Stayed one night as we were visiting Ramsbottom - what a wonderful place. Quiet, peaceful and very beautifully surrounded by woodland. Owners very welcoming and helpful with lots of advice about the area and providing a map detailing the 3 mile countryside walk into town. Pitches are kept natural and have handmade seating and a fire pit each, firewood is available on site and costs go to help charities. Facilities are very clean, dogs are welcome on leads and whole ethos of the site seems environmentally friendly. We cannot wait to visit again.

Wow what a place! lovely family friendly camp site owned by great people. Set in a beautiful wood land with areas to socialise meet other campers (if you want) share a story over a beer and fire pit. 5 minutes from a town but while on site you feel you couldn't be further from civilisation. There are some fantastic walks in this area . Will definitely be back.

Jessy’s accommodation was absolutely wonderful. Myself and my partner opted to stay in ‘Author’ which is a converted mini van. The cleanliness of the campsite is to a really high standard, the hosts were extremely welcoming and went out of there way to make us feel welcome. We were able to have pizza made for us at a small extra cost and the site provided wood again, at a small cost for our fire pit located near just outside of our accommodation. The views nearby are stunning and there are plenty of local amenities near by. Would definitely recommend.

We had the pleasure of staying in Arthur the arthropod at Dearden Wood Campsite. It was such a beautiful place, set in the woods overlooking Ramsbottoms beautiful Holcombe Hill. Arthur was lovely, homely and the perfect space for 2 adults and 2 children, with a double bed and bunk beds. We were a little concerned of the heat in there as it was a lovely hot weekend but the owners had been in earlier and opened windows and doors make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Arthur is set under tree so it was so cool inside with the sun on the outdoor area. Just perfect. We stayed on a Friday night so booked a pizza made freshly for us which was delicious. The owners let our children play with water guns to stay cool, which they loved (as did the adults). They even provided us with antiseptic cream and plasters when one of the children was sting by a wasp, they literally couldn't do enough for us. Lovely people. I highly recommend this place for an escape from everyday life and a reset. The surrounding areas are beautiful if you wish to explore. We will definitely be returning. Thank you Dearden Wood Campsite for a wonderful break.

What an awesome campsite! Stayed here on my own for 1 night as I was collecting a folding camper the next day from nearby. Absolutely loved the place. So well thought through. It was raining hard at points but I was in the dry fire tent, nice and warm listening to the rain with a few glasses of wine. There is a very well equipped communal kitchen and good facilities. Jessy met me on arrival and showed me around and was so friendly and helpful. Worth a dedicated camping trip with the family and I live in Bristol!

Just returned from a very last minute one night stay at Dearden Wood to give our new tent a run out! We will be returning fairly quickly for a longer stay! Jessy was lovely and accommodating throughout, the campsite is quiet and secluded in the woods, but minutes away from the town centre. Their own dog walking route through the woods and down the river. They have an excellent communal space with a big mown lawn for playing on, and four or five little huts and fire pits for communal use. (As well as the fire pit at each pitch)

Had a wonderful stay at Dearden woods, as soon as you arrive the peace and calm of the place floods through you. Jessie and her dad were great hosts, glad we went for their offer of pizza, delicious! Each pitch comes with it’s own fire pit and you can purchase a generous helping of wood. Such a treat to relax next to the fire with the woods surrounding you after a long walk! We are very glad to have found this place and can’t wait to come back!

The best thing about camping is the people you meet and the places you experience. Dearden Wood exceeds on both. Jessy and her parents Mark and Karen have created a gem. They gave us a fantastic pitch set within the woods which we shared with an owl orchestra ........at least three different species hooting simultaneously. Other reviews comment on the cleanliness and organisation, which is faultless. For us the best thing about Dearden Wood is the inspirational vision that creates a community focused on care and respect.........marvellous and look forward to returning.

Brought our Guides here for a weekend and absolutely loved it! Campsite is beautifully done and the facilities were excellent. Lots of room and the roundhouse was an amazing space to gather in when the weather was bad. The girls enjoyed walking in the woods and by the river and the pizzas on Friday night are apparently ’the best ever’ Lovely site and even lovelier people. Thankyou for the warm welcome, we will definitely be back 👍

First time camping for my 5yr old grandson. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect site in Dearden Wood. A small woodland site located half a mile out of Edenfield. Pitches were great with parking next to them. The toilets, shower and pot wash are were Clean and tidy and even had a kettle and toaster. The family run site is actually a charity, campers support the management of the woodlands and the activities/interventions provided for young people. Marks devotion and passion shines through when you chat to him, definitely a labour of love in his retirement. Monte’s loved playing with the other children on grassed area. His highlight was meeting another boy who was also Monte with an ‘e’. We will return hopefully for pizza evening

What a wonderful site. We stayed one night, with a van and a tent pitch. The campsite was perfect. Nestled in the woodland, awash of dappled light, thoughtful amounts of space. Dearden wood is a family friendly gem. Mark and Jess were fab hosts and stewards of the land, curating a great space for making memories.

Beautiful campsite with clean facilities and great location. Great to be able to have fire pit so myself and daughter could cook marshmallows. Host was always available if needed. We used public transport to get there with no issues. Very close to Edenfield.would recommend!

Our first trip away in a camper van with my son and we have been spoiled by this beautiful camp site. Mark and family couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome and at home. Stayed for 2 nights from Friday until Sunday and got to enjoy the Friday pizza night which were delicious. Facilities were great, kitchen area for cleaning dishes with microwave, kettle toaster and fridge were really useful. It was great to see so many other families enjoying the outdoors and seeing my teen son enjoying walks down by the river was priceless. I can’t thank you enough for the memories this will leave us with and hope to see you all again soon. Paul.

Peaceful site with stunning views and easy access to walks to suit all abilities in the glorious Lancashire countryside. The amenities were immaculate and the yurt we stayed in was lovely and spacious for our little family. Mark and Jessy were incredible hosts: they gave us some excellent local recommendations and were always happy to stop and chat!

Had a great time staying overnight whilst on an endurance hiking weekend. Pizza was fantastic and the staff super friendly and great fun! Everyone with us felt well looked after and accommodated, and the facilities were well-kept, clean, and matched the woodland setting to a tee! 100% would recommend and hopefully will be staying again in the future.

Fantastic Santa event with the family and guests. It's great to share the site with so many excited children experiencing their two favourite things in the world. Pizza and Santa. Merry Xmas everyone.

Great family run campsite. Took my 5yr old for his first camping trip. He loved it and wanted to stay another night. We stayed in a Bell tent, plenty of room and very comfortable. Great facilities on site. Would highly recommend.

Loved it!! Stayed here for the night whilst touring through Lancashire. The owner was great and gave us a little tour of the grounds. It was very well maintained and the facilities were great. Would definitely stay there again.

We were made to feel very welcome and the pizza is one of the best I’ve ever tasted! The pitches are great and you can use their kettle and microwave which was much needed on a chilly evening! I would highly recommend.
