Great
record
store
&
cafe.
I
had
been
told
about
Wax
and
Beans,
which
came
on
recommendation
from
an
owner
of
one
of
my
favourite
independent
record
stores
in
Manchester.
I
was
very
impressed
on
my
first
visit
to
the
place.
This
is
a
traditional
cafe
with
a
series
of
vinyl
record
bins
placed
along
the
wall.
The
bins
themselves
are
not
sorted
in
any
specific
order
by
artists
or
genre,
but
for
this
type
of
store,
I
actually
found
this
to
be
quite
fun.
Searching
through
the
new
vinyl
record
bins
with
this
type
of
setup
becomes
like
a
little
adventure
of
not
knowing
what
little
treasures
you
are
going
to
unearth.
I
usually
go
shopping
for
vinyl
at
the
weekend,
setting
myself
a
bit
of
an
allowance
to
spend
on
new
records,
otherwise
a
good
chunk
of
my
paycheque
would
go
on
building
my
collection,
so
I
usually
pickup
some
records
from
each
bin
along
the
way
&
then
whittle
it
down
to
a
selection
to
purchase
to
ensure
I
get
the
most
bang
for
my
buck.
The
owners
of
the
store
are
very
helpful
&
have
even
given
some
of
my
records
which
need
a
little
bit
more
TLC
than
a
regular
hand
cleaning
a
quick
run
through
their
record
cleaning
machine
which
has
really
breathed
new
life
into
old
records
or
ones
which
get
a
lot
of
play.
I
usually
get
some
food
&
a
drink
before
I
leaving,
which
Wax
and
Beans
cannot
be
faulted.
I
usually
go
for
a
full
english
breakfast
&
a
couple
of
cokes
or
maybe
a
bottle
or
2
of
Magners
Cider
if
I'm
going
in
later
during
the
day.
Fantastic
cafe
&
record
store.
Wax
And
Beans
also
hold
live
gigs,
which
I
will
have
to
attend
at
some
point
:D
