An oasis of refined calm in the centre of Rochester. Indoor and (sheltered) outdoor seating is available. On a warm day, I'd advise sitting outside under the cool shade of foliage. The restaurant also houses an art gallery where exhibitions and workshops are held. The premises are tastefully decorated. And the waiting staff are chherful and friendly.

Outstanding!! The food, the service, the drinks, the atmosphere - you name it all fantastic. The eggs royale were perfect and delicious. High quality ingredients used. My husband had the English breakfast and a stack of pancakes- both superb. The orange juice is fresh and you have the option of champagne for breakfast- always a must! Thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and this is now our new favourite spot in Rochester! Definitely recommend!!

Really great food and fantastic value for money too! 3 drinks, 3 mains and 2 desserts for £60. Service and atmosphere/decor were both lovely. There were vegan options for my friend, all the food was of an excellent quality and the portion sizes were generous. I had the chai latte, croque salmon, and the peanut butter stack. The sandwich was lovely, but the latte and dessert were phenomenal, absolutely recommend both, especially the peanut butter stack if you have a sweet tooth!

Would definitely recommend! The food was very tasty. Didn't have to wait too long and all the staff were very friendly. Only downside I would say is it's quite small. So as a large group we had to be sat on two tables but because of it being small we were still quite close and could talk to eachother.

We have visited Cafe Nucleus in Rochester twice now and only found out about it for less than a month! The first time we booked was a fluke, we were looking to have breakfast outdoors somewhere and thought this looks nice, lets try. We were in for a treat! And I can officially say that in and around medway this is definitely my favourite place to have breakfast/brunch. I have always said the way staff treat you really makes or breaks a venue for me because there is so much choice around. Every single staff we have come across in this cafe is genuinely attentive and very friendly (but we particularly loved Ivan's vibe!). Lets start with the outdoors experience first: The trees and plants give it a tropical garden vibe and it it a very zen location. The outdoor decor is very nice and I loved the additional touch of having blankets on the chairs to wrap up in because everyone knows what the british weather is like! There is attention to even small details like the latte glass which is insulated keeping the drink warm outside whilst not burning your fingers. We tried the full english and the canadian breakfast on this trip and they were both very scrumptious! On our next visit we opted to have a seat inside. The building is truly magnificent and the christmas tree next to the opulent fireplace definitely makes if feel elegant but cosy. This time we opted for the caviar with scrambled eggs breakfast and the beef with horseradish sandwich, both of which again was superb. I quite enjoyed the bloody mary too, very well spiced! And do not forget on your way out to have a look in the gallery which has some very interesting prints and original art pieces to admire and purchase. I think I am definitely getting one myself on my next trip. Now for the only downside, I definitely advise to book in advance as they do not have many tables (especially indoors). Also the booking times are in around 1hr time slots and so you sort of are always on edge about having to leave. FAO Mamagement: One of your staff Ivan really goes above and beyond! He really is a delight

Lovely cafe. This is an up market cafe more like a restaurant with outside space. Everything is clean and smart. There is also art to look at if you want. Unusually for such a smart place they allow dogs and even provide dog water. Staff are polite and helpful. I had fruit salad and I don't usually like raspberry or pears but they were very nice in this dish. I had a fruit salad and a coffee and it came to 11.50 I think it was. The decaf late was very nice and smooth too. I will definitely be going back again. Only downfall was the 'techno jazz' playing in the background (it may not have been that but that's the closest explanation of music) and Harry Potter being played in the toilet (I wouldn't have minded something by Charles Dickens or something in keeping like that). But all in all a lovely experience. I would sit outside in the summer though as inside was rather hot.

Really lovely place on Rochester high street with a Mediterranean themed courtyard to the side with outdoor seating. Inside features a unique and quirky interior design. Brunch menu is served all day and they have a large menu choice, they even do afternoon teas too. The prices may not be the cheapest but we've eaten here a couple of times now and the food is really good! We've tried the Full Canadian and Eggs California. The staff are really friendly and helpful. We will be going back again ☺️

Impromptu breakfast but we were still accommodated by very friendly yet professional staff. The food was good, I had the full Canadian breakfast and it was lovely, however the chocolate cake was amazing, firm yet moist!

I visited with family for afternoon tea. The experience is set in a very upscale room within the cafe itself. Very large selections of teas and alcohols so there is something for everyone’s palate. All of the food was fresh and of a good quality. The freshly baked scones are definitely the best part!

Popped in on Friday for lunch with a friend. Though we hadn't booked, we were able to get a table. As always, the staff were amazing, and the Ploughman's was delicious 😋 😍

Always enjoy Cafe Nucleus. Good quality food, good, friendly service and really beautiful interior. It’s the place to go if you want somewhere a little special but still relaxed. Looking forward to seeing the brand continue to expand!

I was looking forward to afternoon tea the atmosphere was lovely as was the surroundings. What I was disappointed with was the fact that when I booked I mentioned a seafood allergy twice and when we arrived I was assured they had taken this into account. The food when it came was on a 2 tier stand with salmon sandwiches tucked in on the same plate with everything else and no provision made to substitute the salmon that I could not eat for an alternative. I got to eat 3 little sandwiches. We then asked for one of our party to have coffee instead of tea which was accommodated we requested lactose free milk only to find out on the second cup that the first was not lactose free which caused my friend no end of stomach problems later. I also thought for £30 a head they could of done better as I consider this quite expensive for what we received.

Absolutely love this place, originally went in March as we were treated by our son as was his fiancées parents as it was the 1st time we had met each other. This place has a lovely ambience, which makes you feel relaxed. We sat on the yellow chesterfield both times, we were a group of 6. Went again yesterday to celebrate our sons engagement and I had emailed ahead to say we’d really like to sit in the same place again. This request was accommodated, which was very much appreciated by my husband who is disabled( near front door) Again lovely food, the presentation is beautiful and food very tasty. Absolutely great service too, love the gentle nature of the staff, they are very attentive and check that all is ok at various points. It’s really lovely they support local wholesalers and I think this has a lot to do with the stunning taste of the food. Thanks again for a really lovely visit

Walked the High Street looking for something special with outdoor dining in the sun. We met two ladies coming out and asked them for their opinion. It was very positive and now so is ours. We shared a Charcuterie at a table in the closed off alleyway which was beautifully decorated with flowers and vines. The service was excellent and they were very attentive. Definitely a good choice.

Top notch cafe to enjoy a coffee/tea with a nice slice of cake ! Staff is very helpfull and friendly. The choice selection for cakes is super, and these are really of extra-ordanairy quality. Sitting outside enjoying the sunny weather on their tiny terrace is a pleasure you shouldn't miss.

The atmosphere was very pleasant, the choice to dine inside or outside - we chose outside under the vines in the cool breeze. Service was superb - Ali served us and her manner was a courteous, friendly, professional rapport. We were not rushed, and we did not have to wait long before our delicious English Breakfasts were on our tables. At appropriate intervals, Ali checked in with us making sure all was ok. Highly recommend this restaurant! Thank you!

We went for the cream tea in the afternoon! It was incredible, some of the best tea we have ever had. The scones with cream and jam was amazing. I can’t recommend this place enough! One scone each with the tea was the perfect size for us. The decor was beautiful and we loved the whole experience.

(A well deserved) 5 STARS! My family and I went for afternoon tea yesterday, this is probably one of the best afternoon teas I have had! My grandmother has had afternoon tea at the Ritz and she has said that this afternoon tea was on par! After reading the afternoon tea menu we was surprised that we had recieved an amuse boche of honey comb gelato which was creamy and tasty (this definitely got our tastebuds going)! We then recieved sandwhiches, cakes, macaroons and truffles which were absolutely scrumptious! We was then asked if we would like to recieve any more sandwiches (which we had to politely decline as there was so much food). After that we was then surprised with some delectable pastries (another bonus). After we had finished our delicious display of food we then recieved a box of freshly baked scones (which were still warm), they were just delectable. The staff were very professional, friendly, attentive and very accommodating, my grandad is unable to walk up the stairs and we was able to sit downstairs comfortably. The service at cafe nucleus is absolutely wonderful, which brings a touch of well needed elegance to Rochester. Thankyou for a wonderful afternoon tea and we hope to see you again in the future.

Food is always excellent, and beautifully presented. Choice of spaces, downstairs excellent for shorter visits, outside under cover lovely for informal drinks and food when weather is nice, but my favourite for dinner is upstairs. Elegant and a real joy. You'll need to book ahead.

We visited this inside & out beautiful gem in Rochester on Boxing day. We absolutely loved everything about it! Staff there very friendly, polite & making sure all your needs are covered. There is a great variety of very tasty (for even a very spoilt one!) freshly cooked hot & cold food & selection of drinks with reasonable preparation time. Not very big place but with a homely atmosphere Dogs are welcome there too ( which I am sure is a very big plus for many people with furry friends). This is a place where you want to go back to again and again for sure! Definitely recommend!

I tried to visit twice, there were no tables the first time, it was very busy. However they managed to get me a table the next time. The place is lovely, has many cosy spaces. The food is fresh and delicious. The place is also dog friendly. Staff were polite. I'd recommend you book a table if you wanna visit, especially on a weekend. The chocolate, and book mark with the bill was a nice touch.

Nice dog friendly cafe, the food was ok but not great, the salmon on the eggs royal was not the best, again the scrambled eggs were ok but not the best we have had, a small orange juice is £5, The service was fantastic very friendly, 4 stars because they are dog friendly.
