Nestled in the heart of North London, the Hill Garden and Pergola is a hidden gem that offers a delightful escape from the urban jungle. This enchanting spot feels like a well-kept secret of the city, where nature's beauty meets a touch of whimsy. As you ascend the stone steps, you'll find yourself transported to a different world, one where lush greenery and exquisite architecture coexist in perfect harmony. The Pergola itself is a masterpiece of Edwardian design, a grand structure that seems to have sprung from the pages of a fairytale. The gardens, lovingly maintained, are a symphony of colours and fragrances. Stroll through, and you'll encounter vibrant blooms, from elegant roses to vibrant wisteria, creating a mesmerizing kaleidoscope. It really is a visuall treat. But what truly sets the Hill Garden and Pergola apart is its sense of serenity. It's a place to escape the bustle of London life, where you can sit on a bench, close your eyes, and pretend you're in the middle of a Jane Austen novel. It's not just a garden; it's a portal to a more peaceful era. So, whether you're a nature enthusiast, a history buff, or just in need of a magical escape, the Hill Garden and Pergola in North London is your ticket to an enchanting adventure. Don't miss it – because every city needs a secret garden, and this one is London's best-kept secret.

A spot that I’ve been meaning to go to for a while after coming here once, but were nearly closing. Was interesting to have read up the history of this place. Really loved the pergola part. It felt quite enchanting to have walked through it. It was lovely to have immersed myself into the loads of greenery that were there with some flowers blooming. It’s a shame that it was cloudy. Peaceful garden and it wasn’t too busy when I went in the afternoon

Nice , quiet place to spend some quality time. Definitely best to visit in Spring / Summer time too as you get the best scenery with all the greenery and colourful flowers blooming! There are plenty of shades and wooden benches around so it’s nice to take time strolling through the park and sitting a bit to take in the scenery. One of the best place to do photoshoot for your special day.

Managed to visit this stunning garden after meaning to go for the longest time. No wonder people say this is like a secret garden and they’re not wrong, not too far of a walk from the Hampstead tube station but it does take a bit of map reading skills to find the right way in. Definitely best to visit in Spring / Summer time too as you get the best scenery with all the greenery and colourful flowers blooming! There are plenty of shades and wooden benches around so it’s nice to take time strolling through the park and sitting a bit to take in the scenery. Not a lot of people were there when we visited but saw quite a few taking wedding photos there and even more having picnics on the grass. Highly recommended to escape the buzz of the city for a nice afternoon day out!

A hidden gem. Hauntingly beautiful. I've only been a couple of times and every time I saw some photoshoots taking place. However the atmosphere is quiet, and the greenery paired with the grey and bricks is a feast for the eyes.

A stunningly beautiful hidden gem tucked away within the leafy Hampstead suburbs. Picturesque describes it down to a tee as many people come here with professional photographers to create lasting memories with their photos and especially on a sunny day the Pergola is absolutely gorgeous. There's much to admire about this place but above all it's the historic beauty that permeates throughout that makes Hill Garden such a memorable gem.

Everyone kept recommending the beauty of the place in spring/summer/autumn when flowers are in bloom or you get to see the beauty of the orange leaves! 🍂🍁 But I went in the winter of January and still enjoyed the garden! This is a charming garden that's slowly falling apart now. But the beauty of the garden somewhat remains in that in between space - it reminds you of the charm of it's grand old days as well as the decay and cruelty of time. It's like visiting something abandoned and taken care of at the same time, such a liminal zone! P.S if you're into photography, bring people to photograph. While I was there, I witnessed at least 2 photoshoots.

It's like Hampstead Heath's secret garden. The four seasons are so beautiful and worth visiting often. It's a little tricky to go to, but that's why it feels more mysterious. Make sure to look around the well-organized gardens. It is also a good place to buy sandwiches or snacks and have a picnic. (There's no cafe nearby, so you have to buy it)

An hidden beauty in the middle of Hampstead. Wow. Such a beautiful place. And then So relaxing, the sound of silence walking in the middle of the "forest". It was an experience. We walked for 2 hours, it was lovely.

Discovered this garden today whilst walking around Golders Hill Park. Little did I know about the existence of this garden, and it felt like a hidden gem was unlocked! The terracing looked fantastic, and overall it was wonderful to see the amount of flowers, plants and trees throughout the visit to The Hill Garden and Pergola. I'd definitely come here again to take more photos, as this is the perfect place for Nature Photography.

What an amazing place. It’s lovely in Autumn, it must be amazing in Spring. Will definitely be back. It’s free to enter, lovely to walk around. Relax, read. Have a picnic. No toilets though. We will be back, top place!! Separately —— The only problem - parking. We parked in Jack Straw car park, £5 for 2 hours, nightmare app to download, it didn’t work properly. But it was worth it. If you know about different parking, please let me know.

It's a beautiful garden, it's a must see hidden spot of Hampstead. Although there were many people out there. It would be nice if this place would have toilet access, this is a suggestion.

The Hill Garden and Pergola is a magical retreat where nature's beauty truly shines. The gardens are meticulously crafted, and the pergola adds a touch of enchantment. While it's beautiful year-round, the summer vibe is something else—vibrant colors and utter tranquility. It's the perfect spot for a summer stroll.

Wonderful corner of Hampstead Heath, with beautiful garden and a beautiful walk along the pergola. It is not packed with people, and there are plenty of shaded places even on a very hot day.
