What a timeless place! Had a bowl of homemade soup and a Devine cloverleaf roll that was most likely made on site. Great service, perfect for a quick meal while downtown. Diner fare at its best.

I had the waygu beef with teriyaki glazed pineapple burger and my sister had the ribeye steak sandwich. Appetizer was crispy ravioli. All was amazing!

Highly recommend their chicken dinner! Our waitress was sweet & attentive. We will come again. 🤗♥️✨

Incredibly fast service, such a nice little historical cafe serving food since the 1880s. The biscuit and gravy was not too good, but sunny side up eggs , hash brown, and bagel breakfast sandwich was pretty good. Didn't expect too much , just happy we got to try it.

This restaurant was opened in 1888. The food was awesome. The pesto vegetarian burger was one of the best I have had. Potato salad was great too. Everyone enjoyed the food. It’s located on a beautiful street.

I absolutely love an old-fashioned diner. This place is perfect. They had 50's - 60's music playing, a small town local feel atmosphere, great friendly service, and the food was awesome too. (Real maple syrup! Yes!) The only way I could think to make it one step better would be to have sockhop uniforms, but good luck getting the wait staff on board for that. 😉 This little cafe has become a favorite. I can't wait to come back next time I'm in Wisconsin.

A nice diner with friendly service. The ambiance inside seems a bit more modern than what I expected for an old time diner. The food was okay, but nothing overly special. The Cole slaw was good. Onion rings weren't very good. Fries were pretty average. Prices are reasonable for the portions. There is on street parking available. There is a small patio out front with tables. Men's bathroom is down in the basement and may present some difficulty for those with mobility issues.

I sat outside for a late, lazy breakfast on Monday morning... Beautiful weather. My waitress was friendly and kind... and the food, pumpkin pancakes was delicious... and the sherbet mimosa is now my favorite mimosa ever... why has no one done this before!?!?! The place was recommended to me by a co-worker. I will return and highly recommend it to others.

This little diner lives up to their reviews. The food was excellent, servers kind and hardworking. They offer both great breakfast and lunch options. I had the Wayun Burger with fries. Excellent flavor! They also have hand dipped shakes and a bar for drinks and coffee.

1st time customers. We ate here for breakfast around 7:30. We maybe waited 5 minutes for our food. ... biscuits and gravy and my husband had pancakes, eggs and bacon. The food was hot. I am a lover of all things biscuits and gravy. This was not my favorite because I prefer a lot less sausage in my gravy. But it's a personal preference. I also felt like the biscuits were thin. Not fluffy as I am accustomed to. Again personal preference I would still order it again. My husband commented several times that the pancakes were hot and stayed hot throughout the meal. Plus they had peanut butter. Atmosphere is 50s or 60s decor. Fun looking at all the pictures and history.

My daughter and I sat outside. It was warm, but we wanted to enjoy the summer eating outside. No one paid attention to us despite there being people at over half the tables. We stood up and went inside and got a table, but explained we wanted to sit outside. She said sit anywhere. We did and no one came with menus or drinks. I went back in and got menus. The hostess still didn't send a server with drinks (two older servers working the small outdoor seating area). The servers were over heated and had no energy. They were not attentive and barely friendly. We had burgers- they were good and fries were good...coleslaw was yummy, but better if it had 90% less dressing. Nothing was amazing. It was all very basic and the service by all staff that we saw (hostess and outside servers) was terrible. The best part was being with my daughter on a sunny summer day!

Went for breakfast from 30 min away, for my birthday got there at 11. No breakfast after 11, no exceptions. Was rushed to the table and immediately asked to order. Had not even opened the menus. Ordered coffee and settled on a piece of Snickers pie instead of waffles or something yummy. It was awful, we Ate two bites. Paid 20$ charge and tip and left. Very rushed, terrible attitudes from all staff. Even cashier was unhappy and it showed. 9/12/23

This is a restaurant I always insist on going to when I am back in town. The Caesar salad is delicious, the milkshakes are heavenly and there’s just something about the rolls- I could probably eat 10 of them. I will never not come back here!

Really amazing people here. Our waitress had a mishap and dropped our plates. No big deal. Our food was quickly remade and delicious. When we went to check out we were shocked that the Cafe comped our meal that was totally above and beyond any expectation. Really really wonderful people!

I loved this place the moment I walked in the door. It reminds me of a classic diner, especially with the semi-circle bars to sit at. The pot roast sandwich and tuna melt sandwiches were absolutely amazing. We made sure to add brown gravy on the side to dip the pot roast sandwich and fries in. Everything was so flavorful and the staff was so friendly. What a great hidden gem of Wausau. Can't wait for my next visit!

Julie from Mint Cafe was fantastic to work with for our wedding. Instead of trying to up-sell us, she made genuine recommendations based on what our wants were. She was quick to respond and very thorough in her communication. For example, I was asking her last-minute dietary questions for guests, and she responded quickly with great detail. On the wedding day she arrived on time, had plenty of food, and it tasted great. She saved the day for us, because our wedding cake was supposed to be pre-cut when it arrived, but it wasn't. She told us not to worry about it, and she would take care of it. Just amazing.

Old time cafe/dinner experience. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Patrons were very sociable and welcoming too. I had the liver & onions. It was outstanding. Glad we stopped in for a bite to eat.

There were seven of us, we all ordered something different. Even the liver and onions! Some had drinks. Everyone loved their food. I had the tuna melt which I haven't had for a long time and it was delicious and perfectly cooked. Service was excellent! It's a small casual place, and good. I know they cater as well and someone who I know used them as caterers was always pleased.
