room was clean an adequate although no wardrobe . eventually found hospitality tray in dresser drawer and though we used some items on the first day was not replenished for the second. . staff were very helpful and friendly and made our stay a nice one. spa facilities were open to local public and to see regular locals is only a + for me showing that people use it not just for breaks or work. the food was average but for the money you pay was good value, and the all inclusive bar was again a plus and great value for money. nice location within walking distance of the town. we will return at a later date.

We came for the swim and Afternoon Tea deal. Pleased that we got that, it was good value. The pool was good, a little small but there weren't many people when we went so it felt, at times, like we had it all to ourselves. The jacuzzi was nice, really warm, and powerful and we also enjoyed the steam room, we didn't use the sauna. You get two hours to use the leisure facilities before Afternoon Tea. We went upstairs to the Robert Peel room to eat. It was OK. It was a decent Afternoon Tea. Basic but good. Unfortunately for me they didn't have any decaf coffee or tea which was a bit of a letdown as what is an Afternoon Tea, without the Tea. The sandwiches were nice and you get a sausage roll and quiche with them too. The cakes were okay, the carrot cake was amazing but my wife said the chocolate brownies tasted like strange fudge. Scones okay but a little dry. Altogether not the best I've had but for the price with the swim was decent.

Nice clean room a little dated, pool facilities need upgrading. After a long journey and not attending the wedding until the evening asked if we could order a couple of sandwiches was told the chef couldn't do it as they were doing the wedding breakfast. Ended up at tesco! Coming from a hotel/hospitality background was a little disappointing. Other than that the staff were pleasant.

In much need of a renovation and a overall clean, looks absolutely nothing like the pictures on the website. We had the bridal suite and was so disappointed, very dark in colour and what looked like either mould or an old leak, stains all over the carpet. However all the staff were amazing and did tell us about all the plans they have for this place. Extremely friendly staff and also the food was lovely and the all inclusive drinks went down a treat.

Hotel a bit dated, however, the staff were all exceptional. Chris at the bar was attentive and very helpful. The food was really good at the evening meal. Rooms were clean but in need of modernisation. Great position and base for a weekend away, don't expect luxury but do expect to meet some smashing staff who more than make up for it.

I’m not sure if the previous reviewer was at the same hotel, however I can confirm that our experience was amazing. We came with the family, about 10 of us and our kids enjoyed every minute (maybe the adults enjoyed it a tad more). This was because the staff and manager couldn’t do anymore to help and make the experience one to remember. The manager, Emma I seem to recall, was excellent and so lovely. She welcomed us with open arms and really made a fuss out of our children (this is unusual to be honest) The pool area is huge - and a good temperature. Yes, no children are allowed in the jacuzzi but there are plenty of signs. They are there as a safety precaution. The hospitality was outstanding and the chef really took time to understand what we fancied for tea and delivered simply delicious food. Couldn’t fault it and will be back again.

The staff are so lovely and accommodating. The restaurant staff, Alex, Rob, Milly and Mel were so attentive and kind. It is really lovely to go somewhere where the staff genuinely cared about our experience and went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely time. The evening meal was lovely and drinks were fab! The only let down was the afternoon tea which could have been better, however the scones were delicious! We will come again.

Very disappointed in our stay this weekend. Heating in the hotel was appauling, the rooms were boiling all day and uncomfortable. It made a whistling noise all night and kept me awake . The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything going on in the rooms along the hall. People partying till all time , no curfew in the time to quiet down. The communal toaster at breakfast was broken and didn't get replaced. The food was poor , very fatty bacon. They didn't listen to mine or my parties request on what we wanted. The rooms are very outdated , stained carpets , old furniture. Need attending to especially for what you pay to stay there. Across from me there was a dig staying in their room which I found unhygienic . No house keeping, the tea and coffee facilities didn't get replaced after the first night we stayed. I won't be staying there again.

Wonderful staff and lovely food .. however the rooms are very tatty.. the bed was not comfortable and the pillows were really old.. really needs an upgrade.. spa facilities are very basic and need upgrading . Stayed on the all inclusive plus deal which was good value for money food and drink wise but overall the venue was a let down . Cannot fault the staff.. friendly and efficient and a credit to the hotel .

My wife and I stayed at the Old Mill for a 3 night all-inclusive break. The food was excellent. Breakfast staff were very welcoming and highly efficient. Thanks Zoe! Evening staff took a while to warm up, as did the restaurant. It was very cool in there. Our room was fine, although one bed wasn't very comfortable. The location is excellent, just a few minutes walk into Ramsbottom where there's plenty to see and fast buses to Manchester. Overall, it was close to 5 star and we fully intend to return one day.

Hubby & friends arranged surprise weekend here for my birthday in January, booked the all inclusive package which was perfect for a group booking. Staff were absolutely brilliant, food choice was good and was amazing. Location was lovely, 2 min walk into beautiful village. The only slightly negative was limited seating in bar area, we stayed at our table all night as other residents had taken up the comfy chairs. Room was clean and comfortable.

Had high tea and a swim/ sauna bought for my birthday. Sauna and jacuzzi lovely and warm , pool small but functional. After getting changed went upstairs for afternoon tea. Young man ( Tyler) made us feel very welcome asking where we would like to sit and arranging our table. Food lovely and fresh. Whilst sat chatting Tyler asked if everything was good and if we needed anything else. We were not rushed or pressured it was lovely and relaxed. We had a lovely chat with Tyler who is a credit to the Old Mill Thank you for a lovely afternoon, Highly recommend.

I didn't see the room, went for a spa day, I really enjoyed it. Nice a peaceful, the hotel staff very helpful and friendly, couldn't do enough for us. Also it close to the little village, where there are plenty of quaint shops. We had high teas, and it was lovely, waiter was great. Thank you.

Had a lovely overnight stay, wine tasting with cheese board, 3 course dinner and buffet breakfast. Added a swim and jacuzzi dip too! Rooms had everything that was needed, and although there were elements that were a little dated, the beds were so comfy! Just what we needed from our little break in this beautiful little town. Shoutout to Sarah on the reception who was amazing and Tyler, our wine tasting host and waiter for the night. They really couldn't have helped us more!

First time visiting for 25 years. Its a lot more worn than back then. The room had nor been made up. Sheets rumpled and make up wipe in the bin. The gent in charge was lovely about it and gave us a 20% reduction and a drink in the house in the lounge so can't fault the response but concerning that it had happened in the first place. He saw to the room himself. Not sure there were enough staff on as they seemed quite stretched with the sane 2 people handling everything. Wouldn't revisit I'm afraid.

The plave is located in the small town of Ramsbottom. A perfect place for a little weekend getaway with your friends and loved ones. The hotel was really good. One of the best 3-star hotels I’ve stayed in. With proper ammenities like an indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Couldn’t try the food as I was there just for 1 night and had to attend a wedding the very next morning. The staff members were very polite and welcoming. They even let me keep the luggage in the hotel after checking out so that I can go and attend the wedding at peace. The only downside I’d say is that the Wi-Fi of the place is a bit weak. Like it keeps disconnecting due to the router being a bit far away from the room. But other than that, everything was great. Loved it. 👍🏼

Just had a relaxing stay at The Old Mill, where we enjoyed a delicious three course meal, served by friendly and accommodating staff. The room was warm, well equipped, clean and comfortable and the shower was great. Everyone in the hotel is polite and helpful and we were made to feel welcome. As if that wasn’t enough…the Full English was definitely worth waking up for. We’ll be back soon. We didn’t make use of the leisure facilities, but we hope to next time.

We had a lovely time staying here. The pool and sauna were such a bonus. The staff were great, the people cooking the breakfast on Sat 24th June were excellent and thanks to Emma and Zoe for making us feel so welcome.

There were 4 of us in Ramsbottom to celebrate our friends 70th Birthday. The room was warm and clean and we were able to leave our bags before check-in time. It was the breakfast service that let the place down and the response to our feedback. The hotel told us the breakfast times and we advised them we would come to breakfast at 9am. We arrived at 8:50. There was only 2 other guests who left shortly after we arrived. As soon as the waitress served our hot breakfast she started to clear away all the continental breakfast bar; taking away the cold drinks turning the coffee machine off, taking away the pastries etc. At no time did she ask if we were finished before clearing up. We hadn't finished, we wanted coffees. She did turn the machine back on on request. When we gave the receptionist our polite feedback she was polite although said breakfast was a half hour slot. I've never experienced a hotel clearing up so quickly after arriving in the dining room or not asking if there was anything else we needed before clearing away. I'm sorry but this isn’t very good customer service. Also we enquired about getting a late checkout, as it said on a card in the hotel room. Granted it wasn't guaranteed. We were denied even though the hotel wasn't very busy. We were advised we should have requested the day before. It didn't say this on the card in the room. We thought some of the staff lacked training on giving a good customer experience.

Stayed here for a local wedding last year, unfortunately we weren’t impressed. Although staff are absolutely lovely, the rooms and overall facilities of the hotel are not value for money. The rooms and the bathrooms are outdated, tired and really do need gutting. The pool is okay but again could do with renovating. The steam room smelt awful! I personally wouldn’t stay here again as I feel you can get better for the same price if not less.

Great location with just a short walk to the high street. Lovely little pool and spa. Hotel a little dated and no menu for breakfast options. Would stay again to visit this area, but wouldn't stay here longer than a weekend. WiFi didn't work and tv reception very fuzzy.

We are a group of 2 couples staying here for a 3 night break, the food has been excellent and the staff have been be second to none, a special mention to Grace, Stella, Lizzy and Kaja, who have served, assisted and chatted to us even though they have been under the stress of the hotel being short of staff, each and everyone of them deserves recognition from Lavender Hotels and a huge award. Thank you so much ladies 💐💐💐💐

The Hotel is situated a short walk from the town of Ramsbottom which has lots of bars and Restaurants. The Hotel itself is cosy but could do with some updating, however it was very clean despite being an older building, we found the Staff to be very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was somewhat disorganised but the food although limited in choice was well cooked and enjoyable.having stayed for 2 nights we found ourselves being rushed on the second morning as the Restaurant staff were clearing up breakfast items before we had finished eating making us feel uncomfortable. All in all not a bad stay but a few tweaks would make the whole experience much better 😄

Great all inclusive offer & very clean room. Only downside was there were only 2 staff on serving the restaurant & bar but they did work hard. Food was good & the free drinks between 6-11pm is a really good idea. Will defo go again & recommend to friends.

A lovely find. The rooms a little tired but the welcoming atmosphere and staff wonderful. We had the all inclusive option and we were not disappointed. Waiting staff very attentive. A lot of steps so not suitable if you have mobility difficulties.

Very nice area. Nice and clean hotel. We had breakfast and evening meal, food brilliant. Staff nice and friendly and very helpful. We went all inclusive they had top named brands, no cheap stuff. Just one thing very dated. We would go again.
