I like this place as it has a very nice restaurant so you can get a decent lunch or fresh cake before having a wander around the shop and the nursery. They have a nice range of gifts especially at Christmas. There is also a pet shop on site which specialises in aquatic plants and fish plus all the associated equipment. Well worth a visit. There is a large car park and although Sussex country gardener is very popular I never find it too difficult to find a space.

It's easy to spend several hours here. As well as an extensive plant nursery, they have a smaĺl animal section, aquatic section, a large selection of cards, candles, gifts, outdoor wear, children's section, garden furniture, grocery section and a large area with frozen food. An excellent cafe selling delicious homemade food is a must at the end of your shopping trip

Lovely lentil lasagne. Visited with a good friend who wanted to buy some Christmas presents. We both bought a soft bag with a chain strap each, what a find! The gift shop is fab.

Do not have breakfast here!!! My birthday treat today ended in wrong eggs, stale sausages you could not get a knife through 1/4 of a field mushroom dreadful bacon and toast did not arrive until reminded. When complained no apology from manageress just" that's how chef cooks it". Dreadful service - not like it used to be. We've spent £1000s over the last 25 years but will tell everyone about this vile food. Shoddy

Staff is polite, range of products is great, from plants to gardening furniture, equipment. Cafe is very big and cosy, did not expect such a big place in the garden centre. They have a session before the tills that has loads of extra products for home decoration and kids stuff. Some clothes, 👒 and a even frozen food and a few snacks, fresh produce and sweets but the tills.

Fantastic garden centre with huge range of plants, house plants and gardening goods. Also has gifts, local food and a really nice cafe that does snacks and meals.

Lovely place to visit. Nice food and shop looked lovely decorated for Christmas. I found gluten free cake and biscuits too. And there is also gluten free in the cafe.

The cafe here is always a great option for he beautiful views, plentiful seating options and lovely food. Discovered (too late) that the indoors is air conditioned, or at least it felt like it was.

Friday afternoon with a fresh fish van in the car park and an addition on the specials board - Fish and chips - The inference being..fresh fish and chips. WRONG. Very deceitful.. An awful preformed lump of greasy batter with some grey filling. Even the chips were poor. We left most and hope others choose more wisely .

An excellent garden centre with a very good cafe and setting. Prices seemed very reasonable all round. Looking forward to my next visit.

Great place to visit, the decor is very comfortable but the breakfast was served with precooked ingredients. Sausage was rubbery and was definitely just heated up.

Wide variety of plants (looked in very good order) also shrubs and trees. So very much to see, lots of pots, gifts, toys, cakes, jams, frozen meals and much more. We had our lunch in the cafe which was very spacious. The windows had a lovely view. We opted for omelettes they came with a side salad and chips. They were very tasty and filling.

There is so much to see at this garden centre. The displays ate colourful and well set out. I found that the Halloween Grotto was the best. From what I have seen in other garden centres (which, quite honestly has been extremely poor to nothing at all) this garden centre had surpassed itself. Well done.

More than your usual plant centre .. cafe serving homemade breakfast/lunch,cake and scones all good value for money. Beautiful gifts and huge card selection, the farm shop is well stocked , recommend the bread rolls!

A very nice garden centre with a good cafe although the staff are not very friendly serving the food. I like the garden furniture and the variety of plants and the garden shop which has a wide range of gifts. Will be visiting again.

Lovely restaurant and very well priced. Tables very well placed apart. Good nursery, although a little pricey. Well worth a visit.

Staff that work in the cafe are helpful. The food in cafe is terrible! Scones with no cream and jam and rock solid. Cakes are very very dry, food is mediocre. Wouldn't go again

Overall SCG looks like a good garden centre, with plenty of nice looking plants, tools and supplies, plus a well-stocked farm shop food section. My husband and I used the cafe today and had good coffee (both caff and decaf are bean-to-cup, with oat milk) plus a good-sized slice of delicious gluten & dairy free cake each (which is a rare to find combination). I overheard one person commenting on the sticky tables; there are notices posted apologising for this, as the strong sanitising liquid they use for cleaning has reacted with the varnish.

😐 Good food, good coffee, nice atmosphere. The only real negative for me was the automatic "optional" service charge which is not obvious and not mentioned specifically before you pay so really isn't optional at all. I know people have varied opinions on this and I don't mind restaurants doing it so m...
