My friend recommended that we come here so we did, and I am glad that we did. The pub/bistro is very cute, I love the interior design. You can just turn up you don't have to book. The coffee was really good and the food was very tasty. The menu isn't massive but it is only a small bistro, and sadly there is only 1 vegan option, so maybe would recommend trying to have more vegan/vegetarian options. Overall lovely experience and would recommend

What a little gem!! Revisited. Anyone making a trip N/S on the M1 listen!! The Angel is just 1 1/2 miles from jnc 30 and its going a big difference to your journey than using the motorway service areas. Yeah it's costs more but oh my, does chef know how cook steak or what!!! We took a second visit to celebrate a birthday and the service was fantastic. Food is prepared to order and it's super fresh. The building looks like an old club but inside, the decor is really good.

Not the cheapest place you will find and not the quickest service based on tonight's experience but the quality of the food and service far outweighs any minor inconveniences. Our first visit tonight but it will be the first of many based on tonight's experience. The standard of the food was far and away above that expected from a village bistro. The place was busy because there is a 2 for 1 deal on pizza's on a Tuesday evening. We managed to get a table for two without booking after waiting a few minutes. The menu is quite small compared to many but I think that is a positive and gives them the ability to offer quality over quantity. The £5 stone baked garlic bread with mozzarella and caramelised onions starter was the beast garlic bread we had ever tasted. My cheddar cheese and leek risotto starter looked quite small for £9, especially in comparison to the garlic bread, but was rich and flavourful so made the portion size perfect. The £28 fillet steak with hand cut chips was, I thought, expensive but worth the price I was told. I only got to try the leftover chips which were incredibly moreish even with a full belly. My £17 wild garlic stuffed chicken breast was served with braised baby gem lettuce, fondant potato and a pea and smoked bacon fricassee and was one of the most memorable dinners I have had. The chicken was perfectly cooked and succulent but what blew me away was the lettuce and fricassee, I could have happily had a plateful of those on their own.

Been a regular visitor to this place for a few years and have never been disappointed. Marianne and her staff work hard to provide a good experience for the customers. Service, food quality, ambience all deserve top marks . Word of advice though, if you want a meal served in 3 minutes at a venue where you can let your kids run round, while you chat about your holiday in Orlando, then this may not be the best place for you. Purely my subjective view.

Pleasant decor, tasty food and the staff themselves seemed pleasant enough. However, I don't think the speed of the service was acceptable at all. Attending a hen party for a family member, we had both booked ahead and pre-ordered, with two just two additions on the night. We arrived at 6pm and weren't given starters until almost 7.15pm. The main course wasn't brought until 7.45pm and even when my mum and I went on to choose dessert, it took another 25 minutes to bring it to us. We hadn't been drinking and the pub itself didn't appear to be that busy at all, in fact the bar staff stood around for quite a while. Would only go again if prepared for the most leisurely of meals.

Been here twice now for Sunday roast and the food, service and atmosphere has been spot in. Shame there was no chicken option on the roasts but the beef or pork are great. Good burger too.

Had Sunday Lunch today 2 July Was absolutely delicious, the beef was so tender it melted in your mouth, variety of vegetables, crispy roast potatoes, giant Yorkshire pudding. Dessert fruit crumble and custard amazing. Glass of Malbec and finished with coffee. Definitely recommended x

Review based on a group of 20 having an early Sunday Xmas lunch. Normally you see plates of gorgeous food with no idea of how appetising it is, what better to see what was left of a turkey lunch with all the trimmings, that's right two Brussel sprouts, and they were the only disappointment, hard as bullets. The desert, bread and butter pudding was unconventionally presented but tasted superb, only let down by the canned custard. Overall good food in pleasant surrounding with good service.

We had a great night last night, for the Wife's Birthday I just want to give a shout out to the restaurant as it was great, and i highly recommend them. We decided to try the Restaurant in Spinkhill Angel & Harlequin Bistro the restaurant did not disappoint. The food was fantastic & the service was great. We never wanted for anything. The drinks kept flowing. The steak was cooked to perfection, we asked for medium rare and it was spot on, the giant stuffed portobello mushroom was delicious, and the hand-cut chunky chips also delicious. Polite helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. And the price was far cheaper than expected, We will definitely be back. We then ended the night in the best pub in town for a game of pool @thecarrwoodarms

I really wanted to leave a five star review; popped in on the off-chance they could fit us in for Sunday lunch. They were really friendly and welcoming, and had good vegetarian / gluten free options (including gluten free beer). The mushroom Wellington and vegan pizza were as good as it gets. Sadly the salted caramel cheesecake was so salty it was inedible. I complained to two different members of staff but wasn't offered an alternative nor anything off the bill.

Came here last night, after booking for 2 adults. When we arrived the place wasn’t busy at all. We was sat down straight and had our drinks order taken straight away. Then waited 15 minutes for our drink to be served. Whilst waiting we ordered our food (starter and main at the same time), ordered 1 drink whilst waiting this came straight away. We then waited 45 minutes for our starters to be brought, garlic mushrooms and garlic bread. We ordered another drink when the waitress brought our starters. We’d only finished our starters 2 minutes and our main was brought out, stuffed chicken with Mediterranean veg - the chicken definitely wasn’t stuffed and the Mediterranean veg was like what you’d use to make soup, and the steak stroganoff - never seen stroganoff like this before, the sauce was bright in colour and very runny and had a skin on the top as of it had been reheated! A further 15 minutes later our drink arrived. Not the service we was expecting after hearing some very good reviews of the place. Highly unlikely we will take another trip here which is a shame as it is on our doorstep!

We found it in The Extra Mile Book which said it was open at 9am. We arrived at 10 and met the owner who said that they opened at 11. However , he invited us in as we said all we wanted was a coffee and to use their facilities. He made us an excellent coffee and produced cake as well which was delicious. We really appreciated his kindness and hospitality and were able to continue our journey refreshed.

We went as a family group of 5 , age ranges between 33 & 87. The menu had plenty of selections for all of us. The waitresses were helpful, attentive, confident and friendly. There is plenty of car parking space and also room provided to seat outside on nice days. There are 2 entrances, one at the front which is disabled friendly and one at the back off the car park that requires customers to climb a few steps. Being disabled myself , I used the front entrance . If you like a picturesque country setting with good food and attentive staff, you will love The Angel and Harlequin Bistro. Wholly recommend a visit.

I found this local Bistro recently and have visited on a couple of occasions; once for lunch and another time for dinner. The Angel and Harlequin is a quaint looking pub on the exterior but cosy and chicly decorated inside. The staff are all friendly and service throughout my visits was prompt but not rushing. The food was generally all of a good quality and appropriate portion sizes. I had an eggs Benedict for the lunch, and a camembert to share, burger and milkshake for the evening meal. They were all priced fairly but I did find the ice cream milkshake a little plain. Will definitely be visiting again and well worth the trip if you are in the area.

Stopped here on our way home on the off chance . We got a table and was welcomed by friendly staff. The meal was amazing and probably the best I'd had in a while The reason for 4 stars not 5 is the cake for dessert was dry and appeared beyond its sell by . I would definitely recommend the place just not the cake .

Wow amazing food and lovely staff. We had 2 people in our party that were gluten and lactose intolerant and couldn't have Alcohol in cooking due to being Muslim. Chef and waitress went out of their way to ensure the food was correct. Lovely food. Well cooked. Highly recommended

Very nice food and drink. 4 of us went for a late lunch. I had Fish and chips and mushy peas and the others had pizza. The fish was cooked to perfection and there was plenty of it. The pizzas were good too. For dessert I had Sticky toffee pudding which I highly recommend. Superb.
