Nice lake, great walk around it, takes about 45min (~5km). Can walk around it even with high water levels. About 20% of the walk is along the edge of the road. There is parking and toilets at the north end. It is good for swimming in summer. There is a good holiday park sitting at the north end with a range of accommodation on offer.

A walk worth doing,you can walk right round the lake & have a swim half way or at the end. We parked in front of the motor camp & have walked clockwise & anti clockwise. Suitable for all fitness levels. Lovely scenery.

Beautiful vast lake, with free parking opposite the Top10 holiday park. Highly recommend to gaze in awe at this stunning view.

A beautiful lake, just 8 km drive from Rotorua city. Plenty of parking space, place for bbq and toilets available. The view from the lookout point just a 1 km ahead is mesmerizing. You can kayak, swim, or fish in the lake.

Stunning location to visit. Great walking/mountain tracks in the surrounding bush too. Attended a Aramax Walk and Run 13km event here.

The Blue Lake Track is easy to walk. The scenery on the way is pleasant, with different vegetation and birds, as well as red dragonflies.

Looking at photos is so beautiful however being there is awesome. So majestic view.

This is an enjoyable 5.5 km walking track just outside of Rotorua. It was so easy to find that we drove past by without knowing that we're already there. There are plenty of parking on the south side of the lake. The signage was a bit weak as it only says look out without telling us that this is the south side car park of the Blue Lake.

Beautiful swim spot! Not a fan of swimming but couldn't help getting in the water here.

It's a beautiful lake, even though the water weren't as clear as it is in some of the pictures on Google. There's no mistaking where its descriptive name comes from.
