This park deserves 6 Stars. My wife and I went to MacArthur Beach Park a year ago when the park was open but most facilities were closed for Covid. We walked most of the trail and a couple of miles up the beach. There was a sign that beach wheelchairs are not currently available. My 88 year old mother has been saying that she wants to go to the beach and it’s been years. We have taken her to a couple of parks where she can sit and see the water but beaches were impossible with her walker. Upon entering the park on this trip with my wife and my mother, I asked the ranger at the entrance booth if beach wheelchairs were available. The ranger said there is a tram that could take all of us to the other side of the boardwalk where we could get the beach wheelchair. Once we parked the tram drove up and asked if we were in the blue SUV and we confirmed we were. The entrance Ranger called ahead to let them know we were going with my mother. The driver told us to wait as he turned the tram around. We got in with my mother’s walker stored on the back of the tram. He was extremely friendly and wanted my mother to enjoy the ride across the water on the boardwalk. On the other side a different ranger was waiting for us with the beach wheelchair. My mother got into the really cool looking 3 wheel reclining wheelchair with balloon type tires. Sitting low to the ground with her feet in front of her, I started to push her up the ramp to the other side where you can see the ocean. There is a spot where the solid wood fence is lowered so you can view the ocean sitting in this lowrider wheelchair. Then we continued down the ramp to the beach. Pushing across the sand was easy. The balloon tires didn’t sink into the sand. We got to the edge of the high tide where the beach angles down steeply and parked the wheelchair there. The three of us spent the next 90 minutes looking at the ocean. It was a perfect Florida day. Cool (for Florida) bright blue sky without a cloud and small perfectly shaped waves rolling in. The beach had some people on it but they were all a little south of us so we had this area to ourselves. You could not ask for a more beautiful experience. When we started our drive that day we were planning to go to a different park where we could sit on a park bench and see the ocean but not get near it. My wife suggested we go to MacArthur Beach. A 20 minute longer drive but thought we could walk out a little ways on the boardwalk seeing the bay. . In the end it turned into a magical day for my mother and us. We felt like VIPs. Everyone seemed excited to help us make it a great outing. The helpfulness and friendliness was well above anything we could have expected. I regret not getting the names of everyone who helped us to give them a well deserved call out. I hope they see this and understand how much they made this an amazing experience to get my mother onto the beach which had been her desire for years.

This review is for the beach park! We didn’t do any other trails this visit but loved the journey to the beach. They have a shuttle if you don’t want to walk or are tired on your way back. The boardwalk was scenic and relaxing, after you take a short flight of stairs and your at the beach. The beach was beautiful and not too crowded! Beautiful place. Definitely recommend visiting!

This is a place I've never heard about. Off the beaten path that most non Florida residents are not aware. This place is great for any beach activities you might have planned and if you just want to take a walk then they have a tail system that takes you on a different journey. I didn't personally walked any of the trails but it looked like fun. We did visit the gift shop and that was great. The best part was the beach. Not Crowded for a Saturday midday visit. However, you do have to walk about 1/4 mile from the parking lot to the beach but the state park does have a "shuttle" in the form of a long golf cart that will carry about 6 people. So be prepared, but in all honesty the walk is great you won't regret it

A South Florida hidden gem. This place is beautifully tucked away in West Palm area. Its is a $5 entrance fee per car. Once you enter, your driving through what feels like a forest. The parking is a distance from the beach itself. Because you have to walk across bridge over the intercoastal but once you get to the other side you will be wowed! The beach is pristine. White sand and blue waters. I did spot a few crabs on the sand which reminded me of the islands. And the plus about this spot is it is secluded. Just literally a handful of people was there. All in all if you are looking for a scenic spot just to relax and is not crowded with people. This is definitely it.

This place is absolutely beautiful!! I came here after doing some research for shelling and I wasn't disappointed! It was a workout. The water is so beautiful. Blue and clear. Just amazing. The nature center and gift shop is a nice add on. Be ready to walk. Have snacks and plenty of water. There are bathrooms by the beach which were clean. The shower was working as well. The boardwalk to the beach is a good walk so be prepared. There are also nature trails, so much to explore

Well, I thought it was a little strange that handed the girl my pass , she actually asked me for identification. I guess she's the only one doing her job. I've been to 81 out of 176 state parks. And never been asked for ID. It was a beautiful place.. They have a great handicap Boardwalk. It takes you through the mangroves. It's the coolest spot on the property. It's a canopy of trees and mangroves.. They also have a great gift shop carrying beautiful artisan pieces from local artists in the Florida area. There is a shuttle that takes you across the bridge over to the beach. You cross over the river down a very long Boardwalk. The shuttle driver was a really nice man and very knowledgeable about the property. They have great kayak launches throughout the mangroves to launch your own kayak or rent one. Also a small hiking trail throughout the mangroves. The beach is beautiful. So pristine and natural when you look back to the west, it's outlined with beautiful Dunes with mangroves and Palms. The sand is extremely hot.. Don't forget your shoes. There are lifeguards on duty, and in that particular portion of the ocean, it is extremely rough water. Please make sure that you have your children in life jackets. There was extreme undertow in that area of the beach. I hope you enjoy my recommendation, and when you're over on Singer Island in Riviera Beach, you definitely want to stop in to John MacArthur Park. DON'T FORGET TO STAY HYDRATED

What a place! You pay to enter the park, a small fee. Parking was easy to find. The walk to the beach was windy but absolutely breathtaking! You get to see a variety of landscapes here. The view at the beach is to die for. Stunning. Saw my first jelly fish and got it’s of souvenir shells from the beach. We were too late to check out the observation centre. They rent kayaks and bikes as well. If we had had the time we could’ve done a lot here but we just did a quick visit and we were very impressed.

We stopped over on our way to the keys, fully expecting this place to be a bit boring- it was not! This is a huge park with River access, bike and hiking trails, animals galore, tons of birds, and great views from the fire lookout , which is on the highest point in Southern Florida.

This has to be one of my favorite state parks. There is a boardwalk that goes from the parking lot to the ocean. It's a beautiful 1,600-foot walk over the estuarine system. If you don't want to walk it, there is a tram that will drive you over. Once you get to to the beach you are greeted by white sands and blue ocean water. Everyday we saw manatees swimming pretty close to the beach, there were tons of shells, the water was so blue and the waves were perfect. But there were lots of Man of War on the beach while we were here.

Gorgeous beach that you can walk for miles… its 10x more beautiful early in the morning. It’s about a 15-20 minute walk to the beach from the parking lot. Great for shelling, we found so many scotch bonnets!!! A pink jellyfish swam by me while snorkeling…. water was crystal clear!! August 2022

Beautiful park right on the ocean. I went there for kayaking and it’s a very great place for that. I was also told if you walk across the boardwalk over to the ocean it’s beautiful as well. I will save that trip for next time.

Beautiful park. Long walk to the beach but very scenic. Bathrooms, showers and changing area make it great for the family. Fairly wheelchair accessible. Beaches are nice and the is clear and beautiful. Can also fish here. Not too crowded. $5 per car. Unless it’s a van I think.

Essential spot to make while visiting Singer Island! Beautiful, vibrant national park with very awesome trails to get to the beach. Kayaking is fairly priced and well worth the money, since the estuary is huge and you could spend an entire day kayaking it. Originally came for the snorkeling, but only found one smaller natural reef close to the boardwalk, and wildlife was sparse despite being a beautiful, calm day at high tide. The nature on land more than made up for this - truly awesome. Came many times during the week I visited Palm Beach.

Great park. Fantastic staff & volunteers. I JUST reviewed this and even added pictures so I'm not sure why the Google has me doin' it again. Maybe the other reviews for the barrier island part of the park? Just go here. It's a great place. Lots of nature and a free tram ride across the boardwalk and back.

We loved it. The beach is beautiful, everything is well kept. The walk to the beach is long but they offer a trolley. I do wish there were better signs for some of the nature trails however. Considering buying an annual pass for kayak rentals

Beautiful beach with a really nice boardwalk to walk on. Only $5 for a car to enter and there's a small visitor centre with some information on the formation of the mangroves and animals. The bathrooms at the end of the Sand Dune trail were locked so maybe ask at the gate first if you're counting on them. Otherwise use the ones at the nature centre before heading to the beach.

Nice little beach! We also went for a walk in the state park area, beware of spiders! Those things are everywhere! The spider webs are massive and so are the creepy crawlers! The beach, you have to go across a pretty big bridge but they do have golf carts that can take you back and forth. As for the state park area, it is separate from this beach area but definitely be prepared to see these guys everywhere you walk or look

$5.00 to enter and it's totally worth it. We went back a second time to walk their trails. If we had more time in the area we would have rented kayaks

Great beach with cheap boogie board rentals. Had a great time. Do not try to sit in the chairs to the right with the umbrellas as that is reserved for hotel guests. Go to the left and there is public chairs for free.

Very pleasant area: lots of nice boardwalks, wild and untouched beach. The mangroves are absolutely gorgeous and that was the first time I saw a crab on a tree!

Visited again 10 years later in 2023, and still a beautiful, quiet beach! We gladly pay $5 for parking. They also offer picnic areas, parks, kayaking, a nature center, and a quiet, shaded walking/hiking trail. When the tide goes out, you can go out into the water far enough to have a blast, even if you can’t swim! There’s even an electric tram that will take you across the almost 1/3 mile walk from the parking lot to the beach!

Love this state park! We have been coming here for 23 years. We always spend one day here. We have rented kayaks, walked the park, swam, and sun bathed. It’s a great location to bring the family for the day. $5.00 per car for a day pass. So save the receipt and you can run to grab lunch if you like. They also have a golf cart to take people across the bridge if your tired or you need a ride out. Keep in mind if you don’t like spiders I would stay on the main boardwalks! We avoided them for my niece so she wouldn’t freak out. The staff here have always been friendly! We do like to bring our food and beverages with us. Don’t forget your sun screen! 😃

Calm and amazing, a good place to walk across the wood bridge, ride a bicycle, have a good time kayaking or simply on the beach. Just $5 to park your car. Really 👍 nice
