Was probably too confident that the Amen Clinic would be able to help us with my son’s extremely challenging mental health but we were at our breaking point as parents watch our son deteriorate into his own world. Though the financial part would be difficult for us to manage we felt it would be worth anything to get him better. Whatever it takes. We made the trip. Spent two sleepless nights while monitoring & helping our son manage the testing. They were kind & professional. Can’t describe the disappointment & heartbreak we felt when clinic told us they could not help with our son. Imagine the disbelief, anger & frustration when refused any reimbursement. That’s right. Thousands of dollars flushed down the toilet. I feel the services are valid & make sense in theory. Just know that it’s like a roulette table with your money. A TOTAL GAMBLE!

This is a fascinating process with scanning the brain and seeing the activity. It will all make sense if you read the books amen wrote on the brain. If you follow the recommendations they have for you according to your scan results, it does make a difference. We did this process for a family member. They diagnose and treat according to each person. It was a big difference for our family and we noticed hood changes. It is expensive, yet effective.

After reading Dr. Amen’s Change Your Brain Change Your Life I decided to reach out to the clinics. I have dealt with anxiety and panic attacks for 10 years, and worsening weird visual changes and derealization, along with other symptoms, since the end of 2018. I was pretty much feeling out of options, and the Amen Clinics are supposed to be the best of the best. The patient care coordinator I initially spoke to was very nice and set me up with Dr. Creado. The new patient paperwork and tests took a long time and made me think the clinic was extremely thorough, and I was only a virtual patient. Even though they took all my history, some of what they recorded was not accurate, and listed multiple times I had “low mood” (meaning depressed) when I never said that to them. They also listed that I didn’t know what side of my head I hit when I was 10, but I do know, they just never asked. I was pretty shocked that on my first appointment Dr. Creado said I should take an anti-psychotic and an anti-convulsant, because I specifically told the patient care coordinator that I want the most holistic approach, and Amen Clinics advertises that they have all these new and natural tools instead of prescribing meds. That doesn’t seem to be true. It felt like to me that the doctors have a set list of recommendations they give to each patient - keto diet, Amen supplements, set schedule, exercise, therapy, sleep better, etc. - and take what we prescribe. The only explanation I got about what could be going on in my brain is certain parts are overactive. I was not comfortable taking the medication, especially because multiple sources online say Lamictal interferes with birth control pills, but he insisted on the same two medications. Over a couple months we talked about other options, and I tried a different anti-convulsant, but it always came back to what I was not comfortable taking, and what would interfere with my birth control. He said that he had Olympic athletes on these two medications, and the clinic would be supportive, but I asked him if I started the meds and had a serious concern if I could get a hold of him for a 5 minute conversation (not just ask his assistant) and he said that would be coddling. At that point I didn’t want to work with him anymore. It is completely reasonable to talk with the doctor prescribing the medication if there’s a serious concern. Any time I had a question up until that point, the emailed responses were always “get checked by a doctor” for liability reasons. My symptoms are severe enough that I’m not currently leaving my house, so having to find another doctor to ask about medication side effects is extremely stressful. There was no help on the keto diet, just google it and figure it out yourself. I asked for help finding a qualified therapist because I had an extremely bad experience with one in 2020, and all I got was go on betterhelp.com. Dr. Creado set me up with an integrated doctor in the DC clinic, but it seems like clinics don’t communicate with each other at all, I had to be the in between person to figure out where my blood tests results were. I didn’t get any explanation about my blood tests from him, he said the integrated doctor would explain it all (long story short: half of my tests she never saw and none of them were explained). It didn’t feel like doctors had adequate time to actually read your file and think about what could be the root cause of your issues, it’s just give them all the basic recommendations and some meds to make them feel better. All in all it felt like Dr. Creado was a bit misogynistic, and you pay a lot of money for the same thing any psychiatrist will do - medication management. Amen Clinics has built a good money making machine, but at the expense of the patients. Edit- I understand some diagnosis require medication. But Dr. Creado gave me the most vague and generalized “diagnosis” that required no effort on his part, generalized anxiety disorder, unspecified “mood” disorder, fatigue, and panic attacks. Everything I already knew.

Donny I can not believe the negative reviews they don't even make sense - anyway I have been with amen clinic for 3 years now and I was ready at any day to walk off a cliff. And these Dr's and staff have literally saved my life - I can not be more proud of the staff and Dr P - this Dr is the true meaning of a Doctor and if I were Mr Amen I would do whatever I could to make sure that she is apart of the staff for EVER . This Dr literally saves lives and you simply can not say more

So disappointed with this place. Dr. Amen talks about TOXIC medications and natural solutions. $4500 later they recommended my daughter stay on her current medication and INCREASE THE DOSE. In addition they recommended a ton of “their” supplements to add to her current regimen. Such a shame to give people hope who are severely depressed. Scans only validate (meaning she told them she was depressed and they said her brain said she was depressed 👎🏽)the issues and do not help with the treatment plan. Do not waste your hard earned money.

Beware of the false 5 star reviews left by friends of the staff in attempt to save face. Notice how the bulk of the 5 star reviews go directly against the vast majority of credible 1 star and otherwise negative reviews. This company is completely disorganized. They seem to be incapable of keeping appointments and following through with schedules. Staff has zero Integrity and you can rest assured private information will be shared. Office staff is young and dismissive. Total money mill here. Expect complications and the run-around. Buyer beware.

My experience is so negative with them. Now I have a huge Care Credit bill and no real solutions. All these 1-star reviews are the truth: 1.Doctor is late to the appointments 2.Expensive supplements do nothing but make you feel more ill. 3. No real solutions. 4.Unprofessional all around. And to add to that, they are trying to hold on to my medical records. They said they faxed them to my doctor but they lied every time. They want to hold onto your records so you keep going through them. SAVE YOUR MONEY. GO TO A HOSPITAL FOR SPECT SCANS

So far, we've been extremely pleased with the process of getting help for our child. The care team at Chicago Amen Clinic is knowledgeable,dependable, and efficient. From scheduling initial appointment, scans , and follow up visits, we feel well taken care of. Our questions, concerns , and requests have been addressed with empathy and insight. The treatment plan is working well and we are on the road to better brain health for our kiddo.

This is not a review, rather a request for those leaving reviews. I am carefully reading the reviews after having read several of Dr. Amens books. The 5-star reviews contain little, if any information about RESULTS. They are about the nice people at the clinic, the responsiveness, process. If you leave a review, either negative or positive, RESULTS please! No more reviews, that honestly seem bogus, about the process or the nice people. The negative reviews are about disappointment and anger regarding a lack of results.

I originally went to the Amen clinics to see my brain’s activity and blood flow to get a baseline to compare to as I start to age. (I am in my early 50’s). I also was wondering about a few minor focus and memory issues. I received so much more! The staff was super kind and patient with me. And later when I had my follow up with Dr Goldman she was wonderful in explaining the findings and had several recommendations as to what I can do now locally where I am from in the Indianapolis area. I did schedule follow up appointments with Dr Goldman via Zoom as I am looking forward to optimizing my brain now. Such a great experience! Highly recommend!

Dr Balci, the Amen Clinic staff and my Patient Outcome Manager, Jennifer Crandall, are amazing. They knew my concerns and fears, and made me feel extremely relaxed. The fear of the unknown is what got me. What was the damage that was done to my brain, can it be fixed, how much long term damage was done and what do I do next. The Amen staff, held my hand and walked me through the entire process. I will recommend the Amen Clinic anyone that I think may benefit.

I sought out the Amen Clinic at a challenging point in my life as I was desperate to find hope and answers. Everyone that I spoke with or worked with was very kind, caring and helpful. One person in particular stood out to me like the ray of sunshine that she is - Jenn Crandall. At my first appt with her, she cried with me. I knew in my soul that she was something special. She gave me more hope than anyone I have ever met. She gave me reassurance that I was in the right place. She went above and beyond to help me. I'm not sure I can put into words how much appreciation I have for her. She is a true gem and an angel on earth. Id give her all the stars in the sky as a rating if I could.

The attention to detail at Amen Clinic is incredible. Throughout the whole process, each staff member thoroughly assists you with compassion. I'm not resistant to treatment, but I am exhausted from my mental health journey. The way my case manager and psychiatrist approached this following my scans was excellent. They guided me one step at a step, adding a supplement, trying a new medicine. Most importantly know this; the two medicines my doctor prescribed are WONDERFUL, both with practically no side effects. I am so grateful and hope to see all who battle mental illness find treatment at a place like this. God bless all of you, and may God bless all those searching for peace!

Amen clinic is amazing and offers incredible service. I went because of my severe anxiety and panic attacks. Both have subsided to very low levels and I don’t remember the last time I had a panic attack. Dr A explained everything and answered all of my questions. Jen my case manager was always available for help. Amen clinic changed my life and I am able to do the things that I enjoy

I cannot say enough about this clinic, from the initial contact to my meeting with Dr. Goldman. Dr. Goldman was attentive, thorough, and caring. She was able to order labs and determine if something else was contributing to my symptoms. To my surprise, I have mold!!!!!!!! And she could see the toxicity on my brain. Her assistant and everyone at the front desk has been responsive and helpful. Ariben went the extra mile to solve a prescription issue and provided resources when the pharmacy continued to be pain. Check in was a breeze and the clinic was nicely decorated for the holidays. Great experience at Amen Clinic! The staff is all friendly, professional and organized! Loved meeting Dr. Goldman and learning about the brain scans I had done. I was concerned about my brain function and health. I love that Dr. Goldman also uses an integrative approach to recommended treatments. Dr. Goldman's assistant Angel Spencer is also professional and timely! I was also impressed with Adam and look forward to visits with him. I highly recommend Amen Clinic!!

This is just a money grab! DON'T DO IT! I worked with a Dr Creado. He is the worst doctor I have ever worked with. The Amen clinic takes advantage of vulnerable people who are desperate for help. SHAME ON THEM!! They DO NOT provide the service they advertise. SCAM!!! SCAM!!! THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!!

From start to finish, the system used by Amen Clinics is head and shoulders above anything else available in the mental health care field, from my experience. Instead of relying purely on trial and error, it uses a highly systematic and scientific method, designed for maximum efficiency and accuracy. As a scientist, using their services made the most sense given all the alternatives, and I was not disappointed. I thank the staff at the Chicago office as sincerely as can be expressed for helping me get my LIFE back on track.

This has been a 10 + year journey for us and we have experienced the full gamut from blame to shame. FINALLY, we have encountered respect and insight with Dr. Goldman and the Amen Clinic. We appreciate her functional medicine approach since our son typically does not do well with Rx medications. Dr. Goldman actually listens to us as parents and it is much appreciated. We know that there is no "magic pill" and that this will be a lifelong journey for our son; however, we are encouraged that Dr. Goldman has us on the right track. So grateful!

Amen has really given me hope. The scan technician was so patient w me, being so kind and explaining everything as she saw i was super nervous. I’m not done with the program just yet but I’ve met with the doctor twice now and i truly feel like he is listening. I didnt want to take a medication and there was no whats buts or ifs about it. He just nodded his head & recommended me other avenues, my comfort being his priority.

We went to the Amen Clinic in Costa Mesa, CA. We needed an evaluation and report for my nephew’s SSDI hearing. When I first contacted them, they LISTENED to what my needs were and then proceeded to bend over backwards to reach that goal ASAP, as we weren’t given much time. EVERYONE was FRIENDLY and PROFESSIONAL!! It was all about our needs! I can’t say enough about the Amen Clinics! Everyone should go to the Amen Clinics before anywhere else!! Thank You!!

Dr. Goldman is awesome! She is very knowledgeable, kind, and listens. Her explanation of our medical history, SPECT scans, and treatment plan was detailed, extremely thorough, and fairly easy to understand. The Amen Clinic... The gift that keeps on giving!! I struggled with chronic insomnia, high anxiety, all-day brain fog and forgetfulness! Since going to the Amen Clinic, I am sleeping through the night, much more relaxed, focused and remembering things from the past that previously, I couldn't recall. Dr. Creado prescribed a perfect supplement and vitamin combination along with relaxation techniques that has led to my success! He is incredibly kind and truly wants to help his clients! I am blessed to have made the BEST decision, by going to the Amen Clinic!

Brought my child to the Chicago clinic in October 2022. Second scan was canceled with less than 24 hours notice, but we were already there (takes two flights from where we live). It took MULTIPLE calls to speak to the clinic director who among other things told me if we wanted the 2nd scan completed that was "our choice & the clinic would not reimburse us for the travel expenses". I told her my choice was to get it done as scheduled, but she maintained the clinic had no control over the situation and we are out of luck. The clinic director didn't make me feel seen or heard and her attitude was one of frustration with ME for continuing to disagree with her. No one from the corporate office has followed up despite several messages being left for Ms. Clover in HR. I am beyond disgusted & disappointed.

My adult son has seen countless physicians over the last 17 years and none have been as knowledgeable, caring and compassionate as Dr Goldman. Everyone we have had contact with at the Amen Clinic give me the genuine feeling that they really understand our journey and sincerely want to help us.

Dr. Easton and his assistant Jocelyn are an amazing team and are always super fast and reliable when it comes to medications and appointments. Couldn’t ask for better help!!! 10/10 Also saw a comment talking about how the reviews were about the people and not the results. Let me tell you I have lived a majority of my life suicidal and being misdiagnosed. I now can be free from my own traumas and sadness. These people have helped me so much and I cannot thank them enough

Dr. Abazotoaie has been wonderful to work with. He's been very clear about the information from the scans and has a pleasant and compassionate way of relating to me. He is always attuned to any questions I have and genuinely presents a whole health approach to my depression. I have a better understanding of what's going on in my brain health and feel I have so many more tools to treat my symptoms. His assistant Krissy has also been so very accommodating and a joy to talk with.

If you need help with your mind and/or body this is the place to go. It is so much more than going to see a psychiatrist. You can actually see how your brain is functioning instead of talking about it and just getting a diagnosis. They helped me at my lowest point and now I’m living life like I didn’t before. Per results they give you a curated plan to optimize yourself. It’s okay to admit you need help, there are times you can’t just do it by yourself. I implore anyone struggling to give this a chance, you won’t regret it!

Amen Clinics in Bannockburn has been amazing. Dr. Easton is wonderful to work with and his staff is great ! He doesn’t sugarcoat anything making it easy for me to understand his treatment suggestions. The process of scheduling has been easy and Jocelyn always responds right away. I would like to thank Amen Clinics and the staff for helping me get my life back! Your professionalism and service has made this possible. I have been battling clinical depression and anxiety for 15 years or so. I have gone through psychological evaluations, various therapies, group therapy, ketamine treatments and more prescription drug combinations than I can count, all with limited success. During all this I was my own best advocate to find treatments that might help. Be your own best advocate because no one cares more about you getting better than you do. I was at the end of my rope and thought depression and anxiety would always be a part of my life when I discovered Amen Clinics’ SPECT Imaging brain scans. The idea of locating the areas of my brain that were not functioning properly and fixing those areas made sense to me. Although I did my research on SPECT Imaging, I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect during the scans. The Amen Clinics’ staff did a great job of explaining the procedures and calming down my anxiety. The professionalism at the clinic was amazing and they made me feel very comfortable. The follow up after the scans was where the real magic happened. I still can’t believe everything they can tell by looking at the scans. Dr. Creado’s interpretation of the scans showed that my multiple concussions (6 with total loss of consciousness) were a large contributing factor in my brain not functioning properly, thus the depression and anxiety. I felt like I was in the movie “The Truman Show” as Dr. Creado interpreted the brain scans and was able to very explicitly describe individual symptoms I was experiencing with my depression and anxiety. I ask him if he had been following me around for years with a camera documenting my thoughts and behaviors? He pinpointed areas of my brain that the scans showed were not working correctly, what the corresponding symptoms are and how to fix the improper brain function. We were then able to set up a treatment plan that included hyperbaric chamber therapy, brain game therapy, a strict daily routine and some vitamins and supplements to help heal my brain and reduce my depression and anxiety. Improvement was fairly quick and the healing of my brain has given me my life back. I’m still working the plan. The follow up phone appointments with Dr. Creado have really helped keep me on track with my treatment plan and the healing of my brain. We were also able to fine tune my prescription regimen to help with my symptoms of depression and anxiety. My patient outcome manager, Adam, has been awesome. He has helped keep me on track with my treatment and has been there to answer any questions I have had. This follow up has been very valuable to me. I just wanted to let Angel know how much I really appreciate her. She has made my working with Amen Clinics a truly positive experience. having anxiety I probably have more special requests than other people which she has always met. She also is always very timely which also helps me with my anxiety and if she doesn’t know the answer at least she lets me know that she is checking on it and get back to me as soon as she can which doesn’t leave me hanging which a lot of professionals do. She is also very pleasant,Nice, polite in any interaction I’ve had and never said no to any of my possible special requests . I manage people for over 20 years and hired a lot of people and based on my experience, she would be one of the top-notch professionals I ever hired or worked with. In December 2023, I was evaluated at the Amen Clinic for brain health/memory issues. With testing and the SPECT imaging, Dr. Creado confirmed PTSD and the ‘trauma’ related to the care and death of my sister (March 26, 2023) and the unexpected loss of my brother a month later. The goal was to regain short term memory and bring healing to the emotional distress related to these more recent deaths and our daughter in 2010. I was having trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. After six weeks, I am seeing marked improvement in falling asleep and staying sleep, thanks to Dr. Creado’s recommendations. He is super qualified to coach in this area. What he says works! (He wrote the book ‘Peak Sleep Performance for Athletes’). I have initiated a multi-pronged approach to regaining a ‘bright brain’ – eating for brain health, taking the brain supplements, walking intensely 5-7 days, sleeping 7 1/2 hrs and EMDR counseling. Already, I am noticing an improvement in my memory, focus, calmness and energy. Dr. Creado is an excellent psychiatrist. I give him the highest recommendation. He is stellar in his ability to clearly and wisely explain the results of the testing and show/explain the SPECT imaging. He listens carefully and is an excellent clinician.
