opened Woodward corners I was enthusiastic about practicing in a different location. My first experience with Woodward corners was practicing outside in the rain garden, which was both challenging and exciting at the same time. Now that we are able to move indoors, the management at the Yoga Shelter has taken every precaution for the safety and well-being of our yoga community. I split my practice between Woodward corners and the downtown Royal Oak location, I feel like I’m cheating on one location when I go to the other, LOL but the same yoga community practices at both locations. If you haven’t tried Yoga Shelter‘s Woodward corners location you should give it a try, you won’t regret it.

I have been coming to the studio since 2017. Being a part of this yoga community has elevated my practice and enhanced my life in countless ways! I’ve made so many meaningful connections and been shored up thru the vicissitudes of life in particular the pandemic. As an empty nester and a part time worker I rely on my practice to fill the void! I’m so grateful to the amazing instructors for their passion and devotion. It’s exciting to see the studio attract new students. Everyone should have yoga in their lives💕

I've gone here a handful of times now, and I always leave with a smile on after the sessions. This studio offers a range of different types of yoga, so you have the option of just going to stretch, or going to get in a good cardio workout. All the instructors I've had here so far have given me some new perspective and some aspect of yoga. And with as many instructors as The Yoga Shelter has, you always have options of different teaching styles.

A beautiful space. Welcoming and inclusive staff, teachers, and students. There seems to be set guidelines for difficulty depending upon the class name (guided flow, vinyasa flow) so you don’t randomly end up in a class that’s way easier or way harder than what you had expected just by trying a new teacher. The teachers are supportive without being overbearing -you can chose a variation of a pose that you feel is right for you at any. Thank you to all the wonderful teachers I had a pleasure of meeting so far!

Amazing first yoga studio experience, I’m not from here, I’m from Kansas just visiting and I can’t say enough good things. Laura was incredible. The vibe, immaculate. The people, immaculate. 10/10 would recommend (:

Yoga Shelter felt like home immediately. I've tried a few yoga studios and instantly felt welcome at Yoga Shelter. The teachers are welcoming, knowledgeable and always have an adjustment if poses don't work as directed. The community that Yoga Shelter has cultivated is so authentic. I love it here!
