The pub itself needs a face-lift, BUT the food cannot be faulted a mixed grill was ordered along with roast beef dinner. When it came it was amazing, the mixed grill was not only massive but beautifully cooked and red hot, the roast beef dinner was according to my better half "the best meal I've had in ages". And the prices are really good value as well. BRILLIANT little place our first visit but not our last.

What a nice pub! I saw the reviews on Google and thought I’d give it a try on the way back from a local Fell race. I had a steak pie with chips and it was delicious. A nice pint of beer in a cosy room in front of the fire. I’d like to have stayed all afternoon. It had a nice atmosphere with a lot of local people.

Love this place and it never disappoints. Mixed grill looked good but my son only let me try the black pudding. The chicken and King prawns in garlic was just as I remember it. Chicken not dry, kudos to the chef. Met a lovely local chap who is due to receive a Doberman puppy so good luck as I'd two. Would recommend. Limited parking but I'm sure you could find a spot nearby.

The food was great and well priced, the service was good. The decor of the place was poor and the large woman behind the bar was the most miserable unwelcoming barmaid I had the misfortune to come across.

Just got back from The Glen View Inn after having a meal there for my birthday. I've been here a few times but not since before covid times. Nothing has changed. The food was still delicious. The pub is still cosy with great music and a no swearing rule. The staff are professional but also lovely and welcoming. The food, served piping hot, is simple, but very comforting fresh food for an excellent price. We had a starter ( potato wedges with garlic sauce and a fresh salad) and two mains (beef roast as a special and Cajun chicken, chips and onion rings)and if I could have fit it in, I would have had a pudding too! I was picking my birthday cake up after the meal though so that scuppered my chances. I highly recommend you booking a table (you can just drop in too) and getting yourself a tasty meal.

We went for a birthday 🎂 celebration today at lunchtime & as always it was 5*****. The food was excellent... a Glen View Mixed Grill (absolutely colossal) & 2 Roast Beef dinners (where else do you get 5 large thick slices of beef) the staff are always friendly, engaging, very helpful & always smiling. If you want excellent home cooked food with a cosy friendly atmosphere, with some great background music this is definitely worth visiting.

We had a delightful experience at the Glen View Pub. The food was not only delicious but also came in generous portion sizes. Jane, who welcomed us, was exceptionally warm and made us feel right at home. The young lad who served us was polite and attentive throughout our visit, adding to the overall positive impression. I highly recommend this pub for a wonderful dining experience.

Really decent pub grub and we all enjoyed it. The decor isn't the best but the service was great and friendly staff. The brandy sauce could have done with more flavour, and my crumble was really tasty

Traditional pub with two options of real ale. The menu was good with many options and a brilliant specials board. The value for money is excellent and staff very friendly and welcoming. Definitely going to go again

Been going for over 15 years never had a bad meal not once. Last time I went was different however. My steak was severely undercooked it was dripping blood which ruined chips and everything else. A young lad came over and asked if food was ok. I said no the steak is undercooked I asked for medium this is barely even rare. He went away and never returned. Left sat with a plate full of blood and a ruined meal. Paid begrudgingly and left in a foul mood.

Popped in on a countryside walk. Lovely warm welcome. Excellent cask marque ales. I stayed for a late lunch, choosing a cheese and mushroom coated gammon. Delicious and a large portion too. Highly recommended

Smashing place love the landlady when she serves me dinner and walks in with a beaming smile, Gaynor works very hard so does the staff. I myself have been a regular at the Glen for years now so I tend to remember her dad running the pub it was a crowd puller then, and still is today I fond memories still when Joe was running her dad wasin charge you could say he died for the place bying the pub in 1970 for a £1,000 which was a lot of money then it was very run down, so you could imagine the hard work being done to get it going again. Well done Joseph Hallinan keep running the pub. Gaynor your doing a good job
