A beautiful restored steam railway with a few diesel trains thrown in! It's a great day out for kids and families but it's great fun for all! From the town of Holt the train travels ro Sherringham where it stops right in the town centre! Time to explore the centre and grab some lunch before return! We have visited twice now and just love it! The all day tickets the best value!

This is a well run historic railway that takes a picturesque route along the coast. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the mix of diesel and steam makes for interesting comparisons. We were lucky enough to ride behind the class 37 diesel, which sounded magnificent. Top class attraction.

Fantastic step back in time. We got the day rover ticket and hopped on and off along the line. Lunched at the picnic tables at Weybourne, took in the atmosphere of the restored station rooms. All the volunteers who run it are friendly and helpful. Very enjoyable day.

Joined the first service of the day from Holt, the station is a little out of Holt, about a 30 minute walk. Staff/ volunteers are great friendly and knowledgeable keen to share their passion. We had a steam train, see photo, and old style BR slam door coaches, oh the joy of the smell of steam, whilst passing through some of the best scenery that Norfolk has to offer.

Often quieter than the Sheringham end if the Poppy Line. Museum is packed with vintage railway exhibits. My ex-railways father could have stayed there for hours! Helpful platform and ticket office staff. Parking next to the station is a £3 donation. Steam engines will swap ends of train as part of turn around at Holt. Always magical. Highly recommended Update: 40s steam weekend had lots to see and do. Well worth the modest entrance fee.

My friends and I took a trip from Holt to Sheringham I felt like i was living in a different age. The steam train was incredible and the staff were so friendly and all volunteers dedicated to keep this train running. I would definitely recommend a trip it's great for anyone between 0 to 100 plus

Lovely station. Get there early if you want to get on the first steam train of the day. We arrived 10 minutes before and had to wait for the next one (a boring diesel one!) However, the wait meant we got to look at the museum and both model railways plus have a coffee from the shop, which was delicious. Friendly staff. Brilliant model railway. Beautiful journey to Sheringham (be sure to sit on the side of the carriage closest to the platform for the best views!)

Holt Station is very picturesque with some lovely things to see. I got off here & walked up to Holt Town for a few hours which was great. The Owl Trail is worth doing & visiting the yards is great!

Great experience for the whole family. There is a Steam train and a Diesel train running at different times of the day. We used both. The Steam train was clearly the most popular. The whole experience is run by a host of genuine enthusiasts who absolutely love their jobs. Very knowledgeable and a great source of historical information. The Steam engineering speaks for itself. There are things to do at Holt.... Museum, café etc and the journey ends at sheringham town, 1 minute walk to the shops. Great day out, loved it.

We went on the train for the 1940s weekend. The trains were immaculate, and the atmosphere was superb. The volunteers are really positive. We had some delicious sandwiches in the cafe. The special event was very well organised and run.

This is a very nice and scenic heritage line, which I love. The ride to Sheringham and back was very calming and a great experience. It is all very professional, and it's really great to see that all of the volunteers are having a good time. It's a very nice railway to visit and I would highly recommend it if you are a train enthusiast or just want to visit. Also, the museum at Holt Station is very well kept, and I would definitely advise going in to have a look

It was a lovely nostalgic trip on both a steam train and a return journey on a heritage diesel. Really strange on the early 60s diesel being able to see the driver in his cab but also right through and along the track as we went

A truly amazing experience was had by my wife and I. The station at Holt was wonderful to see and the staff ( who I believe are all voluntary) were friendly, knowledgeable and a pleasure to meet. On boarding the steam train it became a lovely reminder of days gone by and the scenery during the ride was gorgeous. If you want to ride on a steam train then this is certainly one to visit.

Amazing faithful recreation of a Midland & Great Northern (M&GN) country station Holt, the most westerly station on the North Norfolk Railway is approx. 1 mile from Holt town centre. The station includes the William Marriott Museum, located in a recreated goods shed and tells the story of the M&GN, a model railway display and a small buffet/gift shop and. Preserved goods vehicles are also on display in the loading bay near the museum.

Great place to visit. The staff try their best to recreate years gone by. Station is best place to park your car if you visit the line.. much cheaper than at Sheringham. There is a small café, model railway and railway display to pass your time while you wait for trains

Brilliant day out with the family and children get to see a piece of history. The carriages are better than the modern day ones. Can have a lovely walk down to beach in Sheringham once you been on a couple of rides and visit the shops on route.

What a lovely day visit to this little railway. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was so much to see we needed more than just the 1 day we had planned. We will return again in the future to Finnish what we missed. 👍❤️👍

Lovely experience. Beautiful engine, very clean carriages. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Took the time to chat with my little girl and could tell she really loved trains. The model railways at Holt were brilliant. The two blokes working on them were very friendly and took time to talk to us about Thomas the tank engine and the different models.

A vert pretty heritage railway. The ride is quite short but you can ride as often as you like on a day ticket. However the stations have a buffet and model railway so are well worth exploring. We rode from Holt to Sheringham and then got off to explore the town, which is lovely with a beautiful beach.

Well worth a trip. On our return trip we managed to experience steam and diesel, antique and very vintage carriages. So much effort by those who restore. The Holt stop is a little out of town so recommend park there and travel to Sheringham...though even on a gloomy autumn day it was heaving.

Lovely historical station with plenty to see and learn about. The history of this railway and this station is fascinating. It was also cool to learn about the tv shows that were filmed along this line over the years. The rail car at the end is also fascinating.

An excellent heritage line with friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately the steamies couldn't run when were there due to the heatwave, but the diesels were just as much fun, especially for the little ones. A well kept and loved line and the passion for the railway is clear when you speak to the staff. Looking forward to our next trip on the Poppy line!
