My husband made a weekend reservation to celebrate our fourth year anniversary. This morning 8/14/22 we ordered a breakfast room service. The breakfast was good and hot but I didn't like the coffee presentation, the cup coffee was covered with a clear plastic foil 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ & outside of the cup was covered of stains coffee. My opinion is the high quality of Avalon Hotel is, should have a decent coffee pot. What do you think?

The Hotel at Avalon is a beautiful vibrant facility with flexible event space. Really wonderful, attentive staff who seemed to enjoy their work. They were very intentional about creating an engaging atmosphere in the lobby. Well done! Avalon is a walk up town center area with a very nice collection of retail, restaurants, & movie theater all just steps away from the hotel. Some might be comforted to know there is a full Starbucks onsite and I highly recommend trying the South City Kitchen, also located in the hotel.

Stayed here for a conference. The area around the hotel is great - lots of restaurants, bars and shopping. There's also a movie theater. Food and service were excellent. There's a full Starbucks in the lobby. Fixtures and furniture were new and in working order throughout. Room wasn't as clean as would have liked : there was an old empty toothpaste box in a dresser drawer, a few little hairs in the bathroom, one towel had a hole in it. Stuff like that. Didn't try room service so I can't comment except to say there wasn't a menu in the room. The room was large enough but the closet couldn't fit my suit bag. Overall, a solid 4 star hotel in a 5 star neighborhood.

What is there not to love about this property? Nice location. Starbucks in the lobby. Walking distance to many food outlets. Open container allowed. We needed a place to stay and we found this hotel at a great rate. Valet parked the truck. Check in was smooth. Room fun and thoughtful. Toilet with bookcase wallpaper. Textured wall in shower. Outlets on the side of night stand. Super high thread count sheets. Comfortable bed. If you need a stay-cation this is the place to go. Thank you to the Marriott team!

My husband booked this stay for us and this has been piss poor! First we checked in and these rooms are mediocre at best. Our room Didn’t have slipper or robes. We called and asked for it to be brought up. Then we called for in room dining and no one answered for 20 mins. The water took 10 minutes to warm up when taking a shower. We left today at 10 am and returned at 8pm. Our room has not been cleaned at all. Someone replaced the towels but the didn’t clean the room. How does that make sense? We called the front desk they didn’t care! The lady put my husband on hold and didn’t come back. We left and on my way back in stopped at the front desk and the tall black girl had an attitude when I asked for a manager. The manager (Spanish lady) honestly could care less she did offer to have some one tidy up the room but why wasn’t this handled when we originally called. We were supposed to stay for 6 days needless to say we are checking out tomorrow 4 days early! This hotel is trash!!!!!!!! The service is the sewer!!!! We came here because the reviews are amazing but now I’m convinced the reviews are fake because it truly doesn’t make sense! This hotel staff needs to be retrained. The response to the complaints are repulsive.

It a fine hotel. The common areas are quite nice. But the rooms are just...eh. And when I paid about $100 more for a "corner suite" that allegedly had great views, this is what I got (see photos). There was also an incident in the elevator lobby one evening involving a disoriented woman in a bath robe who was lying on the ground bleeding profusely. It became apparent after some time being "tended" to by several hotel staff members that there wasn't a single employee in the hotel that had any amount of basic medical training. (They just called 911 and waited for paramedics to arrive.) In retrospect it is unnerving that a hotel of this size didn't have a single employee on the property with basic medical training. In short, I expected more from an Autograph property. But it was fine.

I can't say enough positive things about our stay at The Hotel at Avalon. I was there for a girls night with a dear friend and everything was amazing. The moment we arrived the hotel was bustling with positive energy. The woman at the front desk was kind, attentive and welcoming. The food for dinner was incredible. The room service attendants were wonderful. Thank you for a great visit. Can't wait to come back

Great place to stay! The lobby, bar, and restaurant were lively and clean. Staff was great any time we needed to call for the car or request extra towels, and the valet service always made sure the car was available within minutes of calling down. If I had one critique, and it is a very small one, there isn't a lot of signage that points to the location of the hotel.

Excellent hotel value. Great location at the Avalon in alpharetta- there's plenty of restaurants and shops to walk to. The surrounding is very peaceful. The hotel is relatively new construction. I would say this is at the level between a nice Courtyard and a Westin hotel, more towards the latter. I would come back if I needed a hotel in Alpharetta.

Poor service and a lot of room issues. Front desk wasn’t friendly or welcoming at all nor did it provide any helpful information. It would’ve been nice to know about the amenities or how to order room service. Room had a ton of issues and not what I would expect with a hotel in this price range. TV was broken (see picture). ALL the lamps were unplugged which was only a minor inconvenience but I would’ve expected to not have to fix things upon arriving. Lastly the coffee maker was disgusting (see picture). Overall wouldn’t recommend, I paid over $400 a night and had a ton of issues.

Busy location with parking deck but something of a walk. I got food poisoning at the restaurant, so I told the hotel manager to prevent anyone else from getting sick. Hotel manager simply said, "No one else was sick." She didn't offer to refund the price of the food, say she would let the restaurant know or seem at all sympathetic. I don't want to stay here again. The hotel was clean and the rooms are comfortable.

I have stayed here twice (once in 2022 and once in 2023). The staff has always been kind and the location is truly great. I even used the complimentary bikes, which was so much fun. However, the cleanliness of the rooms remains to disappoint me. If it wasn't for the location, I wouldn't stay here for this reason. I don't mind having to use my Lysol wipes to wipe here and there, but how can you call this a "luxury getaway" when both times there are big spots on the rug and tables, stains on the pillows and chairs, cracks in the sink, crumbs in the crevice of the bedside table, etc. I will say that I called to ask them to scrub the chair so that we can sit in it, and within about 2-3 hours, they returned the chair much more clean than how I found it, and they were very kind about it. I'm sure there is a time crunch or staff shortage for cleaning the rooms, and I understand that, but the price of these rooms should not account for a consistent cleanliness problem. I even found a booger on the window, pictured here, and I just had to laugh at that point. Please pay your staff more or kindly ask them to clean more thoroughly if they can. I am giving a three star instead of a 1 star because the staff are nice.

One of the more attractive hotels out there. Nice bar and Restaurant in the lobby as well as plenty of options just outside within walking distance. Just like most places these days, you'll have to deal with some ignorant and careless personnel that finds ways to ruin your stay. Overall, not bad at all - we'll visit again 😊👍

I am looking to host a small private family event on the rooftop and I thought this may be the perfect spot. While at Avalon center I took a gamble and went to the hotel’s front desk just to see if I could view the space. STEPHANIE went above and beyond and patiently and joyfully gave me a tour of the rooftop area along with other helpful information. I could not have asked for a better customer care experience and I sincerely appreciate her. Now, while I was “wondering” if I would host my event here, I am absolutely certain that I will. Thank you again Stephanie for your kindness.

Nice and clean rooms, pool, cozy gym and welcoming counter staff! I like the bar and the Starbucks in the lobby is so convenient. Prime location at the Avalon shopping center offering a movie theater, restaurants and community events.

Luckily I stayed on loyalty points. Would have been very upset to have paid the prices for the quality of room I stayed in. And my room was an upgrade. Refrigerator didn't work and AC not working properly. It shows as a fancy hotel, but doesn't produce like one. Would look at more valued places before I booked again. Very disappointed.

I’ve stayed at this hotel at least 3 times in the last 2 years and I swear every single time, we are woken up to housekeeping at 9 am. Every time. This time housekeeping opened the door without even giving us time to answer the door- she got stuck on the lock and saw we were still in bed and just yelled “sorry” and shut the door…. Other than that, the rooms are beautiful and in a great location. **edit As stated by another reviewer, check the alarm clocks!!!! Housekeeping does not check and alarms may go off from previous people that have stayed in the room. We had an alarm go off at 6am.

I had an excellent stay here. The staff's level of professionalism is unmatched. The rooms were spacious and well kept, the hotel was clean, and the surrounding area is absolutely fantastic. I was hosting a business conference at the hotel and Donna really took care of my group, providing us with a high-class experience. Yania was incredibly helpful and caring, she made our experience there a joyful one. Finally, Irene at the front desk was exceptionally accomodating. I would absolutely stay here again, should I return to Alpharetta.

Have walked through the building multiple times such as eating out south city kitchen and grabbing Starbucks, but finally stayed overnight for the first time. Was very excited as the property looks so nice in the lobby. The lobby and amenities are probably one of the best things about this hotel. It’s beautiful. It’s also a great location to walk everywhere. I did have issues though. For 1, I’ve had nicer and bigger rooms in lower end Marriotts. Also, this place is kinda loud. It’s next to 400 so you’ll hear vehicles passing. This may be unique to my stay but there seemed to be lots of dogs and LOTS of barking in the hotel. It seemed like people left them in the hotel room and they just barked forever. Finally, I was surprised to see some details lacking. In our room the floor wasn’t properly finished at the entrance (picture attached). This doesn’t affect usability at all but a hotel this level would expect those details to not be overlooked. Overall is still a great located hotel and close to all the action meaning you don’t need to drive once you’re here.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again. It's very nice, the beds are comfortable. The location cannot be beat. There were a few things in that our toilet kept running and we had to keep adjusting it and also someone had stuck a towel up in a vent, and when we told the front desk, they said maybe it was condensation and somebody put it up there to keep it from dripping. That seems logical or that it was rattling, but it just seemed a little weird and needs a better fix.

First visit here. The staff was great. Valet parking was very quick. Rooms are clean, well kept. Would definitely stay here again. The location is great too. Right off of Highway 400, located within the Avalon so very easy to walk to stores, restaurants and the movie theater.

I can't give this hotel 5 stars because I had so many small issues. What I will say is the staff was phenomenal!! I want to publicly praise one person in particular named Edith. As a small business owner who prides herself in customer service, I can tell you without a doubt if my business was closer I would have offered her a job!! Edith from you just remembering who I was and making me feel special, to you addressing the issues I was having quickly in the midst of a very busy weekend, I want to say thank you!! You can tell when people pride themselves in what they are doing and you and your team are doing a great job. There were 2 gentleman in valet as well. One older (than most of the staff) and a younger one who was so very pleasant. Im sorry I can't remember their names. These people and the way the treated me from my arrival to my departure kept my irritation at the little things to a minimum.

Beautiful hotel. Great conference rooms. Modern and spacious guest rooms. Excellent service. Delicious food from the restaurant. Located in a great area with lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Very nice spot in an amazing environment.

I rated rooms based on what I have heard and the general impression of the hotel as we didn't stay in a room. We went here for a Christmas party hosted by them on behalf of my wife's company. I have to say the amenities were impressive, everything was very well done, from the table sets, the food , and the service.

After many stays the dog population has now surpassed tolerance. They are seated at the bar? Many of us want a floor without animals, I was told at check in above 5th floor were animal negative "guess again" ...like the hotel, restaurant and location but this animal thing with allergies isn't good.

Beautiful, clean, quiet, modern hotel in an amazing location. Despite being a very busy conference hotel, the hotel at Avalon wasn't noisy at all when we were in our room. There's a Starbucks within the building, the self-parking is easy, and the South City Kitchen located in the lobby is fantastic.

This is a beautiful hotel in a very nice location. My wife and I enjoy spending time here and being able to walk and explore the area. The rooms are modern and have plenty of plugs for our electronics. The staff are excellent and we felt very comfortable and safe during our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel. The area around the hotel provides great shopping and dining to explore.

We love this hotel and stay here every year after Christmas as a big family outing without the kids. The area around the hotel has so many restaurants and bars to choose from that you're guaranteed to find something you like. Our only issue is the AC doesn't run as well as we'd like. It always gets a little warm during the night even when you have the AC cranked down.

I really enjoyed my stay with this hotel. I found the rooms to be exceptionally clean. I also found the beds to be very comfortable. The staff here was very friendly and there is a nice bar connected to the lobby area. It is also in a very convenient location to several shops and restaurants. I was here for a conference at the attached convention center.

Fairly nice hotel but once you get past the South City Kitchen and Starbucks just off the lobby and into your room, it feels just like any other Marriott I stay at across the country. Nothing bad to say about this hotel - just nothing great either.

We're provided services for this hotel several times. Recently Homestar! The catering was delicious. Drinks good. Servers and staff was friendly and the ballroom was spacious and clean. Thanks for having us Hotel Avalon. We will see you all in April for another corporate event.

Great hotel, amazing rooms and good food in an around the hotel. The Staff is very thoughtful and tries to help you with everything. The only bummer is, and not understandable from a German Perspektive. We were there for a wedding and after the rehearsal dinner and the wedding we came back to the hotel at around midnight and wanted to get another round with the people from the event. The hotel lobby was popping filled with people surrounding the bar just a great atmosphere but the bar already closed?? Why is the bar closed when there are 60 to a 100 people still wanting to gather have fun? Only minus on the hotel for me.

Got a wonderfully spacious two Queen room during a weekend visit for an event. Loved everything about the room. Bathroom was clean and spacious as well. Front desk staff were very nice, friendly and accommodating especially considering that it was super crowded the weekend of my visit. Would definitely stay here again.

Simply not worth the money. I was in a corner King room and it was a shoebox, way too small for the price point. Interesting decor with lots of wallpaper finishes but it was peeling up on almost every corner in the room. I came in on a busy week and was charged $500 for one night and $250 the other. Shockingly high for the quality and current maintenance of a 4-star hotel. Lobby and main floor are nice and what you would expect at an event hotel. Just make sure to get a double bedded room so you have some space.

Nice place to stay. But the check in loading and unloading was a bit unorganized and very congested. Valet is nice and professional. Last the rooms are nice but the pillows are very uncomfortable and the rooms are very small. Had a good stay but expected more out if the room.

I’m in love with this hotel. It has everything you can dream of right at your fingertips. Simone brought us room service and she was a delight. The cheeseburger and fries were amazing. Shay handled our checkout and she was a sweetheart. We will definitely be back.

Top rate hotel. It is in a good location but very difficult to find as it is at the end of the street located in a nice shopping area complete with department stores, boutiques, restaurants and a movie theater! The rooms are nice and airy with lush robes with the hotel name. I love the nice flat screen tv encased in a nice picture frame. The small refrigerator has a bottle opener on the side of it. The beds are very comfortable and the bedding is nice and lush. The rooms are well appointed indeed

We live in the area and chose to stay here as a last minute birthday celebration. My coworkers were able to join us at the bar for drinks after their shift. The room was clean and the staff friendly. I even forgot some jewelry in the room the next morning and they helped me get it back. Valet was nice since their was an event the same night.

When I went back to gather some wedding gifts, Alicia at the front desk was outright unpleasant to me. I thought front desk concierge were supposed to be welcoming and helpful? Definitely a weird experience. The other staff seemed to notice this and everyone else was wonderful. They shouldn’t have to try to fix problems her attitude creates. It was kind of surprising. Everyone else was great, though. Thank you Avalon staff! Minus you Alicia. You need to go to the attitude store and get a new one.

For the price, and being autograph collection this Hotel is very disappointing. Hotel staff was extremely rude when checking in and Never once made eye contact. Mattresses in room are old and uncomfortable in our room. Feels like sleeping on the box spring. The fitness center is filthy. Windows are so dirty you can’t see out and dirt is about an inch deep on window seals and baseboards. No in room dining/room service options. Location is the positive of this hotel but We wouldn’t stay here again. Highly disappointed.

This was overall a really nice hotel experience and I would stay here again. Unfortunately the restaurant has a very limited menu but there are lots of other choices nearby. The cookies they have out are very tasty and the rooms are well appointed.

I attended a conference at the hotel accompanied by my boyfriend. The hotel is beautiful and well equipped. I loved the workout room was amazing and equipped with two Peloton bikes with cages. The surrounding area is also beautiful with lots of shops and eateries within walking distance. I was particularly pleased with the valet Brooks. He was kind, professional and personable. He shared intricate details about the hotel and the area and offered us assistance at any time throughout our stay. It’s always nice to be greeted with a smile and by someone who takes pride in their work. Kudos to him!

Sarah at the front desk said she just quit to get a job in banking because the management see the guests as sheep. "Money filled people that should accept what they get because the hotel has a good location." I called the front desk tonight for room service and the lady put me on hold for 5 minutes then hung up on me. I called back to order and she told me that I should order from Uber eats then gave the phone to a man that said the same then hung up on me. When you see the prices of this hotel you will agree that the customer service should be a touch above the motel 6, but in reality they are worse and less appreciative than a hotel that cares about the price they pay to stay. I have stayed all over the world at some of the best hotels and resorts and some of the not so great but I've never stayed somewhere that the front desk clerk couldn't remember the name of her manager or anyone in charge to talk to. The best I got was "I don't know their name but I'll pass along your message that you would like to hear from them and there's a chance they will get in touch with you". This is a money pit with no customer service and multiple basic items like Ice that should be provided to guests. The ice machine was also out and unplugged. The room service and guest reception is non-existent. The bar staff is incredibly rude and less than friendly. Victoria acted like ordering a drink or food was a struggle for her to find the time to provide service. Rude and would hide on her cell phone for 20 minutes at a time instead of providing service to customers. In a nutshell, if you want a good location this hotel is good. If you are accustomed to having the perks that come with price this is a solid Roadway Inn with an attitude. Too many options for this area to be taken by such a pit of management that doesn't even know their team.

  • 4/5 Bernadette J. 2 years ago on Google
Room was hot when we entered the room. Had to set to 64 degrees. No laundry bag in room had to ask for bag. Bed was too hard. Didn't get perks that were promised when I made reservations. Did get $20 coupon for food or drinks and didn't have to pay for our parking. The staff was attentive and friendly. The restaurant was not open for dinner but could eat at the bar. The Maitred was very helpful. He made our stay enjoyable.
