Having waitresses coming out and publicly humiliating guests bc the server feels the tip is too small is incredibly unprofessional. The guests were always planning on leaving a cash tip, but this server didn’t have the patience to wait until the end of the meal. The manager supported her confrontation and he didn’t rectify the situation in any way. Also incredibly unprofessional. I will not be recommending this restaurant to even my greatest enemy. Talk about unnecessary emotional trauma at a Sunday brunch with friends.

Ate here before the movies that is next door. The food was great. We got the asparagus fries (so good) as an app but as soon as they set them on the table the food came right behind it at the same time. For entrees, we got a grilled grouper sandwich with fried okra, tacos with fries, a ceaser salad and a chicken tortilla salad with coriander & lime dressing. At the beginning we got our drinks and had to asked our server 3 times for straws. She never brought them. We finally asked another server and they brought them. After we got our food we askour server 2 times for extra salad dressing. After asking someone else for dressing and she came by the table again and noticed we still had not received. Finally she went and got it. We had to ask for drink refills too. When it was check time, we had separate checks and she but drinks on the wrong ticket. At the end she said it was only her second day but there is no excuse for us to have to ask more than once for something. Server was Alexandra, she needs more training.

Food has not been as good as it use to be and wait times inconstant, whether sitting at the bar or at a table, waitstaff and bartenders selectively choose who gets served timely rather than by first come first serve. Staff is not as friendly as in the past, perhaps they are over worked

Just finished a quick lunch at the bar in Marlow’s Tavern East Cobb, and I can say that the food was excellent- the Royale with cheese burger did not need any condiments because it tasted great. The hand cut fries were fresh and delicious. Hats off to the food and the service!

Took my Mother here for years, at least once a month. She tells me she no longer wants to come here. The reason- The hostess yells, with a very loud voice, to the other employees. She shouts from the main floor area to the Kitchen station, right in your ear when you are trying to enjoy your meal. Completely unacceptable! This is not the Varsity Lady! Please get rid of this employee so we can come back and enjoy the great food and the other respectable servers and bartenders.

We had a great meal at Marlow's Tavern today. The spinach fondue and firecracker shrimp were great appetizers. I had the deconstructed jambalaya which goes away on Tuesday, so hurry. You deserve some. My wife had the fish tacos with grouper instead of tilapia. They were awesome as well. Our server MaKayla was cheerful and very attentive, even the General Manager, Jon something, came to our table to check on us. The food was enjoyable, the atmosphere relaxed and all around it was a pleasant experience. We will be back.

This was my second time eating here. I'm the type when I find a dish that I like, I'll only get what I've tried and know I like. The menu has so many meals that sound delicious. I struggled with the decision to get what I ordered the first time or try something new. I decided to go for something new and I was not disappointed. I ordered the pumpkin crusted trigger fish. It was delicious. The flavors blend very well and the portion is perfect. I also ordered the coconut basil margarita which was amazing and the appetizer boom boom shrimp. Absolutely have no complaints about anything. My husband ordered the grouper sandwich, he says it was delicious also.

We stopped in for a quick bite before a movie. They set us right away. Impressive, considering it 6pm on Saturday and thy after us out became 15 min wait. We did end up sitting there for about 10 minutes before anyone came by and said hi. Once she did come by, our waitress she was nice as friendly. My wife had a French dip and I had the black and blue salad. The steak was perfectly cooked (mid rare) and her fries were awesome. The food came out super fast too. I will say that the waitress didn't come by but once after we got our food and that was well into the meal. Annoying considering we needed ketchup. All in all, good was great, service ok, we will definitely be back.

I also loved the vibe of the tavern. It's cozy yet modern, creating a great atmosphere to relax and enjoy a delicious meal. Whether I was with friends or on a solo adventure, Marlow's Tavern quickly became my go-to spot. Update; It was embarrassing that they delivered another guest's order to our table. I know this is a busy day but they didn't have enough stuff. Also apparently they are not tracking table and seat based order with bad POS system. I would recommend them to upgrade to a better system like ORO POS that does the job well or Revel POS.

The food was ok, we ordered a hamburger adult meal, well done. The burger was delivered with cheese and defiantly not well done. We told the waitress we didn’t order cheese and the burger was ordered well done. She said the burger was fully cooked and could not take it back. The waitress was attentive, it’s a tavern, kind of like a quite bar. I could have given 5 stars if the waitress could have made the burger correct. The cheese was 2.00 per burger and we had to pay that even though we didn’t ask for that either. The fries were cold and floppy. Main complaint was both of our well done burgers were rare.

My husband and I wanted to eat here this past Thursday evening. It wasn’t busy at all. We waited for a while for a host to come up to the front to seat us. She was chatting with another worker so I assume she hadn’t seen us come in. That was fine. She seated us but a waiter never came to our table. We left after 25-30 minutes of not even being acknowledged. It would have been understandable if they had been busy and if someone had said they would get with us when they could. They pretended like we weren’t even there. We rode over to the Mexican restaurant where we are always treated great. I don’t know why we were treated so poorly at this restaurant. I like to give restaurants the benefit of doubt because things happen and we are very patient and we are never in a rush on our dates but treating us like we were not even there was just terrible. We will not be returning.

The waiter was nice but their food was not good. Their burger was terrible but their asparagus fries were great. My friend was drinking hot water and lemon and her water had hair in it. So gross 😝. She also had the veggie burger and she did not like it at all. I would not go there again nor recommend anyone to go there

We had a great experience as usual. Amy was our server and was amazing! My parents were visiting from Sweden and she made them feel important and seen. The food was delicious and Amy was efficient but still managed to make us feel important and have all the time in the world to enjoy our time. We will be back, and hope to end up at Amy’s table again!

Friday lunch was great. We had a burger, asian salad, bloody Mary’s. Nice atmosphere, a little loud. I like when there is water on the table so we can refill our own drinks. Good location, close to shopping!

First time at this location. Nice ambiance, great food! Only thing that bothered me was our waitress seemed a little rushy regarding the check. She was nice and had good customer service but must consider that some couples don't want to feel rushed.

The food was really good. I was basic and ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The fries were one of a kind. Like, I’ve never had any fries that tasted so good. In my defense of being basic and ordering a cheeseburger, is their menu did not have a lot of items and the items on there were pricey in my opinion. Particularly the plated dinners. If I recall correctly it might have been 9 options. We also tried the crab cake appetizer and a side of the jalapeño corn grits. These saved the experience and almost earned a 4th star. They were great and was eaten as an entre. Great flavors! And was a pretty hefty crab cake. This particular location was sort of small but i enjoyed the dim lighting. I’d recommend going just be open minded and know there are several appetizers options but not as many entree.

The first time I went here was the best experience I had walking into a restaurant I had never heard of before! The food is amazing and the bartenders/servers are fantastic!

  • 1/5 Robert K. 1 year ago on Google
Sorry to say, very disappointing. The waitress was great, but beyond that, the experience was poor. The first issue was that a drink arrived without stuffed olives. We asked the person that brought the drink for the olives, and he brought regular olives. The waitress finally brought stuffed olives. The tuna in the salad was not fit for consumption. The replacement tuna was not much better. My caesar salad was limp and tasteless, as was the blackened chicken. As we were finishing up, one of the employees {that was sweeping the floor} advised us, in an unfriendly tone, that the restaurant had closed (7:00 pm on Christmas eve); we felt like we were being told to leave despite the fact that other people in the restaurant were still eating. Nothing worked for us at the restaurant. I hope it was just an off night; that said, I will not be a return customer.

Figured I would give them another try..bad idea..received food tray open an cold. Ordered the nacho crab..I got all cheese topped off with a jalapeño. Never again..if I could give a o that would be sufficient. Absolutely terrible

Great apps. Attentive staff. Took a shopping break for appetizers. The fried okra was freshly cooked and just enough batter. Very crispy. My first time and the manager brought complimentary homemade chips with a yummy blue cheese. Would definitely order on every visit. The shrimp app was also very good. Creative cocktails. Left full and happy

Medium well steak medallions tasted like eating a dirty grill. I have suspicions that some of the food is just microwaved. Like my potatoes weren’t even that hot and cooled down quickly?

We like it because the patio is large and heated well. The food is pretty good and the drinks are too. The menu is diverse enough for myself, my wife and my six-year old.

We were a small group of 4 pressed for time. We informed pur server of the fact that we had only a hour and he told us no problem. How satisfied I was with the service and food was great. We were in and out in a hour. A

It's a good place to get together with friends. A reasonable selection of beer, wine, and mixed drinks are available so there is something for everyone. Food is good (think high end bar food) again something for everyone. Always very crowded and the dinner hour and weekends. Can be very loud so be prepared for it. A patio area is available for those not comfortable eating inside a restaurant.

While the service was fair, the food was fabulous! I am pretty certain our server was a newbie. The Manager gave us a free appetizer since it was our first visit. Might be worth a return visit the next time we are in Marietta.

Food was out super quick, servers were nice. I'm not gonna lie a lot of restaurants struggle on the weekends, but they did great. They're head chef was really kind also. Burgers are ridiculously good too, even the fries, legit Golden. I'm coming back here 👌

Came here with some friends for an impromptu hang out. We waited about 50 minutes for a table, it was a Saturday night and pretty busy. The employees and our server were pleasant. It would've been 5 stars if the drinks were better. We tried several of the cocktails and even the strawberry lemonade wasn't our preference. Waiter was pleasant throughout and neither food or drinks took long to come out.

Delicious butternut squash crab bisque followed by Surf and Turf. Wonderful Valentines day lunch courtesy of my very sweet boyfriend. 💕 Excellent service as usual. Our favorite place to eat in Marietta.

They were super busy, but got us seated within seconds of waking in. We got our appetizer before our cocktails came! They were so fast. Everyone was working hard, even the manager to get people in and out quickly. The only bad thing was that our wings were still cold/pink and under cooked. We told the sever and she took them back, but then returned them to us even though we asked her not to. We just wanted to let them know they were undercooked, and we weren’t in the mood for wings anymore because by then our entrees had arrived. Not sure why they brought back the uneaten wings on a new plate without the veggies or ranch, instead of just redoing them or refunding us. Everything else was good.

Placed gift card and my form of payment in checkbook and handed to server. He then charged my card for the full amount and comes back to the table surprised that there was a gift card in there. He asked was this gift card already in there? No... it magically appeared out of thin air. I was then told I was going to be refunded the difference that the gift card was going to take care of and it's been over 24 hours with no such refund. Food is overpriced and service sucked. It's really not okay to mess with people's money. Would never recommend, very shady.

Wonderful lunch with special friends! We were seated quickly and greeted by Gigi. She brought our drinks right away and took our order. The food really came quickly! We started with the hummus, which was very fresh and delicious. Then we tried the fried asparagus...Yum😋 The burger was delicious and cooked exactly as I asked. A great experience with equally great service!

The customer experience wasn't that great when we arrived there was no one to sit us and we could see workers walking around and chating. I had to go and ask the hostess if they are still serving and she said "oh yes just changing shifts". We were sat down our waiter was amazing and friendly. However the side rice and vegetables was so salty and had to change for French fries. I did want another plate fixed. I have eaten at so many Marlow's franchise and this is the first I was never satisfied with meal.

What a great experience! This was my first time visiting and it will not be my last. We ate at the bar and both bartenders were great. They helped us navigate the menu to make great meal selections. New York strip was wonderful, and the twice baked potatoes should be a side! The Royale is the best burger you will eat. Great service and great food!

My husband and I order (delivery) from this location a couple of times a month. Last night, my husband ordered the crispy grouper sandwich for the first time. It looked scrumptious and I had to have a bite. It did not disappoint. It was flavorful, hot and oh so crispy. I thought about that sandwich all day, so I gave into temptation and ordered one a couple of hours ago. Hard to believe it came from the same restaurant because it was the complete opposite of the one my husband had last night. It was cold and tasteless and not a crunch to be found...like it had been sitting around for a while. Plus, it wasn't a filet, but rather 3 small "fingers". My husband got the tavern burger, but even that was "off". That usual great grilled flavor was not there. We're both very disappointed...guess it's time to try somewhere new.

My review disappeared, so I'm baaaaack reviewing again! Try the shrimp & crab "nachos" - I have them every time I'm here, and my hubby loves grilled chicken. We always have great service and food here. We've only had drinks at other locations, but the food here is 👍👍

  • 5/5 Kimberly E. 1 year ago on Google
They were understaffed due to the amount of customers but as we observed ALL employees were busting their tails to satisfy their customers! The only small complaint we have is, our fav appetizer, the dynamite shrimp (may have different name) two times in a row we've gotten carrot instead of green peppers like it had been, I don't know if it's changed for good or not....but it's not as good as before, and menu still describes it as green peppers. So if it's changed, the menu needs to say so, especially for folks like us who don't like carrots. 😕 Outside of that, very pleased!

We were in the area and looking for a place to eat lunch. This place came up in the search. We decided to give it a try. It was great. The service was excellent and so was the food. We even ordered something to go to take home. The jalapeno grits and the grits cake are amazing. The manager (?) even came by to check on us.

Just ate at the Marlow's in East Cobb for the first and last time. Food was bland. Steak was not properly trimmed before cooking. The server was the only saving grace of the place and it was his first day. On top of food that was not worth what they charge, I had to dry my hands with toilet paper that was hung in the wrong direction. My suggestion to the management is lower your prices to meet the standards at which the food is prepared.
