How expensive is this place. Beware of ice creams as prices not marked up. Mini milks £2 each. Smartie ice cream £2.50 Large cappuccino £3.50!!! Staff look like they have not been fully trained and learning on the job. Definitely bring a picnic. Such a shame as previous cafe sold great variety of goods at great prices.

1st time over here and what a rip off !!! £3 for a regular latte that is as small as an espresso - typical council run place - profit over value - won’t be buying from here again !!!

Previous cafe was a million times better in terms of food, drinks, staff and price... The new cafe has an abysmal choice of everything from sandwiches to cold drinks. Four measly ham sandwiches and available at lunch time, what about vegetarians? All the sandwiches and sausage rolls look like the bland premade rubbish you get at a petrol station. We ended up forgoing lunch and just got ice creams which was a rip off, 3 lollies for £7.50!! Such a let down for such a beautiful setting. Wasted potential.

Nice location, it doesn't appear to have a kitchen so only hot food is toasted panini's etc. Small drink sizes. Preferred the old cafe, better value and choice by walking around the lake to Tesco's cafe. Won't bother visiting again.

Building is lovely but cafe offers a very poor selection of processed, pre-packaged white carbs and sugar. Basically what you’d get in a petrol station. Nothing fresh. £3 for a tiny coffee. Very disappointed.

Unfortunately, a disastrous visit and a proof councils cannot make a good decision. We used to come here with kids without packed lunches knowing we can have a great grub from the previous cafe… well, not anymore. New place is expensive, with zero customer service (I’ve heard no thank you from any of the 3 people I interacted with). After ordering 2 hot wraps we asked which one is which after roasting and the answer was ‘I don’t know’… food quality is of cheap supermarket ready-meals… huge disappointment.

Missed opportunity for fresh food despite having 5 staff behind the counter, none of which could manage a smile. Would love to see hot soup, decent bacon sandwiches, gluten free options and a smile. Also extremely expensive for what it offers.

The cafe offers prepackaged wraps and sandwiches similar to a Tesco meal deal, with bought-in cakes. The service can be slow, possibly due to the young staff, who may improve with experience. Seating is limited, but this may change as the new cafe becomes less busy. While the cafe provides basic picnic food, it may not be worth the expense compared to bringing your own.

It's such a shame that the van got removed, completely anti choice decision, more likely the new cafe was built to service the water sporters with a cafe secondary to give the perception of serving the general public. The cafe offers poor choice and low quality food at overpriced rates - it's almost like the council (or the TMActive logo they hide behind) want it to fail! I wonder who will take it over when it does. I wonder. The Google page says it closes at 5. It doesn't. It closes when whoever of the 5 people on one till thats in charge decides they want to close. They seem to start pulling the shutters down at 3.30. Try and get food between then and 4 and you'll be told "we are closing". The staff are nice enough, constantly changing and eternally in training. Coffee is awful. Food is just microwave tat and sausage rolls. Uptick on chocolate and fizzy is obscene. Lots of missed opportunity for local produce, good food and a beer or wine watching the sun go down over the lakes. As with all council projects, they understand the cost of everything and the value of nothing.

The menu is thoroughly ruined, cold drinks limited to bottled tat and seating limited. Such a shame the previous van and offerings have disappeared to something abysmal. This is now an overpriced cornershop with tables.

Like Leybourne Lakes, going there for a walk. Parking, I feel has increased a bit post-COVID. They've opened up a new "eco Cafe" which was totally disappointed with. The previous café was much much better, which the council priced out of the area had an excellent and wide range menu, e.g. bacon sandwich all cooked fresh for you. This new one everything was pre-packed, branded, with a high mark up.

£3.50 for a large cappuccino, pathetically small, so incredibly overpriced. Staff unhelpfully and not clearly not want to be there. Not recommend.

It's a cafe by a lake. If you like waterside walks and fancy a coffee and a snack this ticks your boxes

Wide range of drinks in a comfortable, clean, small café. Service very good.

Food is disgusting. Tables very dirty. Staff not bothered just talking to each other. Over priced and not worth the money.

Such a shame that this really expensive facility has no hot food available and is shockingly overpriced, first visit here since it was built and such a shame, 5 staff members and no food. . I find £10 for two really thin slices of dry cake and a coffee and a tea very overpriced. TMBC get a grip.

Filthy tables! Visited today with my child and wiped the table as it looked dirty. After I wiped, there was a visible line of dirt on the table. I definitely wouldn’t eat here.

Food was pretty awful. Basic sandwiches with loads of mayonnaise and little else in the way of filling. Coffee machine was broken. Staff made it clear they didn't want to be there. Vastly overpriced.

Lovely little café, perfect for a hot drink & snack after a walk around the lakes. Their coffee is very nice & staff seem very helpful. It is also dog friendly so we often sit outside & the dog has one of their oversized bone biscuits that you can buy from the counter, whilst we drink out flat whites.

Full of runners after ParkRun where I was visiting as near to my daughter. Service is efficient as large number of people coming in at much the same time and the queue kept moving. Coffee is very reasonable and brownie sticky and yummy.
