Hi Pip After speaking to you by phone today, 28 July, I cannot thank you enough for your kind words & encouragement, in relation to your knowledge of hamsters, as I shall be buying one at the end of August, or sending my cousin Peter in to purchase one, as you know. I wanted an ethical pet store, & felt drawn to Purple Pets, even before making the call this morning. As you know, I'm still in tears over Cookie (Monster), as it was only Wednesday 26 July, that I was forced to take him to the vets & have him put to sleep, due to diabetes, & him trying to urinate every 20 seconds, for 2 days running (18 months old). Kinder for him in the long run. Before we purchase another hammie, I thought you'd like to see a photo of my beloved Cookie and the cage that I've deep cleaned, for the new hammie to go into. Can't wait to meet you on a WhatsApp call, that my cousin will be making, so that I can see the hamsters, and choose one as a beloved pet. Warmly Genevieve Knights

Absolutely great place!!! Can’t get enough! Kids love to see all the great animals they have there ( me too ) and they always have what’s needed. Staff are so helpful and friendly. Can’t recommend this place enough

I love the Purple Pet Centre for so many different reasons. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and have, for me, gone the extra mile many times. I am a Tarantula enthusiast and I will go nowhere else to purchase anything I may need for their care. I have done a number of very reasonable Tarantula trades with Paul and him team, this morning acquiring this stunning Giant Brazilian WhiteKnee from them. Not only is there a great selection of live 'weird and wonderful' exotic pets/products, there is also a fab range of products for aquatic and smaller fury pets. I'm made to feel I get a personal service by the team and this keeps me going back time and time again. You must pop in and check this place out! Staff were so helpful and knew their products. Went in for some pet food and also came out with plants for the pond

This place is amazing. Any pet supplies you need, friendly and informed staff. The kids also love coming as a min day out.

I am shocked at how & why people are giving this place good reviews! The staff was appalling! There was 1 customer being served when we walked in - 2 staff members 0 eye contact & 0 interest in even greeting us!!!! An elderly lady who was busy stocking up - and the younger just standing with her. Mau have been a trainee or so. We had 2 children who would have loved to interact but I guess this store is not interested in friendliness & their customers!! We had planned to buy some fishes but the staff was so unwelcoming the interest in buying had gone! And we left the store again witbout a bye or any other communication!!!! I would have given 0 stars if it was possible....dont waste your time there...

I've bought a couple of complete set ups and reptiles for said set ups recently from purple pets and the staff and owners very knowledgeable, helpful and easy to talk to. I'm very happy with my experience and would highly recommend Purple pets.

Brilliant place, great animals, amazing staff. Fully interactive, greater us as soon as we walked in the door, had a quick chat. Chatted loads as we walked around, and we bought some reptiles. Will definitely be back again.

Shop was under refurb, nice staff, very expensive, but I guess in current climate everywhere is, lovely fish, stunning reptiles.

It was OK but at the time of my visit they were having some work done and was low on stock

We have just been to the centre to buy our daughter a hamster. We were served by Pip. She was absolutely amazing. Even though we came at almost closing time on a Friday she did not rush us. She was knowledgeable and kind. Thank you so much for your help today!!!

Once again we come here today to collect 2 more mice to add to our collection but ended up buying 4 more from this amazing and knowledgable shop. The staff are so friendly and helpful they even had reptiles out today for the kids to touch and interact with. Even managed to speak to owner Paul today. The Purple Pet Centre is honestly the best pet suppliers I have been to, hence why I have been a loyal customer for over 8 years now. The staff are very accommodating and knowledgeable of animal care. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the inverts and exotics (my area of interest). There is always a great variety of livestock, live food and pet care accessories in store. The manager Paul and his team can not do enough for you and I can not praise them enough. Definitely worth a visit if you have not been before. 5/5 star rating 👍

Extremely knowledgeable staff and friendly service! What I call a good traditional pet store, and not like any of these commercial pet centres where they have learned everything from the Internet rather than on hand experiences!! Keep up the great work purple pets!!!

They have a wide variety of reptile livestock, but overall it felt very dirty. Lots of rotten/old food in reptile enclosures, super mouldy dripping systems for the chameleons and even mould growing in some enclosures. There was a full tub of livefood left in one enclosure for one chameleon that had all turned into hard cased larvae, that takes some time! I'm sure with a good full clean throughout it would be a better environment but I couldn't wait to get out of there! I certainly didn't find myself wanting to take anything home with me to potentially contaminate my own collection!

Purple Pets have done it again. I have been a World of Fishes customer since I was a teenager. I contacted them last week for help and advice with choosing a pair of tortoises. They helped us choose and supplied us with a starter bundle of vivarium, substrate, lighting, heating etc On the day of collection they had time and endless patience for us and our questions. They insisted we contact them if we needed help putting the vivarium together or for any other aspect of Tortoise care. Superb!!! Maybe we could have sourced everything ourselves on the internet. Maybe we could have got it all for less, maybe not. What’s certain is that we wouldn’t have received the support and help that we did. Let alone enjoyed the experience as much or found it so fulfilling. Purple Pets are a superb local business. Pls support them!

Safe to say a great store. Very knowledgable staff. Sadly had to rehome my leopard gecko here today and the staff were extremely lovely and helpful!! There’s a certain person who works here who knows everything you need to know about reptiles and handled my very angry and hostile leo amazingly! complete reptile whisperer. There’s also a lady who works here who is so kind and lovely! All the staff here have been so great every time i’ve entered the store. They also stock amazing stuff for reptiles, birds, rodents, and much more!! Would recommend to first time animal owners as got my lizards here and was given so much information. Thankyou so much guys! x

We recently went away and used the boarding service for the first time with our Bosc/Savannah Monitor, they aren't a very common species in this general area of the country but I knew that she would have the best care and she would be kept safe and happy, the team are very passionate about good pet care and I knew she wod be in safe hands. We talked about how she had been and she is in great condition after her mini holiday. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff who are more than happy to help with any questions that you have to make sure that you keep your pets happy and healthy. They have a great variety of livestock and supplies for both exotic and furry/feathery animals.
