A fun place to bring little kids. They can look at the fish, and feed them if they like. Also a nice little cafe with a soft play. It's only a small soft play, so children over 5 probably wouldn't find it entertaining.

A very large selection of marine, freshwater and cold water fish. A knowledgeable member of staff is usually available for all types of fish. A large selection of products and tanks also. A visit is a must, including the coffee shop and children's play area.

This is an amazing shop, I almost always get a different member of staff ready to help out with information about the fish and recommendations to make sure the fish don't fight each other. Most of the staff are knowledgeable about everything someone with a tank will need to know. I did have a member of staff pass me off to another member of staff, due to lack of knowledge to answer the questions , which shows even new or less knowledgeable staff find ways to be able to help the customers. Best fish shop local to Hemel, will always recommend weather you are new to the aquatic life or finding new fish to add to your tanks

It was great. The cafeteria was nice and clean. Our two young children enjoyed the soft play are🙍‍♀️🙍‍♀️ and it's been sanitised by the staff, make sure it's clean for children to play until you have your coffee, tea.... Also we checked out the aquatic are too as we have two fish tank, well price is reasonable comparing to other stores we had been....of course we come home with fish 🐟 😁🥰 If I remember rightly they not open on Tuesday and Wednesday....

Huge choice of fish, aquariums and supporting goods. There is a nice cafe and a soft play as well. Kids enjoyed feeding Japanese Koi fish in store.

Staff are full of knowledge and always happy to help. Large Koi ponds here with incredibly friendly fish which are not shy. Very relaxing to sit and watch. Cafe for the adults and children's play area at the back for a quick break. Great day trip out!

I went there today with my family including 4 young children although the fella there was helpful we felt some hostility towards us by an elderly female staff member I wish I had got her name but I was too busy dealing with feeling very uncomfortable. She was so friendly to the white male customer before us and as soon as it was our turn she moved away from the till and gave us dirty looks. I knew straight away because we are Muslims she did not like us. We left there feeling disheartened even my kids sensed it straight away as soon as we left the store they mentioned the older lady giving us dirty looks. We do generally get a lot of stares from staff member at the St Albans store we are used to it as we have always visited this store for last 15 years as we have a pond but today it was made blatantly obvious.

The biggest Maidanhead Aquatics shop I've been to. The place is so open and the products are in their own area, big variety of fish Tropical, Marine, Pond fish. Great prices on fishtanks and pond products. I am buying there regularly as the staff are super helpful in my case and they can give you great advice in chosing what's best for your needs. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORKS BOYS AND GIRLS PROUD TO BE A LOYAL BUYER IN YOUR BRANCH.

Elderly man working in the marine livestock section very hostile. You prefer to have never asked a question in the first place. I pop in sometimes to restock but after this encounter I’ll go a little bit further out to another store. Not the first time either. Staff obviously need training, or counselling (perhaps they are unhappy with their job).

Great variety of stock and the staff were very knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to help. Plus there is a cafe with a small soft play area which is a great pit stop with the little ones.

My local Maidenhead Aqu centres are Wobourn and Bletchley, my fave branch is In Enfield, when I passby to work. Decided to detour over to St Albans, lovely experience, really good staff over in the main fish house, I cant fault the staff on (young asian lad), very helpful and honest as well, probably head back tmw as,I saw a crown Betta with the colours I want, question is what do I do with my all blue Betta? Anyway, I will be returning as they have a massive stock of fish, what draws me back in is the nice atmosphere created within the store-many thanks and keep up the good work. Also to comment I have spent £100s on plants, probably lost about 3 with Maidenhead, I find the quality is far better, prices are reasonable, plants vary and are very well raised for quality, compared to other independent sellers , to which majority all have died or come with uninvited snails and even planaria.

Fantastic place to entertain little kids, their soft play is perfect for parents to sit near and watch with a cup of coffee, without having to go in. The only thing to be aware of is they don't allow you to take your own food.. (think you should be allowed to bring snacks like chopped fruit if you're paying for a meal...) They do little meals like sandwiches and beans on toast so ideal for kids tea time. Great place to look at the fish, have a little play and tea before going home.

Terrible experience, my daughter came down with a fever whilst I was in the cafe so I decided to leave. Once I got to the car my daughter was sick so after dealing with her there I decided to take her back to the toilet to clean her up. Unfortunately as I entered she was little bit sick again. I went to the toilet to clean her up and as I was leaving three employees giggling behind the counter tried to hand me spray and a wipe to clean there floor. I explained to them that I had to look after my daughter who is now incredibly ill, they told me I had to clean it up because they weren't cleaners. I have worked in hospitality my whole life and that is the worst display of customer service I have ever seen, if I had someone to help me with my daughter I would clean it of my own accord. But when I am struggling with a sick child have some empathy. The fact they were all laughing as well and thought it was funny is disgusting. On a final note the man in the cafe gave excellent service and the others should look towards him for advice when it comes to service. What an absolute joke of a place

Love this place. I take my granddaughter to play in the soft play and also give her £1 so she can feed the Koi carp. We go there every week. The guys in soft play area are so friendly and helpful

Great range of fish, tanks and everything you need to set up your own tank and maintain it. Overall nice experience with a nice coffee shop and children's soft play area

I visited Maidenhead aquatics earlier today with my girlfriend and I purchased a shubunkin goldfish. I brought the fish home to put it in my pond and 4 hours later the fish had died very suddenly for no obvious signs. I would not recommend purchasing pond fish from here as I am absolutely disgusted by how quick my fish died. The staff were helpful but a lack of communication and customer service skills.

1st time here to feed the fish with my daughter, at £2 a pot, about 9 large tanks £6 later fish fed😲 they have a cafe and a small play area which is accessible on the hour only, so when getting there at quarter past the hour didn't take 45mins to feed the fish so we left, didn't know it had time slot.

I am very disappointed on my visit today. If this continues, no one will go shopping. We need place like this. No respect at all. When I ask a product, straight slap on the face saying no. I think whole system got to change. Store manager may be sleeping. I drove all the way from HP7 to Maidenhead. Waste of time. I wanted a filter part and background. At the back only one staff was very helpful. As you could see , Maidenhead almost getting empty. Prices for fish is very too much. Something wrong. Please customers speak out. Soon this store also going to close down I am very disappointed. Staff at the Cointreau very very rude. Doing her stuff was important to her. Not customer

Highly Recommend this play. All staff are knowledgeable and able to help with any enquiries. Kay the store manager is extremely friendly as are all staff. Play Area inside located next to the onsite cafe. Multiple koi ponds, one large one with a feeding machine.

Clean tanks, healthy looking fish, knowledgeable staff. Lovely little coffee shop with indoor soft play. Tanks and accessories all a reasonable price.

We used to enjoy taking the kids there and whilst there having some food and drink in the cafe and the kids could play on the soft play. Sadly it's now £2.50 per child for up to 50 minutes so we won't be using it any more. We have 2 young kids so £5 for the soft play means no money for drinks/food. Shame as it was a really good idea when it was free to cafe users.

A lovely selection of fish, including cold water, tropical, and marine. There is also a wonderful variety of corals and anemones for marine set-ups, and plenty of crustaceans. Outside are many varieties of pond plants and other equipment. All living things seem to look healthy and in good condition, and the staff I have spoken to are very knowledgeable. Although we are not yet in a position to own a fish tank we visit Maidenhead Aquatics quite frequently for inspiration and will certainly purchase from here when we are ready!

Ideal place to go see plenty of fish for sale and pond plants. Also have indoor pools of fish that you can feed cost £1. for small container grandchildren love doing this, have an indoor soft play area and cafe. Also sell aquariums and all sundries needed for both ponds and fish tanks or aquariums. Recommend.

Just been to the cafe with the kids and it's the first time in the country I see someone cleaning the soft play spraying with antibacterial for the past 10 year since become a parent. I recommend this place to everyone.

A variety of fish to view and a vast selection of fish tank accessories etc to browse and purchase. There is a cafe that has soft play for the young ones. £2.50 per child for 50 minutes. The filter coffee was enjoyable too! Tables all appeared clean and all staff encountered were polite and friendly.

A huge Maidenhead Aquatics.. large selection of fish and mostly well maintained. One gentleman was extremely helpful at the front desk but I got a different feeling from the guys cleaning the tanks. Unfortunately I did notice a few poorly fish which made me not want to buy. Especially the Bettas.

Both myself and my husband have found maidenhead aquatics in St Albans to be very helpful. The staff are friendly, they have good knowledge of fish and are always happy to help. Kay the manager was happy to hold on to some items that we had picked out until the following week until we could get over to pay for them. We would definitely recommend a visit and they have a wide selection of all that you need in the fish keeping hobby.

I brought my youngest granddaughter for the first time and we had fun feeding the fish especially when we got splashed then a little while in the soft play. It was spotlessly clean and cleaned thoroughly in-between sessions. The added bonus was the best cappuccino.

  • 3/5 Derek W. 2 years ago on Google
A truly vast aquarium and pond fish and equipment super store. Shame about the poor cafe and bored disinterested staff. There's plenty of parking and this really would be a good place to buy decorative fish including some truly huge Coi Carp for a large garden pond or small decorative lake(?).

  • 5/5 Steve “Steve.H.” H. 2 years ago on Google
Big bright clean and customer friendly shop. So different to most aquarium/aquatics shops!( Which are usually bit damp and underlit and not very nice to be in). Staff are helpful, stock is enormous and fish to buy...well there's so many. Thoroughly recommend a visit if you have an aquarium or pond at home.
