A lovely cafe in pleasant surroundings. Built onto a church which now houses an antique shop. The waitress was knowledgeable about cross contamination regarding gluten free options. Most of the menu could be adapted to gluten free.

Just had a lovely day at Holden Wood. We're regular visitors to the impressive antique centre but have not eaten in the cafe before. Excellent friendly service from the start, food really tasty, with a great selection of fresh cakes. We'll certainly be visiting again very soon.

Came here to have some coins my late father had valued and have lunch. There were three of us. Holden Wood antiques is in an old church, out was a cold day in December but the building was nice and warm. Lunch We left the coins to be valued and went for something to eat at the attached tea rooms. There were no free tables so we we're given a buzzer device to sort us when a table was free. That have is time to look around both floors. It took a while to be seated but it was well worth the wait. We ordered salt and pepper chips loaded with southern fried chicken, a full English breakfast and soup and a sandwich. Average cost was £10, portion sizes were good to generous 2 clean plates (too many chips). What made the meal was the service, efficient, friendly and enjoyable cheeky. We enjoyed the banter. Also I had an Americano. Lovely coffee. Definitely somewhere to visit again. Antiques The coins were valued by John who was friendly. There was no 'hard sell' or pressure on us. We had an interesting and informative chat about the coins. We decided to sell. We also found a piece we liked and we got a discount on it. I would be happy to come back as a seller or buyer.

Friendly little antique place on a couple of floors with a good range of items from jewellery to some smaller pieces of furniture. Set in lovely countryside and blessed with an excellent & rather popular little restaurant on site serving a range of food much using local produce.

Nice Antique Centre with tea rooms, if you wish to dine I should pre book table as it gets very busy. But it was worth the 40-minute wait as the food was excellent.

This is one of the better antique centres that has lots of choice to suit all pockets, and has enough room to be able to walk round without stock encroaching on your space. The highlight, for me, was the cafe. Excellent staff, welcoming, helpful, professional and with a sense of humour. The cafe was clean, and again, enough room to walk between the tables. The food topped of our visit - it was extremely tasty. I would recommend Holden Wood to anyone who likes antiques, or just wants to pop into the cafe.

Really nice tea room in a lovely setting, and 2 floors of antiques to look at.

Cool place to visit. Some stuff is very good, others overpriced or worth more to some than others. I didn't go to the cafe.

Lovely menu and excellent food at great prices. Service was friendly and efficient, and we were made to feel welcome. Highly recommended!

A tea room should pride itself on its scones and they were not fresh, that being said - the rest of the afternoon tea was delightful and plentiful, with refills of tea and filter coffee included. This is a busy little spot, we checked in when we arrived and they had no room but we called back they squeezed us in. The sandwiches, side salad, little soup sampler and choice of cake from the counter were absolutely delicious (shame about the scones).

Second time we've visited now. It's about hour and a quarter drive for us. But well worth the drive. Fantastic range of items, at prices to suit everyone. Well set out, well organised. Full definitely, but unlike some places not an issue as regards looking at things. Good access all round the floor. The staff we have spoken to on both visits have been helpful and friendly. The tearoom/restaurant is excellent. Loads of choice. The food is very very good. Staff very nice and friendly, and efficient. A really nice place to eat. Carpark is fairly big, maybe a little tight in some spaces. But not much of an issue. There is steps in one entrance, and inside because its been a church there are steps on the ground floor. But very well marked it has to be said. I would definitely recommend a visit either to the antique shop or tearoom, or both.

We finally came to the Holden Wood tea room, having driven past it so many times, saying we needed to try it! It was Great Gran's birthday lunch, and the food was lovely as well as the service. I had the salt and pepper loaded chips with pigs in blankets 😋 (as amazing as it sounds). Craig, who served us, was extremely friendly and happy and just enhanced our visit. We will definitely be back.

We spent a good afternoon exploring this place, full of interesting objects, being an antique myself, there were many things I had forgotten even existed. Many blasts from the past & worth a visit in the present.

Plenty of things from antique furniture to bits and bobs in cabinets for sure you will fancy something at everyone’s budget then you can grab a sit down in the coffee shop through the way to ponder what to buy next Gmp cars were dropping a car off and stopped along the way for a quick look around and spotted a few things 👌and passed the word around to a few Peaple to pop over for a look 👌

Lovely antique place spread over 2 floors. Some things are a bit pricey Iv been visiting there over the last 12 months and some of the stuff is still there unsold. Cafe is always very busy had a few lovely meals. Lovely views. Very limited parking space tho.

Lovely lunch, quality food and beverages and friendly helpful staff. See if you can walk out without trying one of their homemade cakes! It is a very popular place at lunchtime so would recommend booking. A walk around the Antiques before or after makes for a nostalgic journey to round off your visit.

An excellent place to browse & buy antiques, books & collectibles. In a beautiful setting. With opportunity for a drink & something to eat too.

Lovely place for afternoon tea, parking can be horrendous as it’s a small car park, easily solved if you park in the pub car park next door and walk the short distance back. Great staff and good menu choices.

I adore this place. The antiques change quite often. There is much to see. The staff are so lovely. The food in the cafe is excellent. I can really recommend the scones with jam and cream. The soups are very tasty and the fish and chips look like a whale surrounded by a forest.

A fascinating place to visit, we call frequently and there always something new to see. The staff are friendly and helpful. We also had a splendid lunch next door in the cafe. All in all an excellent experience

Really enjoy every visit here. Staff on the door helpful but you can browse happily for hours at a great selection of antiques from all ages and all over the world. The military stuff is a bit weird currently I will say tho. The cafe is excellent and the food tho pricey is lovely and again friendly young staff ( is it me or does everywhere employ v young staff these days?) Portion sizes good too, I had soup and a sandwich and a side order of chips which was way too much. Had to take some home tho as it was too good.

Surprisingly good food, generous portion and friendly lovely staffs. The jack potato with tuna was heavenly, could be the best one I had in my life. The bread came along with the soup was soft and the salted butter was perfect.

Great place to house an antiques shop. The cafe is high quality. We had to wait for a seat but we're quickly handed a reciever which beeped when a table became free. Whilst waiting we could roam the shop uptill called and returned once food was finished. The busyness is testament to the quality of produce available.. We will return

Lovely food and charming brilliant staff. I was spoilt for choice as I looked around to see what other people had chosen, I was left say hip, dip, tom ,tip. 🤣 I'm definitely going for a second time. Recommend you book so you won't be disappointed.

Beautiful tea rooms with a menu with lots of choices and tea and cakes available, quality was beyond what you would expect from a small place! Very impressive! With a extensive antique shop included with items of all prices for everyone's wallet! A perfect afternoon out.........

Great selection of antiques and a lovely cafe!

  • 5/5 Julia W. 1 year ago on Google
Have eaten here a few times and it never disappoints. The food is excellent, the staff are welcoming and know the menus well. You can book but we just went on the off chance. We were given an 'alarm' that rang when our table was ready. We waited about 45 minutes, but that wasn't a problem as we spent the time looking around the antiques.

  • 4/5 Tracy S. 1 year ago on Google
Beautifully kept small antiques centre in an old church. Very nice, but busy, tea room attached. We had to wait for a table but we did get a little alarm gadget that told us when the table was ready. After 35 mins in the antiques bit we got our table. Tasty food and good service. We will go again but I think it's more a tea room destination than an antique destination for me.

Just had lunch at Holden Wood Tearooms - the food was delicious, I had tomato and roasted pepper soup with a ham and piccalilli sandwich - the soup was homemade, the ham was thick cut from a joint and the piccalilli was homemade and tangy! Service was attentive and staff were pleasant. I will definitely be returning.

😠 However good it used to be, I now wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anybody. I took my wife for her birthday. We turned up early so sat at the bar tables and ordered some drinks after waiting for a waiter for 15 minutes. The drinks were made, placed on the bar where we just sat and watched them...
