Spent a night here as a birthday celebration. So impressed with the place..the staff were super friendly and went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. Not a miserable face in sight, bar staff, servers & room attendants all greeted us with a smile. Our evening meal was delicious as was breakfast in the morning with unlimited coffee. Fantastic, spotless room with comfy bed, perfect. Thanks guys we had a really great stay.

Fairly average on all accounts. My Mrs and oldest child wasn't keen on their burgers, My youngest loved the children's nuggets and chips. Service was OK. My ribs were slightly dry but enjoyed the rest of it.

Brilliant themed hotel/bar/restaurant! From the moment you get out of your car and country&western music greets you to the Indian themed rooms this place is great fun. Food on offer was varied and excellent, all serviced by enthusiastic, friendly staff. Very reasonably price rooms which included a full breakfast of your choice. If you love the old west (or not!) and fancy a fun weekend give this place a try! Whip cracking fun to be had

We had an amazing time this evening. We ordered 2 Mac n cheese's with chicken and sat outside listening to the Western music they had playing. All the staff were absolutely wonderful, very courteous and always managed to smile as we passed them while exploring this absolute treasure of a restaurant. It was like walking into a fancy western saloon, really authentic. Loved every second being here and will definitely return. If I could give you 10 stars, I would. You people are absolutely fantastic and your restaurant is just beyond amazing. Never seen anything quite like it, I am very impressed. Blown away even. Thank you for giving us a night to remember, with amazing food and the best ambience. We will be telling others about you and hope to return in the near future.

Fantastic family restaurant is great for birthday 🥳 parties. Great food. Great staff. They care about their diners asking on several occasions if everything was okay. And not just by one member of staff more than one member asked. Also, members of staff asked if we needed any more drinks on several occasions too. I would say we were looked after excellently. And Smith & Western should be very proud of their staff.

Great value of money! Food comes in a huge portion and they taste nice. I love the decorations! They give me the western vibe. We ordered a Caesar salad, a 'feast' and nachos. They also gave us some sweets after we payed the bill.

I’ve just tried to come and eat on this completely empty restaurant the table they seated us at was a two person table with 3 seats with no space to move my arms and a wall to look at. When I requested a larger table they told me the completely empty restaurant was fully booked. When I returned to my car I looked on the website and could book a table for 4 at any point in the evening yet they told me they were fully booked. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. But never mind Pizza Express is better!

Fun place didn’t eat dinner only breakfast the morning after staying over. One of most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in away from home the linen was crisp white cotton. My husband’s breakfast wasn’t great he had the full English and it was cold and like mine the poached eggs were hard but the rest of mine was good I had the avocado on toast Have booked again for a stop over on the way down to old town Hastings in October Ans looking forward to walking round the pantiles etc

The food was incredible, the service and staff were amazing and very friendly. They were always asking how was the food and if anything was wrong. I had a problem with one of my food options and they took it completely off my bill and offered me something different. The complementary drinks on arrival were great and the taste was lovely. Would definitely go back and recommend to someone else. Thank you very much! P.s the new manager of the restaurant had a warm and welcome personality and it made the night even better

I've wanted to try Smith and Western for a long time, I've recently moved somewhere where it's more convenient to visit and finally did. Bit disappointed, to be honest. It was pretty expensive, but the food quality seemed pretty good, so it was somewhat excused. I had the nachos, "you haven't been to Smith a western is you haven't had the nachos" the menu said, I am a huge fan of nachos but continue to be disappointed when ordering at a restaurant. There were too many nachos without covering of your option of topping ( I had chilli beef) found it a bit odd they layer it with nachos chips, then beef and then dry nachos on the top with a sad amount of cheese. The pots the salsa, etc, came in, wasn't a practical size/shape to dip the dry nachos. We ordered a beer that didn't come, but then got charged at the end, so I'd be a bit cautious when looking at the receipt... though when we pointed it out, the waitress immediately apologised, didn't question it, and got a new receipt right away. It is a loud restaurant, we heard 5 birthday songs sung by the staff, which didn't bother us, it's to be expected at a themed restaurant such as this one. The portions are pretty good. the staff were super friendly and welcoming. I will definitely go back and try other items on menu, but would probably want to try somewhere a bit nicer for the price we paid... two drinks each and 1 main each for myself and partner, came to just under £90... total for 4 £185 (other couple had 1 drink each and a main each)

Food was delicious and service was brilliant. Staff were also lovely. Only downside is that my food came out a little cold, however I would chalk this up to the fact we had a lot of people with a lot of dietary requirements and allergies. Definitely worth going

We all ate dinner there. They managed to fit us all in, 9 of us, with no booking which was great. The service was very good, and food was really nice. Served very quickly. The toilets were clean as well which is always good. Would definitely go again.

The food is good, but not great; the service is good, and the staff are friendly, but nothing exceptional; the price is quite high for what you get; and the aesthetic seems to have a lot of effort put into it, but isn't really my cup of tea, it is clearly more aimed at families with children. The cocktails are pretty good, and not too pricey, but are also quite weak. The beers are quite nice though. I would gladly return here, but there are places I would prefer to go.

Had a one night stay. Lovely room and comfy bed. Couldn't get the shower to work and another guest had to tell me how to reset it as staff available didn't know how. Could hear pub noise below but quiet by 2230 but this was a Thursday. Food tasty, as we're the cocktails. Staff friendly and polite.

Chose this place as let down elsewhere. They accommodated 10 people. Staff really friendly and helpful. Food and drinks very good and service rom Dan, couldn't fault. If any downside, music was too noisy for me but I was not well on the day so less tolerant. Toilets clean which goes a long way to the whole premises cleanliness.

Really impressed with the food tonight. Mac and cheese was mouthwatering! the steak was 10/10. Customer service was 5* and the rest of the food was beautiful. They really catered for my 11 month old and the kids menu is amazing! Good quality for the money and you get bottomless drinks and dessert included with the main for the kids menu!! Really happy! Thank you for making the visit such a positive one!

Easy to park and a lovely themed restaurant. The prices are kinda high but the surroundings, service and quality of food was excellent. My 9 year old son loved every second of being there... especially the saddle seats. This was our first visit but we are looking forward to returning soon.

Such a well appointed hotel. We stayed in Cree which is above the restaurant, so quite noisy up until 11pm with the music. The room is decorated to a high standard, with a super comfy bed. Nice bonus of a discount off your meal when staying in the hotel. The breakfast is most excellent. The staff were professional, friendly and most welcoming.

It live it here.. as I live near by, its an extention to my home almost. The Frozen Margaritas made by Leo are the best, the service is 100%. Food is great and always delicious. I'm on annual leave this week, can't wait fir my frozen Margaritas at Happy hour. Get ready Leo :-D

Despite having to wait nearly an hour and half for our food, when it arrived it was superb. Early Saturday evening and did not seem overly busy so clearly a problem in the kitchen, Waiting staff and manager were very apologetic to the cause, offered drinks on the house and I feel that was sufficient... Will try it another time for sure as 2nd chance is deserved..

I was not impressed at all I came in last summer with several friends and family . And was seated in a dark corner. The service was appalling. I felt really sorry for the one server who was all on his own rushing around all over the place trying to deal with other customers. The food came out really late and was stone cold they also got our order wrong. Awful place would not recommend. Stay away

Booked a room after finding this online, great price bed and breakfast. Turned up, staff were very helpful, 4hour drive to get here I was pleased to see a fantastic shower. Room was lovely very comfortable and clean. Food in the restaurant was nothing short of epic, great ribs and chips meal for dinner and after breakfast I don't need anything else for the day. Thank you for a great stay.

A great quirky place to stay, like entering into a real western, with full size carved Indians, saddles to sit on round the bar and wagons to sit in to eat. The bedrooms were very interesting with all the western theme decorations, my only complaint is I am 6’1 and the bed was a little short, so I had to sleep at an angle, but I did have a good sleep. The low star rating I have given is for the water in our room was never replaced each night, as they had forgotten when I asked. The morning breakfast, I had to search for someone to take our order after waiting a considerable time. The food took a very long time to arrive from the kitchen, and my wife had ate hers sometime before mine arrived. I was told they had a new chef and apologised. The staff were all friendly but hard to find and as people left their table, none of the plates were taken away. Eventually we were surrounded by lots of tables which just looked a mess. It’s a shame because the whole concept looked exciting but a big lack in staff experience was noted by everyone at breakfast that morning

Food is absolutely lovely. Staff do their best for you and genuinely look happy to hear your requests. Atmosphere is amazing if you love America particularly the Nashville side of it. Country music and cowboy themed. Now for the reason for three stars not 5... It took 1hr 40 mins from ordering the mains to receiving them, We asked three times, plus one meal took another 5 minutes to get to us, so we had already eaten half of ours before that one turned up. We were in there for 3hrs 18 mins , yes I time these things. The tables either side of us (same number of clients) had mains, pudding and left before we even had our mains. If everyone else was in the same boat my review would have been different, commenting on the busyness of the restaurant etc but that, in our eyes, wasn't the case. The waiting staff can thank the chefs or whoever for not getting a tip.. being 9 of us and the average bill each being £35 that's a fair chunk they didn't get. So to sum up. Great staff, great food, poor time management/communication of food and length of service!

Visited Easter Saturday, busy but not crowded. Nice western themed setting and music playing in the background. Food was well presented and tasted lovely. Service was good. Visited a few times and never disappointed.

Waited over 1 hour for our mains after our starters were collected. Restaurant wasn't busy didn't look like any food was coming out the kitchen. Waitress wasn't very nice no apology until we were paying. Stated reason we were waiting so long was because we had a starter which should take over an hour just wasn't on. Shame as we like coming here but feel like not returning.

Busy on a Friday evening. Not really my thing, but we went there for an extended family meal. Courteous and helpful staff. Interesting menu and nice atmosphere.

Love this restaurant, the food is always fantastic and the staff are lovely. We wish there were more of them around as it’s about an hours drive from us so we only go for special occasions. Lately there have been some issues with speed and delays in the kitchen which can be frustrating so that’s why I can’t give 5 stars but as I said when the food does arrive it’s always lovely and the staff are helpful and friendly :)

Had a lovely evening meal here with the wife, food was very good and left feeling very full! Staff were all very friendly and also had recommendations which was nice! Would definitely come again.
