Dead Mall. Unfortunately. Thanks to the digital age of online shopping, post covid retail sluggish growth, and blessing of capitalism, this mall is on its last breath. Staggering inflation and cost of living crisis may prove to be a nail in the coffin. Back to the ground realities: More than 65% of shops are empty or closed. Food court has ONLY subway left, which may go underground soon! No pun intended.

Great shopping centre with multi-storey parking available. Make sure to park on the correct level for the parking code. This is monitored.

Found this place very quiet on a Tuesday afternoon. It was very clean and has one or two interesting shops. Unfortunately most are those found in any reasonable size town in the UK.

Can’t believe the local council have let this place go, there is hardly any decent shops left, it’s empty no atmosphere makes the town look empty - it all needs re decorating & money spent on it, needs also the rent to be lowered to bring back businesses there’s no decent car parking around the town & where you have to park is absolute con! Whole town needs re looking at to bring it back to where It once was !! When will this happen.

Too many empty units, and even the shops that have survived seem empty too. Ghostly during the week but I prefer this new uncrowded world. Like the picture of Victoria, though I wish my local forebears had been included in her mosaic.

We came up from Hastings today. Found ½ of the stores empty. The food court has all but one place (subway) and the outside food court we found through one of the exits was had every single restaurant closed down. Not worth the drive up here for this. And to top things off we got a parking fine! We paid via RingGo (so had no physical ticket) upon entering (£3,80\3hrs) and the fine was handed out in the middle of our time paid! Unbelievable

Sad to see how the centre is now ,just need M&S or Fenwick to go and be final straw, the aggressive council attack on motorist will not help the footfall as they will stop coming to town.I have travelled to town for year's to shop it was a vibrant and fun experience but now depressing place, no food hall, lots of empty units and a low quality experience now. Nothing for families in centre. I was in Crowborough and overheard motorist who was fined £70 saying never go to Tunbridge Wells anymore council never learns.

I feel like this place is on its last legs. The food court is non existent anymore and many vacant lots. Sad to see it in this state.

Beware of the check in parking system! Despite successfully checking out and obtaining a valid receipt for £4 on my two most recent visits (two months apart), I have in-fact been charged more than double the amount, each time, when checking my online statements. A poor shopping experience with barely a few decent shops.

Very convenient to park here and you can ether explore the town or shop in the many different retail shops, as well as enjoy a bite to eat or just relax with a cuppa ☕️ Unfortunately like many other places all around the country, if not the world most of the units are closed or empty 😶 But I definitely recommend visiting this place when Fenwick have their sale, it’s usually bargains to be found all around their department store.

Having popped in here semi regularly over the last 5 years it's sad to see such a massive complex decline so much, every visit there seems to be fewer and fewer shops. The little eating pavilion, which used to have a nice selection of independent food and drink shops now has a bar, smoothie shop and a cafe / record shop, the rest is now closed. The venue seriously lacks a reason to visit, with generic shops that can be found elsewhere in town.

Half empty of shops. The indie shops that are there disappear as soon as they appear, leaving the big ones that are also half empty due to the popularity of their shops on the industrial estate. The food court is empty bar a Subway, and that used to be a lively focal point. Used to be great, but there's absolutely no reason to go there any longer. I would post pictures, but you know what an empty mall looks like.

Unfortunately RVP gets fewer and fewer shops with each visit. The food court is just about empty now. Can't really see a future for it which is a shame.

Good shopping centre /mall with all the usual outlets and Fenwick's department store (and there aren't too many of those left these days!) With convenient large multi story parking alongside.

Reasonable collection of stories in a well kept shopping centre. Plenty of onsite parking with good size spaces. Remember you need to check your car in and then tap your payment card on the reader when leaving, otherwise they will charge you the day rate for parking.

One of the worst managed shopping centres I have been in. They don’t even open at the same time as their tenants despite having most of the centre vacant. They have even shut off car park level 5 one of the 2 levels that lets you access the shops that are left without using the lifts. ( has been like this for 18 months)

It's a beautiful mall. Nicely laid out and airy. But it's also at least half empty, even the revamped food area. It doesn't seem to have enough critical mass to draw many new shops in. I go once or twice a year and it's basically seeing what's left each time. A lot of this is just the general situation with retail but there isn't much in innovation to make it interesting or worthwhile.

A good shopping centre but could do with more shops that are affordable ie; a Primark. All the affordable shops like H&M, New Look and Select have long since closed down and there are only expensive clothing shops now.

The Royal Victoria Place is slowly dying. There are so many shops empty. Ely Court is devoid of any eateries. It has become a sad and depressing place to visit. Even at lunchtime on a Monday, the place is like a ghost town. Very few people. Sorry, but it's true.

  • 1/5 Keaton S. 7 months ago on Google
It’s a ghost town honestly I’ve grown up in Tunbridge wells been here all my life and never seen anything so disappointing in all my life like being back the shops and stuff because people who tourist there won’t be coming back if I was one I’d leave immediately

  • 3/5 Claudia C. 2 years ago on Google
Where have all the shops gone? The centre has been hit hard by lockdown. The whole of Tunbridge Wells isn't what it used to be.

  • 5/5 John G. 10 months ago on Google
Good parking, tickets obtained from machine or on app via RingGo. 10 minute walk from the train station or buses on the high street atea. Very clean and tidy good toilets nice selection of big name shops and independent ones, few food stalls and getting area.

Unfortunately a lot of empty shops. Still a good place to go if looking for variety

  • 5/5 Andy H. 1 year ago on Google
A clean modern shopping centre. The toilets are clean and there are tables and chairs where you can eat your own packed lunch. The proviso being that you clean up any mess. Free child's soft play area nearby.

Came here to look at a unit in Ely Court and Nicky was really lovely . I lived in Tunbridge Wells a long time ago and loved every minute . I worked in the Victoria Centre and it thrived back then . I was going to open a wonderful cafe which would be a community hub for people . There are some wonderful shops in here .

  • 2/5 Michael H. 1 year ago on Google
The local authority should be ashamed of the way generally they have allowed Tunbridge Wells Town centre slip into decline. Commercial Properties are no longer maintained with many boarded up. The introduction of more restrictions on vehicle movements will only make this problem worse. Far from making it a better experience for pedestrians it will just ensure that there are no pedestrians and more shops will close.

This shopping center has no life about it.Many shops closed no proper food court! I used to live in Tunbridge Wells and the shops were great not anymore. Shame as it is a town with lots of history.

  • 5/5 Richard L. 7 months ago on Google
British Land has done a very good job in upgrading the centre. Now they just need a few more shops to open.

  • 3/5 Simon 11 months ago on Google
Big ambitions but falls short on delivery. Being Tunbridge Wells I went along with high expectations for some great shops . Sorely underwhelming 1980s look with lots of tatty "clearance" outlets.

For me it was quite sad to see the mall go down hill as years ago it used to be such an amazing mall me and my brother went there for years and took my Nan there every other weekend but since covid and lockdown all started it went downhill and shops started to close and the food court only has a subway I woudnt go this mall anymore

  • 5/5 Sue M. 10 months ago on Google
My daughter and I loved it, we went for the first time on a Saturday everyone was very friendly, it was very clean but very quiet and the shops kept us busy for three hours which was plenty and enough coffee shops around to keep us fed.

  • 3/5 Sue G. 1 year ago on Google
Like a lot of shopping centres now, it looks sad and shabby due to the vast amount of closed units. It looks dated too. A few nice shops and if you are a local I'm sure it's adequate but I wouldn't visit from further afield to shop here!

  • 2/5 Georgia H. 11 months ago on Google
Has gone downhill massively over the last decade. A lot of empty buildings and spaces. Very much a sensory overload with lots of smells, loud noises, bright overbearing lights. I wouldn’t make a trip there unless I needed something as a lot of the local shops have been replaced with chains that can last there.

First time back since last summer, sad to see so many empty shops & only Subway left in the (what use to be) food court. All looked nice and clean and bright though. Hadn't used the car park so don't know of any changes there, if any.

  • 2/5 Mini M. 2 years ago on Google
Now I know that Covid has a lot to answer for, and as a personal casualty of one of giants closing, this indoor shopping Centre has suffered more than most, but it’s not just the fact that half the units are empty or used as display windows for what’s left of the remaining stores, I now find it the place to avoid, only using the stores like Fenwick or occasionally Next (as there really isn’t anywhere else to get decent clothing, love all saints though) I’m not sure why but walking through this over empty building is very depressing. They’ve tried to put in new flooring and these awful looking sofas and rugs to I suppose appeal to visitors but they look cheap and I don’t see the point. There’s No where to get a takeout coffee and utilise these seating area’s. Personally they should have saved the money and made parking free. This might at least in the first instance bring people in to the Centre, although I still wouldn’t stay. Drop the rents, free car parking and coffee lounges and you might have a new lease of life. Shame really.

Seems a shadow of it's former self. Used to come years ago all the time but it seemed quiet and there were lots of empty stores. Still good because of convenient parking and good lunch spots.

  • 4/5 Joanna A. 2 years ago on Google
Had a yummy Indian wrap lunch. Some other choices, but seems to have suffered from lockdown so not fully reached its potential with closed shops and shops selling limited options. But potential to grow. Independent food retailers, nice atmosphere & undercover from the rain.

Nice mall to visit in Tunbridge Wells. Has good collection of brand stores (Fenwick, M&S, Next, HMV, Oliver Bonas, Hobbs, Hotel Chocolat, Lush, Superdry, French Connection, L’Occitane, Pandora). The place is well maintained with good parking facilities. It's located by the town center and is easily accessible by bus and train commutes.

I had to go into the shopping centre 2 days running, really wasn’t looking forward to it, but every shop I went into from M&S, Lush, The Works just to name a few and all the staff were so lovely all smiling and polite, which was very much welcomed. The centre was very clean thanks to the conscientious cleaning staff. Thank you.

After hearing that the Central Market outlets will be going soon, leaving shoppers with only the single Subway restaurant down in the food court, this place in need of a serious pick me up. OK, I get that times are tough, and the future is as yet uncertain in terms of socialising, but that doesn't mean take away all options of stopping to have a quick cuppa and/or a quick bite to eat. It's only a matter of time until Subway succumbs to the same fate as the rest.

I like coming here and sneaking upstairs. It's much quieter and you get a lovely view of the high street for a bit of staring out the window and day dreaming. The staff are generally always friendly and often the girls behind the counter are laughing. The drinks are good and it has a relaxed feel and seems less frenetic than other coffee shops in town. I can't say the food ever tempts me and the cakes look a bit plastic so I honestly can't report on them If I wanted cake I'd go to Basil's but for friendliness, a lovely hot chocolate and some peace I'd come here and head upstairs.

The coffe from espresso little bit burned is letting you a bitter taste. The service is great the stuff friendly. I would recommend the place for the fresh cookies, very tasty

  • 4/5 Paul 1 year ago on Google
Had a great time here shopping with my two year-old. She loved the fact that you can get a car for the time you are here to sit and be pushed around in and in where the food court used to be there is a free soft play area which is better than some of the ones you have to pay for in the area. I will say there appears to be many empty shops and a whole section on the outside empty.

Lovely old/new shopping arcade. Full of great shops all doing so-so because of Covid. Hope to see you all regain your place in the market.... Big plus:. Great cafe upstairs in the corridor! Nice friendly staff! Look at:. Old lift! Brilliant!

It’s ok but seen better days.. hopefully much will recover here over time and once fully through pandemic woes and such likes… as I kid I visited here and as a mum, my daughter wanted to take a look so for a day out in half term, we did go take a look

I think this shopping centre is the best in the area. I would have given you 5 star if it was not of JB sports.. had an awful experience there. Staff very rude and aggressive. , When I tried to take them back. Said I could not have my money back. This is a total lie. You have every right to have your money back. If they offer you a credit note. Do not accept it.. get in touch with your bank and they will take the money back out of their account and into yours. Then just go back into shop and give them back. Don't let them bully you. I do not expect that level of aggression over two pairs of trainers. Never experienced that before, only in Egypt and turkey. Remember do not accept credit note and contact your bank immediately. They will give you, your money back.

Parking plentiful and not overpriced. Meter system requires reg number and pre approval of card. Same card must be used in machine before driving out. Shopping centre pleasant.

Great place ,was one of the first places I regularly went making me transition to tunbridge wells, Heather and her staff are GREAT,upbeat snd friendly, always feel you're more than just a customer Even though I'm a pret subscription holder ,I go in LEAST once week taking my custom there , As I say it was one of my first points of contact here .......and I will happily pop in

I don't really enjoy this type of closed in environment. Shopping Centres such as these are to consumerism what cathedrals are to the Church; great sites of worship.

  • 1/5 sadie h. 1 year ago on Google
Empty except for a handful of shops. It used to be full of shops and people. Just nothing there. No food court except subway. Its an embarrassment to Tunbridge Wells. Spent money on flooring and seating should have been getting shops to open or stay .

  • 3/5 Beth R. 1 year ago on Google
Better than it was, but still lots of empty units. Kids love it though, so will go again!! Love the cafe on the top floor too!

  • 2/5 Dani B. 1 year ago on Google
Hardly any shops since the council had big plans that fell through again and again. Better off going somewhere else like maidstone shopping.. council are successfully killing this town and its high street
