We stopped here today after arriving to do a walk with the kids and dog at the Anchor and realising it was closed due to flooding, decided to walk to the nearest pub instead. So glad we did! Such a lovely warm inviting place, they found us a table straight away despite it being busy and the food was exceptional. Jo who served us was a real gem too. We’ll be back!

My friend and I came across this lovely pub a couple of weeks ago with our shepherds after getting lost on a walk. Jodie and her team where absolutely lovely very welcoming. Great traditional pub with good ale and proper pies. Lovely food, great service, definitely recommend

With so many pubs in Sussex who stop serving food from the afternoon on Sunday we needed somewhere to eat as it was 15:30. We phoned ahead and was greeted by a friendly voice who said "yes we serve food all day, come on down!" So we did. My partner and I both had delicious plates of roast beef and Lamb work all the trimmings. You get a decent amount of food and it was cooked to perfection. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed a chat with our newborn baby girl outside in the garden under the veranda. We both finished with a white chocolate and raspberry blondie for dessert which was delightful. We both left with happy bellies and we will definitely be going back!

We had booked for a large group for a lateish lunch whilst on a camping trip locally. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating when we turned up early because of the torrential rain. We were made very welcome and all really enjoyed the hospitality and food. The generous portions were extremely tasty, particularly the apple and cherry crumble. Thanks for looking after us!

Great food and the real ales served at the right temperature. Well done. Nice friendly village pub. If passing well worth dropping in. Plenty of parking. Cheerful staff

An impromptu decision to have lunch out led us to the Laughing Fish. Haven't been here since before the pandemic and I knew it had changed hands. It's split into two halves, a restaurant half which is pleasantly lightly decorated and a bar room style without much change. Good choice of beers with guest local ales. Food menu seemed initially a bit on the high side but when the food arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes which were large and definitely worth the money. Also the food tasted great and my pie was stuffed full of meat. Proper pub grub. The staff were also very friendly and I'm looking forward to returning to this great little village pub. Highly recommended.

A rustic pub in the delightful Sussex village of Isfield with a variety of locally brewed beers including gluten free from Gun brewery. Plenty of seating inside with a sheltered area outside and a garden for eating in or out. Situated next to the Lavender Line another feature worth a visit.

Friendly helpful staff hadn't booked beforehand busy but fitted us in food was excellent. Would certainly recommend but maybe good idea to book to ensure a table.

Thoroughly enjoyed experience, with friendly staff and locals. Beer and cider good, and food appeared to be good portions, though didn't eat here.

We visited at the weekend after being here once before as a walk in ... the restaurant was fully booked but the two very lovely ladies running it found us a table before then relocating us to a better table. Fantastic staff , very, very lovely and friendly (lady with dark curly hair and the other lady with long white hair with mauve streaks), excellent service and very very tasty food. We enjoyed our lunch and time here very much and look forward to returning! Highly recommended... thank you for your overall amazing dining experience and second to none hospitality :)

Great pub that we'd been meaning to drop in for a meal for sometime, good selection of drinks and local beers. Had a roast lunch - great value but the roast potatoes/Yorkshire puddings were a let down, otherwise the meat and cabbage was tasty. Will pop by again.

Visited here on Sunday for dinner for 10 of us. Staff amazing very attentive and welcoming. Food by far the best roast I've had in a while. Everyone commented on how nice the food was. Will defiantly be back. Thank you

Amazing pub, we took the camper and were allowed to stay for free on the field behind the pub. Great pub landlady and staff and good food. We will be back for a second visit! There is also the old Lavender railway right next door to see.

A wonderful place for Sunday lunch. The food was excellent but the welcome from the staff was outstanding. We were so well looked after and made to feel at home. Will definitely be back.

Have visited 'the fish' regularly as a group. The service is always friendly and efficient. The menu changes regularly but the usual favourites are always on there. The portion sizes are generous, to put it mildly but everything is always served freshly cooked and piping hot. Several of our group opt for 2 starters rather than a large main course. Perfect for those with smaller appetites.

We visited for a very nice family meal for 4. This village pub (right next to the Lavender line station) offers a warm welcome, open fire and tasty home cooked food. Plenty of parking, outside seating and kids play area. Go and try, we'll be back.

Quite Wednesday lunch but still a lovely friendly atmosphere. Really super food, we went traditional, steak and kidney pie with loads of fresh vegetables and quiche with salad. All homemade and utterly delicious, like my mum used to make. The menu is diverse and interesting for non meat eaters too. We couldn't make it to have pudding but we may just have to go back just to have them.

After visiting family for the Isfield bonfire and fireworks we went along for a few drinks. The atmosphere was amazing and the locals extremely friendly. An amazing night of drinks, dancing and laughter followed. Fantastic pub with fantastic staff. A must visit if your are in the area.
