The BBQ pork pho is my favourite . The broth they use is so yum . Whenever I’m in Rotorua this is my go to

I had high expectations for this place given the reviews but was disappointed. The meat and noodle portion was tiny for its price (egg was extra $3, so this bowl was $20). Although the soup of their beef pho was good, it lacked an acidic element. The noodles had a weird scaly texture, I much prefer pho from try it out. FYI there is no customer toilet and the public toilets were annoyingly closed when I needed it.

As a vietnamese born in saigon, Id say this is the worst Vietnamese restaurant Ive ever tried. We ordered BBQ Pork on rice and Pork and Seafood Noodle Soup. BBQ Pork is just some thinly sliced “boiled” pork not enough seasoning drenched with oil, thats not BBQ Pork at all. Side veggies inedible, rice was dry. Pork and Seafood Noodle soup is misleading, images shown noodles( yellow), but came out as rice noodles. Its pretty much rice noodles with Pho broth( very sweet, no thanks), and with topping of sliced pork, prawn and squid. For me, it tasted like Pho: rice noodles+pho broth but with seafood toppings… and pork. Weirdest combination ever tbh. We only had the proteins and left everything else as it was terrible. Im sorry but I can cook at home better than that.

Delicious, wholesome Vietnamese food after a long day! I had the OG beef pho and their famous egg drip coffee. The Pho was great on it's own but there is the option to add your own chilli for a bit more spice, which I did. Both the Pho and the Coffee were wonderful. I left feeling very satisfied with my meal :)

Excellent Vietnamese place 👏 Highly recommend the summer rolls. They are fresh, big and super delicious, the egg coffee is worth a go as well. Friendly staff and fast service too.

Saigon 60s is the epitome of Vietnamese cuisine abroad. We tried the vegetarian noodle soup and the Vietnamese pancakes (both vegan dishes by the way) which were all incredibly delicious. The generous portion sizes are extremely filling and the casual atmosphere right in the heat of Rotorua provides a very comfortable environment to eat your meal. There were quite a few vegan options in addition to the ones I tried and I look forward to coming back to try more!

We have been to this eatery a number of times over 2020 and 2021. We are from out of town. We noticed the service level hae been dropping over time. The wait time got longer if they have take away orders - which appears to get the priority. We were there on a late Sunday afternoon and they had about 3 tables in there so not busy. But the wait for our food from the kitchen was 25mins. And during all that time, take away food kept on coming out and walk out the door. Kitchen needs to work better it get more staff on. This place does not appear to have air con/heat pumps so gets very hot inside during summer months. Plenty parking spaces in front or nearby streets.

Delicious pho and soup. The spicy lemongrass soup was one of the tastiest things I've eaten in the area, though be warned, it is legitimately spicy! The perfect amount of spice for me, absolutely delicious. The flavor of the soup is also rich and deep.

Limited seat. Beef Pho is ok. Pho is a bit hard though. If you haven’t tried iced egg coffee before, I would suggest this item.

Have you tried the Vietnamese egg coffee before? This place probably does the next best egg coffee after northern Vietnam! Multiple food varieties to choose from!

Nice authentic Vietnamese noodle! My favorite is spicy pho (noodle soup). I tried both - regular one and spicy one. Nice and relaxed environment with friendly staff. Recommended if you like Vietnamese food.

The pho soup is a bit sweet. They don’t serve with lime nor basil. I asked for lime but since they don’t hv, she gave me lemon instead. After adding ground chili and lemon juice, it’s perfect. The beef is very tender and tasty. The pho broth is boiled with only cow bones, no pork bones. So Muslim can eat.

📍Saigon’60S Originally, we planned to have Japanese food for lunch, but since we arrived late, we ended up finding a Vietnamese restaurant on the roadside. 🍗Lemongrass chicken with rice Taste 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑 🏮Review🏮The chicken was a bit tough, which affected the overall taste, and the flavor was also on the milder side. 🐮Beef Pho Taste 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑 🏮Review🏮The broth was pleasantly sweet, but unfortunately, the beef slices were slightly overcooked. Hygiene 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕 Service Attitude 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗 Likelihood of revisiting 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑 💰Total cost: $39

I had the duck soup and also the duck with coconut green sauce both were very yummy, however the summer rolls ( pork & prawn ) were huge but only had 1 small piece of pork no prawn and packed with salad not at all what they should be

We ordered a beef rice noodle, spicy lemongrass noodle, Baguette, spring roll and pancake with coffees. The baguette is fantastic. The noodles are overall a bit sweet but it’s better with chillies. Coffees are pretty okay. Recommend this place!

Very fresh and vibrant Vietnamese food, the way it's supposed to be. My vermicelli salad with lemongrass chicken was outstanding and her stir fry with tofu was on point. The summer rolls we shared were full of bright fresh veggies and prawns, but are a bit pricey at $5 each. Nothing was cheap, but the quality of the food was high enough to make us feel we had gotten good value regardless. Funky atmosphere too. Very highly recommended.

TLDR: vegan options if you're in a pinch, but would recommend elsewhere if you want to visit Flavortown. Service: pretty solid service and knowledgeable about vegan vs. not vegan. They even recommended NOT getting the stir fry noodle because without fish sauce "it is bland." But then our drinks were forgotten. No one else was in the restaurant, but yet we felt a bit like we were bothering them. Food: spring rolls were fine, but a bit greasy for our taste. The pancake was very underwhelming with little flavor or punch the average Vietnamese pancake should have. The filling was JUST raw mung beans and nothing special. The noodle soup was decent, but again, nothing flavorful to make me recommend it. It was warm, it was cooked, and it was fast, but it was not great.

server/waitress not wearing mask. Food: Udon texture was perfect. Stronger flavours than what we had last time. husband loves their salad with pork. I enjoyed the cold coffee too and avocado smoothie.

Really nice food, delish avocado smoothies, reasonable pricing ☺️ (But FYI there is no loo)
