What a great experience. This hostel is right next to so many historically important places and very accessible for Ironbridge and Telford, particularly by bicycle. I hadn't been to a hostel for 25 years, but they've really updated things. You have the opportunity to book a private room or even an ensuite if you want, so you could bring a young family. But the community aspects are still there: you can self cater, there are shared lounges and people are willing to chat. I don't think I'll ever go to a Premier Inn or Travelodge again if there's a yha hostel nearby!

Lovely - absolutely no complaints. Went with my 13 year old and 11 year old. We regularly stay at YHA Sheringham / Whitby, stayed here as a child so was nice to bring these two. Friendly welcome, great size room (we ended up with a private 5 bed room for the 3 of us), clean facilities, good kitchen, lounge and family room. Kids would have liked WiFi or phone signal - but I was quite glad there was none! :-)

Very friendly team and relaxed atmosphere. Nice surrounding with museum, old & nice buildings, canal with ducks. Bought& enjoyed a very good capucino & juice in the morning in YHA. Shortest trail suggested is often without views of the stream, walking on the street or very narrow/dangerous pavements. We did a shortcut on the EU brigde (not the red iron bridge) and it was still too long and not a joy even we have kids (7&9y) who enjoy hiking normally. We would suggest to make even a smaller trail (round), starting north, using the narrow high footbridge over the stream after the canal & YHA.

Nice tourist attraction with the china museum, cafe is lovely & set underneath the YHA. Prices are very good and food is outstanding especially for a family. Recommended.

What 3 Words /// stopped.easygoing.commenced Coalport YHA is set next to the China clay museum. There is plenty of parking, but you need to make sure your car reg has been added on to exempt list by YHA staff. The building an old Victorian office/ factory which has lots of character and the conversation has been very well done. If you have stayed in YHA before things are very similar, set in a lovely area with friendly bouncy staff willing to advise you about local area. There are some walks nearby, one about 45 min walk to Ironbridge along a disused rail track. The hostel serves food and alcohol. There is a key fob entry system to get to the rooms as well as the shared kitchen, with fridges a washing machine and drying room. With the key fob system if you with someone you might need two keys as if one wants to go to room the other will not be able to go down the corridor unless you have a fob. The place is very clean. Overall a great place to stay. There are a number of pubs within walking distance as well as the main attractions of Ironbridge. Bliss Hill Museum is nearby by but the road is too narrow to walk up.

Pre-arrival: Phoned up to ask for 2 cots in our room. The staff member was very friendly and ensured that the cots would be put up and there will be space in the room. Parking and access: There are plenty spaces in the car park with 6 disability parking spaces. Accessibility: There is a platform stairlift that can carry 1 wheelchair user to the first floor, but not the second floor. Reception: Receptionists were friendly and were clear about the rules and safety information. Room: We booked a 4 person room and asked for 2 cots. The cots were standard travel cots (Hauck Dream and Play, for reference). The room got very warm as the weather was very hot. As expected at a YHA there is a bit of noise with people moving through corridors and fire doors slamming. But this is to be expected. Our room was clean and tidy on arrival with both cots set up. Kitchen and dining room: Clean kitchen and dining area with plenty of storage and fridge space. Labels and pens provided as usual. Lounge and games room: Comfortable lounge area with a TV. Games room had a pool table. There were some nice childrens' toys for our little ones to play with. Food: Excellent food. I had katsu curry, which I was very pleased with. Breakfast was good too. Overall, very pleased with our stay. The location is brilliant if you want to visit Ironbridge and surrounding areas. We'll definitely be returning next time we visit the area.

Great place to stay, although the heating was turned up to '11' in the lounge area and bedrooms on the 1st floor, which got a bit uncomfortable at times. Please turn it down a bit YHA, for the guests and the environment!

Only went for a coffee in the YHA coffee shop and had to pay for the car park. I expect it was because of the Ironbridge Gorge Museum clawing every bit of money out of us poor recession-hit customers, even out of season. Definitely will not visit again.

Overall a good standard of accommodation. Clean and comfortable but one area for improvement would be more storage space for back packs and luggage. Apart from one coat hanger rack there was no closet or chest of drawers in the room I stayed in. I would have given this hostel a higher rating. However, I am disappointed on this occasion. Neither is the members kitchen big enough for the number of people using it during busy periods. That said, good communication at the checkout.

Good for people that love nature.. there is no phone connection.. the wifi provided restricts any call/video call for whatsapp (but u can try vpn) There are a lot of room options.. the shared kitchen was good.. the common room/lounge was comfy.. the environment was refreshing..

Lovely location and staff, but experience spoiled by broken heating system during the entire, very cold weekend. Bedrooms fine, but kitchen and dining/living room very cold. I won't be returning another winter.

Great bolthole for exploring the various museums relating to the industrial revolution (get the fast pass and visit them all). Friendly service, clean rooms, great breakfast.

Very pleasant Café stop. Sat outside on Covid safe table. Nice food and coffee served by helpful and friendly staff. Much quieter cafe than those in the Ironbridge honeypot.

Friendly, so quiet - hardly any traffic and surrounded by the trees changing colour in the gorge. They are doing their best in these crazy times, just what we needed for a perfect half time break. Very happy to return again, looking forward to returning soon.

Staff very friendly on entering. Nice communal area with food and drinks on offer. Rooms and facilities were very clean. Lovely location and extremely cheap. Good alternative to a b+b or hotel. We were having a lads night away and visited several pubs near by then got taxi into iron bridge that cost £4. Getting back was slightly more. You need to pay £3 to park over night.

Beautiful YHA hostel. Wonderful buildings in a fantastic location. The staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities/rooms are well kept and very clean. Coalport is a lovely little village with several nice pubs, and you're only a short 2.5 mile walk to the famous Iron Bridge. Thoroughly recommended.

I stay on YHA's as work for the NHS and don't really want to claim for a pricy hotel. This particular YHA is really good. The building itself has some of the historical features in place, which is lovely. The facilities were clean and the room was ideal. Parking is free, which is great. Good size kitchen too. If you are a runner, bring your kit as there are loads of trails around here to explore. The staff were lovely and had a good chat with the two morning staff. There was a group of school kids here but they were no bother (apart from the fact they turn into elephants when they are in the room above mine). A lovely stay and worth coming back for.

Our GPS (2) of them, got confused - twice (getting there, and coming back from store. Dont use the postcode. There were loads of roads closed and detours - look for the China Museum in Coalport - this will do the trick. The room was comfy. The kitchen was smaller than I'm used to - but we managed. The walk into town is about 40mins, a delightful walk.

I did not stay in the YHA, I was collecting a school party. The YHA staff were very helpful and friendly. There is a cafe but not open when I was there. I found the area beautiful and the coverted old warehouse building facinating. The narrow, twisting roads are challenging (especially in a coach) but it is well worth a look around this area where the canal industry once was. China museum and Tar Tunnel here too. And a lot more that I did not have time for. ANPR pay parking.

Dreadful night sleep. Kids running riot. Bathroom in number 18 broken. Worst hostel I've ever been to. Sorry but it's true
