Nice place to sit and eat when the sun is out. We had Halloumi Burger and sweet potato chips which were decent. As dessert we had various cakes and none were up to scratch. Service was little slow. Won't mind going back but also not going to go out of our way to visit it again.

Great breakfast! Good coffee too. They do the best Poached Eggs on Avocado and Ciabatta with bacon. Staff are nice and friendly - though could be a bit quicker and better at their jobs! Lovely outdoor seating on The Pantiles. Wines are poorly stored and often undrinkable though, and the barman doesn't understand the difference

It looks nice on the out side but that's about it. I went here with my wife and daughter, and a friend,we went during the food festival at lunch time (around 1:30pm). It took 30 minutes after sitting down and getting the attention of 3 different waitresses only to ignore us. I then had to go find a menu for us all. After a while they still ignored us so I had to go find the till to go order where I found 4 of them standing and chatting. A while later the food came, nothing amazing but nothing horrible, just average, hence the two stars instead of 1. The service was so bad that it made our whole experience horrible. I will certainly be avoiding this place in the future. After we finished our food, they disappeared again, took a while to get the bill, then they got the bill wrong and I had to correct them. As well as that we had some fairly loud people on the table next to us, it turned out that this was the waiting staff eating lunch on their break complaining about customers. Pretty poor behaviour from all staff to be honest.

Ok service, slightly pricey and OK cakes. Half the place was used as store room. Looked like this place has had better days

Brought the children here for lunch. We sat inside as there was no space outside but that would have been our preference anyway as we are all dangerously pale and it was a blazing hot day! The only problem seemed to be that the staff were more interested in serving those outside than those inside. Maybe this was a misperception, but that's how it felt. Food was good, including vegetarian options. I would say that the children's portions would be too small for any child older than about 9 or 10, but there was a great selection of cakes for pudding as well so they were fine!

Great place for coffee & cake. They also do meals but I haven't eaten there as yet. The cake table is a real draw from the doors with lots of gluten free options. Beautiful building that is a venue for wedding receptions etc too which i didnt realise. Friendly staff & reasonable prices.

The level of service in this place is disgraceful. A waitress come over and asked if we were ready to order. We did yes, she then walked away and ignored any attempt to attract her attention. 10 minutes later we were finally able to order, after having to ring them. This will be the last time I eat here.

I just do love this place. It's a charming building in historic pantiles with an excellent chef. The Chicken and bacon chowder for lunch was warming and filling. Kept me going all afternoon. I have enjoyed fabulous breakfasts here too. Did I mention the staff. Service is great and very pleasant.

👍👍 This Weatherspoons is quite a bit different from the average 'spoons. Set in an old opera house, they have managed to keep so much of the original interior design and decor in place, making it incredibly eye catching. Be sure to visit the upper floors if they are open.
