Good sandy beach which is covered at high tide - check before you go! Basic but very clean public toilets. Bay inspector and lifeguards. Free parking on the road. Quieter than the more popular bays. Good kiosk selling teas, coffees & ices plus lovely homemade bread pudding. Larger cafe a few minutes further up the prom serving cooked meals. Didn't visit there so can't comment. The Swan pub with beer garden on opposite side of the road.

Lovely beach . Even in the summer holidays it isn't to busy. There's plenty of open area and wall areas to sit by. Nice sandy beach with thousands of shells all washed up by the top of beach which the kids love seeing all the difference ones 🀩the little rocky areas are nice to explore and ideal for abit if water to play in for the little ones without having to go into the main sea.

Easily my favourite spot along this part of the coastline! Concrete brutalist vibes mixed with the natural walls and other human influence it’s a diverse area. A shame about the unexpected dead end, but some fantastic sunsets can be witnessed here

Lovely and clean, wheelchair accessible with beach wheelchair available, toilets, littke beach shop for icecream, buckets and spades etc and the West Bay Cafe serves lovely food, good value for money and they have vegan and gluten free options available. Sandy beach, great for building sand castles and shallow sea, great for paddling and for children. Life guards on duty, swimming safe between the red and yellow flags, outside of those there are rocks on the seabed. No dogs allowed on the beach between 10am and 6pm.

Great find. Lovely big beach and the little hut selling a cup of tea for a quid was a winner. Such a friendly and clean place and perfect to take the kids

This was absolutely one of our fav beaches and its beautiful with good facilities however the stench of sewage (which apparently comes from the seaweed) the last few times we've been has completely ruined it.

Great place to park right on the sea front without ticket machines and traffic wardens . Jet ski cafe next door . A few campervans there feels like a community . Just waiting for the council to get wind off it and put the mockers on it with a parking camera like they did at west brook !

This cafe has had an upgrade and it shows. It always has had great food which it still has but the actual structure has been improved. The views of the bay are stunning, the food is amazing and the service

I visited here in October 2022. It is easy to reach this area by train from London and it is a nice area to explore on the Viking Trail.

Absolutely beautiful stunning sandy beach and area with beautiful Victorian splendour in surrounding streets . Well worth a visit and unspoilt like a lot of places.

Discovered West Bay simply on pure luck. Wanted to explore more locations within Kent and ended-up in West Bay. Since my discovery visited again and will repeat in the future. Not very crowded like many other Kent coasts, family and kids friendly. One of the hidden jems of Kent Coast.

When the tide is out, there is a VAST expanse of sand for children to play on. There were quite a number of dog walkers on the beach with their pets. Obviously there are no restrictions (unlike Herne Bay). Cafe nearby on the prom for refreshments, and also life-guards were in attendance.

Pleasantly surprised to find lifeguards on duty on a wet late May weekend. Beach is a bit shell covered, but there's a lovely walk to be had along the back of the beach.

Lovely with the tide out, lots of room for the dog to run like a lunatic. The granddaughter and ourselves loved the beach.

A beach that is truly a place for real beach lovers. Massive expanses of sand and a water line that tapers gently out to sea without sudden drops. The sand is encased on either side by big sections of rocky areas which are amazing for exploring the pools and finding crabs and little ecosystems. The one cafe is well put together with a nice balcony eating area which allows for eating your food whilst enjoying the beautiful vista of the ocean and sands.

Love this beach, locals only, always space, gets chilly and windy if it's not a very hot day, send is wet, but perfect for playing for the little ones.

Lovely, sandy beach. Toilets, a cafe and free on street parking, and much quieter than Margate beach. Lots of fun paddling and digging in the sand.

I live local to the bay and love walking the dog and boarding down there. The westbay cafe is also amazing.
