Manager i think it was, was very friendly. Unfortunately thats about as pleasant as it gets. Room was very worn, with a few maintenance issues. There was tea and coffee provided, but no jug for hot water, instead a pot. Towels were changed daily which was good, as was soaps and shampoo. Not sure if pool was running, but was very dirty. Also i think our beds had fleas, was very itchy (even without the blanket). I did not tell staff or management as you would expect these simple things to be dealt with anyways. I only rate as a 2 because the manager was so friendly, would be a 3 however lady that served me before the manager was rather rude

Do not stay here. The room we received did not have light bulbs in the lights due to them not working. There was no tv remote and the spa tub did not work properly. When management was confronted with these short comings, they offered us a room with the same electrical problems. Management also stated they would provide a refund and notify us the next day. Five days later no call. When we called them they asked to pull up the file and and call us back in ten minutes. It never happened and no answer to our subsequent calls and no refund. If you want waste your money just burn it, you'll get more for it.

The staff at the facility are nice. But i cant say the same about room 22. We booked in for 6 people (4 Adults and 2 kids) there was only 1 spoon and 2 plates in the room. so off i went to office to request more. There was black mould in the bathroom where the wall paper was coming off. The TV wouldn't work so again i had to go to the office to report it. I bought people there all the way from South Africa needless to say they were disgusted. Should there should be an inventory in each room that should be checked as soon as a customer leaves or arrives??? There was no bedding for my kids so again i had to go to the office to request bedding. i wouldn't recommend the facility. You pay so and only to be disgusted with the facility. Our fridge kept switching off so the meat went off. The stove was not working correctly so we had to make another plan.

very bad experience! everything is dirty and disgusting. I would rather sleep in my car than in this motel. Lightings looks like gonna fall apart; spa bath with thick yellowish scum; shower box drainage not work. When I check in at the counter, heard the other customers complaining overcharge on the phone. So definitely not secure to paid by visa card with this motel. Bed cover look like never been wash with stain; I really regret I didn't read the review before I book. all the comments from past customer is not exaggerating. u can imagine how worst is this motel. Don't be fool by the website pictures. Just misleading.

My mum came across from the UK on her first trip to NZ, so I booked 5 nights at the Heritage. The first room we went into was only a 1 bedroom, when I'd booked a 2 bedroom. The manager moved us to another room, but the room was very dirty and rundown, so I told the manager I would't stay in this room. (Thick dirt around the skirting boards, cooker top dirty, carpets badly stained and sofa torn). The manager moved us to a third room. Our first impressions of this room was ok - rundown but it looked clean. I opened a cupboard to get out a cup and noticed a bowl was dirty. I took it out of the cupboard to clear it, but found all four bowls were rotten dirty, one still had soggy noodles in it. I was so disappointed, we'd drove all the way from Christchurch which took us approx 22hrs all in all, and this was my mums first impression of a New Zealand hotel. (Website very misleading). We repacked the car, and informed the manager we would not be staying in this hotel as the cleanness of the rooms was disgusting. JUST TO ADD TO THE ABOVE, the manager confirmed he would not charge any fees to my credit card, YET he has taken for one nights stay and now I'm fighting to get it back.

Asked for a quiet room and given one on the main highway without any apologies. Room advert for a "One Room Apartment" depicts a spa bath with the notation "One Room Apartment" the reason we booked it. Not there and told we didn't book it. No TV in Bedroom , not a big deal but disappointing. Cleaning staff super friendly. Well equipped kitchen. Bed settee in lounge totally shot, Had to watch TV sitting on hard chairs. Emailed directly to them these issues. No response Overall I have given it a generous two star.

Rooms need a bit of T.L.C. Very unclean, stained carpets, hair on couches, big red stain on sheet, minimal cooking utensils. Mini putt course was great but when they issue you with a sand wedge not very fun at all tennis court is a disaster that is coming from my 9 year old son. When room service was done only dishes and dirty towels were done no vaccuming or beds made up. Spa area untidy big weeds growing but on a good note, nice big heated pool.Paid $480 for 3 nights was very disappointed will not book in there again

Spectacularly rude and unhelpful staff, unclean facilities, and terrible beds. The room probably hasn't had anything done to it in 30+ years. We we're turned away from check-in at 1:30, came back at 3:00 and they still weren't ready. At that point we should have just left, we would have been much better off. I've stayed in hundreds of hostels in developing countries and this hotel is still one of the worst places I've stayed.

This is a no go place to stay. Not happy with our one night only stay Rooms are very dated with the maintenance well overdue. Holes in walls, kitchen bench top burnt and dented. The pool we didn't even bother with as it was dirty. Website must be using older photos as they look nothing like the place is now. Staff make you pay upfront so when one complains they won't refund.
