I
went
into
the
Roebuck
yesterday
by
myself,
since
I
am
a
local.
The
last
place
I
used
to
drink
fairly
frequently,
was
The
Masons
Arms
but
this
has
since
closed
and
the
management
that
ran
that
pub
has
gone-
a
real
shame.
The
beer
garden
at
this
pub
is
really
good,
very
spacious
and
I
could
imagine
when
there
are
sporting
events,
new
years,
and
other
public
holidays,
this
part
of
the
establishment
would
be
packed
out.The
inside
of
the
pub
is
clean,
presentable,
the
toilets
are
clean
to
the
point
of
immaculate.
The
service
is
efficient
and
you
are
not
kept
waiting,
the
beer
is
okay.
I
cannot
comment
as
to
whether
this
pub
is
friendly,
welcoming,
and
that
the
locals
are
acceptant
with
new
potential
customers
because
I
really
did
not
feel
any
atmosphere,
Some
pubs
are
locals
only
and
the
clientele
can
become
very
clique
like,
so
if
your
face
does
not
fit,
or
you
are
perceived
friendly
you're
probably
viewed
with
suspicion.
Basic
interactions
like
responding
to
'good
evening',
'hello'
and
'goodbye'
just
show
that
people
have
some
respect
for
one
another,
being
ignored
reflects
badly.
This
is
not
a
place
I
would
look
to
frequent
and
it
is
probably
better
to
go
in
with
a
group
of
people,
whomst
the
locals
do
accept
and
like.
This
is
such
a
shame
because
this
pub
has
real
potential
and
I
am
looking
for
an
establishment
within
reasonable
distance
from
home,
instead
of
travelling
into
Rawtenstall.
I
doubt
that
the
fact
I
will
not
be
returning
to
the
Roebuck
any
time
soon
will
be
welcome
relief
for
the
locals,
at
a
time
when
all
hospitality
businesses
are
trying
to
gain
support
from
the
local
community
can
the
management
be
truly
comfortable
and
acceptant
of
this
review?
If
not
it
might
go
some
way
into
mirroring
how
I
felt
last
night.
