I ordered a meal but was just sent a portion of chips because the waitress misheard my order. I then paid for a full meal - the cost of the chips and was served a kebab with cold chips as they came out 30 minutes apart. I wouldn’t be leaving a bad review if I had to fight to not pay for the chips wrongly brought out and my full meal was served hot! You are not a cheap pub so the attitude and solution to the issue was poor!

Massively overpriced and massively underwhelming food all served by surly and rude staff. I ordered a kids fish and chips and a chicken souvlaki (£14). When I went to the bar to order my food a new group had sat at my table. I explained this to the bar man and asked if he could just stick another table number down but this was in the too difficult box. Instead I was advised that it was my problem and I had to go and tell them to move. The kids meal arrived fairly promptly which I was pleased about but after waiting a further half hour and no sign of my chicken souvlaki I went to chase it up. The bar maid found it sat on the side but assured me it had only just been put there, needless to say I bit into it, it was stone cold. I sent it back and ordered another one but no sign of an apology. Eventually I got two dried out tasteless skewers on top of a pitta the size of a digestive biscuit and a tiny portion of chips, all for £14. In summary, a lovely location but don’t go here. It’s a rip off, the staff are rude. They’re clearly playing on their location but only interested in doing things on the cheap and having your money off you.

Nice country pub that was very busy on a Sunday at midday. It has huge capacity with a massive beer garden & car park but the smallest bar in the world. There was at least one other bar (possibly more) but, even though there were huge queues, they kept them closed 🤷. Despite the large number of customers, the Sunday roasts we ordered came quite quickly (40 minutes). The portion sizes were acceptable (a little smaller than I had hoped) and not very hot. The prices were reasonable Overall a nice experience & I would be happy to go back.

5* venue, food, service, room, ambience, this place has it all. Best country inn/pub meal I have had in a long time. Room was well appointed and very reasonably priced. I will definitely be returning.

An absolute beautiful setting, such an amazing set up with both inside and outside dining. Great beer selection and a delicious cider on tap. We arrived with no booking a party of three and sat outside. Service was okay, seems to be quite a young team with no obvious manager on site reception wasn't very warm from the get go. The food was nice but expected more considering the location. We shared a lot of small dishes, the Halloumi Fries were delicious a real treat. The asparagus dish was disappointing 5 spears thinner than my pinky finger. The chicken wings were pretty good also. All in all it was a lovely afternoon and wouldn't take much to really impress, would happily return would just be a little more picky with the menu selection.

I visited on Mothers Day for a family meal and 50th Birthday Celebration. Its was very busy and service was slow with large gaps between courses, even though we had to pre-order our meals. The staff were very friendly though and there was a lovely atmosphere. We were rushed at the end of the meal, being given a 5 min warning that the next sitting was due in. A 15-20 min reminder would have been good, so we didn't have to rush. Maybe this was because of Mothers Day and being short staffed. However, the food was delicious, and the portions are generous and because of that i would be happy to return.

Over priced and mediocre at best. Such a shame as we have always liked this pub, but we went there for lunch today for my mums birthday. Still a lovely atmosphere and great decor, however, the food was only really OK. Burgers were standard pub burgers and the duck had more carrots than duck! The thing that really got us was the 12.5% mandatory service charge. The service was minimal and we went to the bar to order our drinks, so we paid £36 for the waitress to write down our order and bring us our food! Hardly taxing! No real ‘service’. Not sure we will visit again soon. We appreciate that times are hard and prices have increased, but it just wasn’t a satisfying spend of £300. Disappointed.

Great place in the countryside. I did not get to stay long and take full advantage, but there are some amazing views to be seen in the area and a lot of hiking. The inn itself is a charming place, with a fireplace, great menu, and exceedingly hospitable staff. I would definitely recommend coming here for a meal, a stay, and some sightseeing. I will come back again to discover more of the area.

Positive: nice clean state of the art room and bathroom, nice location, good kitchen. Negative: No breakfast served on weekdays (nowhere in the village). We stayed three nights, room was never cleaned, bed was never maid, no refill on coffe/tea.

An absolutely faultless afternoon. After a nice day at Scotney Castle, we ventured out here in the hope of finding some decent grub. Despite being terribly busy, they accommodated the two of us for a Sunday lunch. We ordered beer, a Sunday roast (lamb), and a wild boar burger; and the food was unequivocally delicious. Very well presented, and very well cooked. An extremely pleasant surprise. Thanks folks!

A pleasant two night stay. Room was cosy, warm and comfortable. Bathroom had some mould so needs a proper clean that’s all that stops it being a five star review. Pub is comfortable and food good.

After a tiresome day at Go Ape (a 10 minute drive away) we stumbled upon The Vineyard and immediately we were impressed by the lovely venue and grounds. We did not book and there was 9 adults, 1 baby and a dog in our party. The waiting staff welcomed us with a smile and got us a table quite quickly with no fuss at all. Our waitress was attentive and went back over our order to make sure everything was correct. The food was amazing although expensive and might not be worth the money but nonetheless very tasty! We are so greatful for our lunch and the quick service. I’d definitely return if there was no 12% discretionary service charge! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a family celebration with 16 of us, which included several children. The staff were helpful and the food was delicious. There was a bit of a long wait for one of the meals that came out wrong, but all in all a lovely atmosphere and very nice. Would recommended!

We had a family birthday dinner celebration, service very slow albeit waiting staff apologetic. 3 of us had fish and chips which were very poor quality frozen pollock with overcooked batter , so disappointing when other pubs in the area charge the same but offer fresh haddock far superior quality and same price . Really do not expect this at ‘Elite’ pubs and won’t be returning for a long time

What should be a lovely family pub is ruined by staff who display irritation that the place has customers. I rarely come across a place so devoid of any customer centricity. It is known in the area for its appalling service. Simply asking the bar staff for more than one drink usually prompts a huff. Food is fine and quick. But…you can’t help but loathe majority of the staff

Cold inside the pub, food today below average. Fish tastless, chips cold, sweet potatoes fries cold. Ordered a tomato juice, came as half pint with loads of ice. I do not require ice! Not a great experience today. £74 a lot to pay for this experience !

We booked for a large birthday party of 17 for lunch last Sunday. Deposits paid and food ordered. The table was not ready for 45 mins. The food was not good that day. The turkey didn't taste like it had been freshly cooked. Neither the potatoes or parsnips were cooked through and certainly not roasted. Because of late start our guests were late in leaving. Last year was fine. This year not good. They did give us a discount but the party got off to a very bad start.

We had a wonderful reunion of old friends over lunch at The Vineyard last Friday. The hospitality, food and service were all fabulous and Adam, Ben and Willis were amazing hosts! Would thoroughly recommend this excellent pub!!!

Had lunch yesterday and enjoyed the food very much. Sea bass was perfectly cooked and presented. Our server, Victoria, was skilled, friendly and efficient. Thank you.

Went for lunch today, I thought the menu was a bit limited for lunch would like to see a lighter lunch menu! Thought £9.50 for one fish cake is a bit expensive, and £8 for a dessert is a bit much!! I’ve been to a few elite pubs, and find the menu a bit boring now! Don’t think I’ll be returning in a hurry!

WOULDN’T RECOMMEND. Came here after Bewl Water as reviews looked good on Google. Turns out looks are deceiving! Booked online before arriving thinking it might be quite busy due to the look of the place but it was practically empty. From start to finish customer service poor. The waitress made us feel as though we were unable to dine if we hadn’t made a booking- Remember, practically empty and it’s Monday early evening. Anyhow the manager said it did not matter whether we had booked or not and pointed to a dusty table in the corner. We made the choice to sit outside as weather was nice. A flimsy A4 printed paper menu, tacky for look and price of the place. Food was not great, Chef special beef medallions came on a bed of fine beans which took up majority of the plate, sauce that came with it was way too sweet and combination just didn’t blend and oregano used in the potato which was quite odd. Pizza was ok could of been cooked longer. After we ate we waited a hour to order desserts and the table still wasn’t cleared- bring on the wasps! Went and ordered desserts and when the waitress arrived with them there was no place to put them and ended up setting them down on another table for 5 minutes until our table was cleared! Sticky toffee pudding was a-bit burnt, Eton mess had more whipped cream than anything else in it. It’s the small things that make a difference in service and food quality and unfortunately the place did not live up to its stars and 1000 reviews. Lovely space but definitely won’t be coming back. Second to worst service I’ve ever experienced.

Been here many times over the years and it's always been fantastic!! A really beautiful place with a huge garden and plenty of space for dogs and kids. Food is great and the staff are very helpful. Plentiful parking seals the deal! You really should stop by if you're in the area.

Popped in on a Wednesday afternoon for a late lunch and they were kind enough to find us a table (I didn't think to book). Great food and service, highly recommend - but would book to be on the safe side.

Excellent, Way above my expectations! I just stopped there for a cool drink. Had an amazing lunch and I would have stayed all day. The staff are lovely, food is excellent and the garden is amazing.

We stopped for a late lunch and everything was delicious! Very happy with the choice, we definitely coming back here. And they even have a meal for the doggies!! How lovely is that?? Ines was our waitress and she took great care of us :)

Great place for food and chill. Very respectful. The outside garden is great and occasionally the outside bar is open too. There are one or two IPAs. There's also larger, plus a great selection of wines. My only gripe is the staff synergy. Some of them clearly don't get on with each other and the vibe rubs off. However, individually when they serve you, they are friendly.

Lovely food and a nice atmosphere. This pub was busy on a Tuesday afternoon, which was great to see. The menu is limited, but the food is very tasty.

Family birthday party for 13 last Monday. The table was set in a lovely space where we could enjoy a very nice evening. The food was good but drinks a little expensive. The staff were excellent especially Naomi who helped put up the decorations and did the service. Thank you Naomi.

Busy, crowded pub/restaurant serving great choice of traditional fare. Waiters busy but attentive and efficient. Would have preferred a pet-free venue, but dog owners kept their animals under control fortunately.

We booked a table for 7 and it was waiting and ready when we arrived, the menu was great with something for everyone and this was complimented by great friendly service. We did not feel hurried throughout the visit. Nice country location with a good garden. Well worth a visit.

Excellent food and service. We booked a table at short notice on Bank Holiday Monday due to unexpected rain. Food was delicious with good choices for both the meat eaters and vegetarians. Lovely to see lots of family groups with young children having a good time too. We will definitely go back and would highly recommend it. Staff were friendly and professional.

I can't comment on the hotel rooms but I love everything about the pub. Excellent outdoor space with patio and garden. Plenty of parking. Friendly service. Extremely thoughtful menu that caters clearly to dietary requirements including vegan and gluten free. And a great wine list. I hope to be back.

Accommodation only : booked direct to get the best price. The room(s) were clean and modern, however, the spiral staircase was narrow and I would guess impossible for anyone with impaired movement. Downstairs seating area compact, large (great) bathroom. Upstairs bed area has restricted space to move around, but comfortable. TV channels limited, no ITV upstairs, but able to watch downstairs. All in all, a reasonable price.

Such a relaxing atmosphere. Family and dog friendly. The restaurant manager and staff were so helpful with my Daughter who was, at the time, in a leg cast, such great service! Harveys pub but does a great IPA too. Customers were chatty at the time of my visit. Clean and felt relaxing. Good walks around the pub which the staff are happy to discuss with you. Five stars for all the above. Big thanks for a memorable visit and time.

Friendly and quick service. Great food and ale selection. Reasonable prices. Not many other nice places in the area so recommend booking to ensure you can get seated.

Nice setting, right next to a vineyard as the name suggests. Very dog friendly pub so would highly recommend it if you are looking for a pub to take along your pooches. Food is also good as expected from all Elite pub chains. The wait was a bit too long for dinner service hence one less star but we did enjoy the drinks whilst waiting. The non-alcoholic cocktails are always a winner!

Accommodated our large group, friendly service. Good ambiance, unfussy country place. Beers were quite limited, light lagers and just a couple of others but nice ones. Linguine well balanced, good blend of flavours, firm prawns. Desert very well presented, but slightly strange texture on the topping. Coffee came out a bit cold unfortunately.

Lovely split level rooms, spiral staircase, real coffee machine, low ceilings in bedroom. Clean, tidy and great powershower. Excellent food though slightly pricey and a discretionary service charge is added to all bills, no breakfast for guests on week days. That said, lovely place, worth a visit.

Great setting and nice garden however the service is from worst to no existent. We were 3 families. I ordered fish and chips adult and kids portion. Food for all table arrived except ours. Nobody even came over to check until we had to go to the bar and got told that even so we paid for the food staff forgot to order it! Our meal arrived when all the party finishes eating. We asked for skinny fries but instead got chunky chips and when told this to staff he said following: oh common it’s been a long day and It wasn’t me who took the orders anyway. You can get your free fries, “ attitude was like I never sen anywhere - just horrible. Free! ?!?? Well I paid for fries actually but didn’t get them. We got totally ignored by all staff since they were too busy moving chairs around. I don’t recommend this place at all
