Had the greatest experience here. Visited Colchester with the family and decided to stop off here before our drive back to London. Best decision I ever made. The service here was so great and so friendly. Our two kids (aged 1yrs and 3yrs) had such a good time and demolished all their food. The food was so tasty and fresh. We even had some free grilled fish courtesy of the chef which was absolutely incredible! They kindly offered free ice creams to both the kids (which they duly took) and were even kind enough to warm up some milk for our youngest. Thank you everybody at Dr.Chippy's for making our visit so enjoyable and memorable.

Came to Colchester Zoo with my friend thought we could come here to eat. Read reviews looked good. Very nice and cosy seating area. Customer Service A1 here amazing hospitality! Food was good as well hit the spot Cod was fresh and crispy and so was the chips. Definitely will come here again if I come by Colchester!

One of the best fish and chips I have had in a long time.. The salmon and the other piece of fish was absolutely amazing wasn’t dry at all It was very succulent and tasted amazing. The owner is a kind hearted person who enjoys at chat with his customers and the other staff are very polite and happy. I highly recommend Dr Chippy 😊

Amazing place , fabulous fish and chips and a wide variety of fresh fish dishes in the restaurant, including mixed fish in one serving like scampi and cod with perfect chips. 10/10 service extremely happy 😊

They get everything right here. Delicious food and friendly feel. You get the impression they like people and they take real pride in their work. Forget the swanky places up the hill and enjoy well cooked food and considerate service.

Great tasting fish and chips cooked fresh in a non-greasy batter coating. Proper chips and friendly service. I recommend eating in to best enjoy your meal delivered to your table. Spotlessly clean toilets and tables. Well worth a visit.

Made us feel very welcome, salad and whitebait on the house, the basa, battered cod and salmon with chips was amazing. Had wonderful meal-strongly recommend. Best fish and chips in Essex.

Had cod & chips from Dr. Chippy yesterday, it was AMAZING, piping hot, fresh, clean, delicious chips, cod was white and delicious, crispy golden batter, my mouth is watering writing this. Never had a below perfect meal there yet. 5*

Under £13 for this large portion of (cod) fish & chips for real?! 😍 The crispy & flaky cod definitely steal the show. 😋 The owner was so nice that he gave me grilled cod for free. I even had a ‘sweet surprise’ — Turkish rice pudding near the end of my meal!

It takes my first time of eating fishes and chips, I'd been to Los Angeles and Toronto, but I never try it before It taste great, chips are peeled that I like it, but I'm not sure the fish was deep-fried but pan fried, may I came here too late which is 5pm. but I will come and try again, next time 2 to 4pm, may better.

The owner made us feel welcomed .he gave us some chicken for a taster before getting our fish and chips. He even went above and beyond .we ordered 2 large fish and a portion of chips .he gave us more than what we ordered just look at the box.we couldn't even finish all.we had to take away the other box. Great place for fish and chip.All staff were super nice.He gave me 3 types of fish to try and turned out very delicious(i like the middle one the most) and also extra fries and a bottle of water.I’m so full right now but still eating.thanks for my english name—Serena.

All the people who wrote at google couldn’t be wrong I thought. And so went there. And it was truly the best fish and chip we’ve ever had.The owner is a very funny guy, who explained all what you need to know about their dishes. And, what should I say? It was awesome.
