A lovely warm sunny April day out here for our club, Bexley Sub Aqua Club 982 (scuba divers). 6 of us made it along. Friendly and well run dive centre, great parking and snack bar. The lake inhabitants ie. the Pike, and Crayfish were most accommodating, the big Carp were very camera shy unfortunately. Good place for the new and less experienced divers. And a mellow chill out for old hands like me 😂

Great place to learn how to dive, would thoroughly recommend anyone thinking about getting in to the sport around the London area to go with these guys. Ridiculously friendly and extremely knowledgeable instructors. I will be using these for all future courses. Thank you Mike and Yvonne!

Great site for practicing skills or training. Maybe I was lucky but the water was very clear and I could easily see the bottom at around 6m in depth from the pontoon (your mileage may vary 😊). The lake itself is full of interesting stuff to find and explore such as boats, vans, pipes to swim through and a large structure built from large plastic cubes. Water depth is around 9-10m so safe for inexperienced divers etc. Out of the water I found the staff to be friendly (especially Pepper, the small black dog) and the facilities such as the toilets and changing rooms were nice and clean. If hungry I can also recommend the loaded Nachos 🤤. I'll be coming back to Wraysbury as it's easy to get to.and less crowded than Stoney Cove!

A really good dive centre with plenty of attractions to explore. There is some interesting wildlife, including crayfish and pike which are really interesting to see. There is good food, drinks and air fills all available on site for a reasonable price.

A few years ago, my new year’s resolution was to spend more time doing something I love away from work. I could only think of scuba diving! I’ve never dived in the UK and have been a holiday diver. After all, most people think of blue clear warm waters when they imagine diving. I first went to Wraysbury with my dive buddy on a course with one of London’s Dive Schools. Let’s call them Boyster for the purpose of this review, Needless to say, they nearly put us off diving that day. We persisted with them and finished the courses and decided to try to dive at least twice a month. We went back to Wraysbury as fun divers this time and this is when our true dive adventure really started. We got to see the Wraysbury team there conducting their own courses. We saw how professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and fun they were. They had better course structure, smaller group of students and very attentive Dive Masters that we wished we knew about their dive school when we booked our courses. We came to realise that most dive schools in London use Wraysbury to run their courses. Better late than never, we guessed. So, we both approached the Dive team and booked our Rescue course. Let me tell you, as demanding as this course is, it was one of the most enjoyable we did. Mark and Yvonne were very thorough, made it fun and ensured the scenarios we had on the final day kept us on our toes. Highly recommend this course for all divers. We continued to dive every weekend all through the year. There is no better time to see what the lake really looks like than in winter. The lake has a lot of attractions. From training platforms, the cave system, to the wrecks, bus, Die Hard Taxi… with Richard adding a big new attraction in the next couple of weeks!! There is something for everyone. Visibility varies but normally is as good as the divers in the water. Parking is onsite. And if you do not drive like me, the train station is 3 minutes away. No walking for miles or getting down a steep slope to get wet. There are changing rooms with 4 large cubicles (Currently out of use due to COVID-19) and Ladies and Gents toilet which are clean and comfortable. The kitchen has a great selection of hot and cold food and drinks. Bacon and Egg sandwiches never disappoint! Burgers and chips always a winner. If you are looking for a new toy or just looking to add more spares ; ) check out the shop (Or Speak to the lovely Jo while the club house remains closed). They have a great selection of masks, regs, fins and any other bit you could think of. Looking to service your Regs or cylinder, talk to Mark. Refill prices are fair. They offer different gasses. They have a well-maintained high-grade set of compressors (not just one) and you could hire a full kit or what you need and leave a bank card as deposit. We were looking to add a few UK open Water dives, so we joined them on a trip to Lundy island to dive with Seals. That was Amazing. Always worth speaking to one of the staff to find out what trips they have going.

I just finished my Open Water Dive course. All the instructor is extremely friendly, patient and helpful, (even though I am foreigner/Asian). The instructor is always making sure that you are comfortable with the water/skills, then they will only proceed to the next exercise with no rush. If you are not comforted with the skills, they will let you (practice more / do more dive) with no extra cost. so that you are enjoying diving, not just rushing to get the Cert. While I am doing the course, its always 1 to 1 basis so they are always putting 100% attention on you which they can dissolve any problem. In the lake, there is plenty of attraction for you to discover. *I do saw a lobster on top a trunk which I found it fascinating. At the site, there is also a dive store and a cafe on it. In the dive store, there is all type of equipment you can get from beginner till tech dive gears. They will give you all sort of professional advice when you are finding or buying any equipment. During the winter, you can get some hot drinks before/after you dive to warm you up. If you are hungry, they do serve food too. I highly recommend anyone to visit them!

A very nice diving centre, just that the visibility is poor though🖖🏻

Average dive lake, very convenient for training students. Annoying that they don't take card payments. And there fussy about where you park.

Friendly staff, very welcoming. Reasonably priced entrance & air fills, lots of underwater attractions although questionable viz in places... There's a resident dog who loves everyone except those in hi-viz jackets - as I found out!

Friendly, knowledgeable staff that have alot of patience, Yvonne allowed us to easily rebook due to illness which was appreciated. Mark and Jack made us feel more at ease in the lake and were fantastic, a great help to me, a nervous newbie. Thank you

I came to refill my two scuba diving tanks, and I encountered an elderly gentleman who handled the service. Unfortunately, my experience was rather unpleasant due to his behavior. To start, he told me the cost for filling both tanks was 24 pounds, which surprised me because it had never been that expensive during my previous visits. Despite the price difference, I was willing to pay, but he insisted on cash only. This led me to ask if he could begin filling while I went to get some cash. However, his response was impolite, and he made it clear he would wait for me. Feeling uncomfortable with the situation, I decided to take my tanks and informed him that I would look for another place for my scuba tank refills. I was disappointed with the treatment I received and puzzled as to whether it was related to my Spanish accent or if he behaved this way with everyone he served. *responding at your reply: Not at all, my complaint is based on the manner and arrogance with which you served me. You were very impolite, and I don't think I gave you any reason to treat me like that. Also, if you fill the tanks while I go to get some cash, if I don't pay you, you have my scuba tanks with you. So, I don't know how you didn't get paid in those other times, but that's not the point. Maybe I caught you on a bad day or something, as I don't really know you, but that's not my fault, and I was polite to you.

Have done my Dry Suit Specialty there. Really like their Bacon cheese burger. However the visibility is extremely poor under water (probably just bad luck). I cannot see the platform when kneeling on it so the visibility is probably below 1m. Lost my fin as well (probably my own fault) and not really possible to recover. But as the instructor said, if you can deal with this situation, you will probably be able to dive anywhere without strong current. So good for skills and training (though you may suffer) but no point to do fun dive.

Fantastic inland diving spot, really good place to take beginners for Scuba practice. Clean changing rooms and toilets, the best bit is the people, friendly warm and welcoming.

Feels odd giving Wraysbury 5 stars, but it's local to me and the water was quite warm. Even got to see some large carp. It's competitively priced and well organised

Did my open water diver certification with Yvonne at Wraysbury Dive Centre. Had a great time, very well organised, and Yvonne is a great and very patient instructor. Altogether had a great time, and obtained my open water dive certification......would not hesitate to recommend these guys. I'm defiantly going back her to get my advanced diver certification.

My son (11) attended with some of his scout pack at the weekend and he absolutely loved it. Very friendly and competent staff who provided 1:1 instruction pre and during the dive. He can’t wait to go back. Thank you.

First time here. Well run, nice site, fairly shallow, but means longer dives. Lots of small wrecks to explore. Chilled out vibe, nice food and friendly staff. Better than Stoney for me. We will be back !

Good instructors, good atmosphere, staff really helpful and always there if you need support. I've read people complaining about the visibility, but it is a lake.. it isn't a swimming pool or open ocean. it's a good site for training.

Just finished my PADI Open Water and the level of instruction was excellent. Great instructor to student ratios and all dive skills taught clearly. Highly recommended for anyone looking to open themselves up to a new hobby.

Great place close to London for freediving and scuba diving! Cash only, and get there early. Changing facilities are just what you need.

  • 5/5 Teddy N. 2 years ago on Google
Best UK dive site to practice your scuba skills, as they say if you can dive in Wraysbury, you can dive in any condition. On a serious note, friendly staff and good food, staff are great but only cash. Vis are like 1-3m especially on weekends to about 10m deep. Don't arrive early, gates only open at the opening time and cannot queue outside beforehand.

Worst place iv ever dived in the 20 years i have been diving. Staff are very rude and overall very short and abrupt. The facilities are appalling. Nowhere to change due to changing rooms basically falling apart and god forbid you get changed in a toilet where you will get very told off for doing so. Avoid if you want a pleasant and nice day of diving. Plenty more better locations.

I couldn’t praise Wraysbury enough with helping me complete my Open water dive course. A few weeks before going to Wraysbury I had a terrible experience with another dive centre. My confidence had been completely knocked and I was about to give up on diving altogether. From a recommendation my partner and I got in contact with Wraysbury and from the offset they were very understanding and confident they would get us back to enjoying diving again. They were completely right, over the dives they helped me get my confidence back and by the end of the dives my partner and I were smiling again. I learned so much and they were patience, kind and helpful throughout our dives. I wanted to really thank Mike, Yvonne and Simon they were all amazing instructors!!

Very best Dive resort and the best place to train to be a diver, oh, and let's not forget the great food!

  • 4/5 nick l. 2 years ago on Google
Great place to dive with friendly staff. However water was a bit green and visibility not that great due to the amount of silt having been kicked up by the number of divers using it recently

Thank you Wraysbury Dive Centre I had 3 dive computers that needed the batteries changing for a upcoming dive trip to Eygpt. I had gone to a local dive shop near me and they had told me that they would have them done in time. They lied, and they wouldn't have been ready. I phoned Wraysbury and spoke to them and they assured me they could get them turned around in the few days left before I went on my trip. I took the computers in on Wednesday afternoon and Jo kept me informed of progress and Emailed early Friday afternoon to say the last computer would be ready by 3pm if I wanted to collect them that day. I went to Wraysbury Saturday and picked up the finished computers and they had done in 2 days what the other shop couldn't do despite having them for 2 1\2 weeks. What fantastic service from the team there, I cant thank them enough

This place has a bad wrap and I honestly had very low expectations for my first visit but I was pleasantly surprised. Sure the place is a little run down and could use some investment. The cash only thing is a pain and parking is limited but all this is common knowledge now. All the staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful. Lots of stuff to dive and plenty of opportunity to practice low vis diving especially on a Sunday. Will it be the best dive you've had this season? Unlikely but will you be able to try out your kit and skills for a reasonable price with a cup of tea at the end. Wraysbury will always be a consideration for me going forward and hopefully sometime soon they will join the rest of us and go cashless.

Use it for quick close dive kit check. loads of platforms to use for training. Viz can be bad if there is loads of trainning and divers in the water. Gas fills are cheap. BUT cash only site

Everything a Diver needs is here. A nice Lake with sunken vehicles / planes to explore if you can find them. Vi's was poor today. Still had a good dive so much so I am going back tomorrow

Famous for its poor visibility, it's a great place to practice navigation. There are loads of underwater attractions to explore too. Good parking, cafe and dive shop.

Enjoyed learning here, instructors are excellent, facilities rather basic but not a problem. Has anyone else found that their clothes come back smelling of weed after diving here?! I didn't notice anything at the time I've since thrown away a t-shirt because it seemed to have fully absorbed this suspicious smell even after a couple washes...I didn't wear it whilst diving but it did spend some hours in one of those boxes...swimming gear had the same smell...

Community-centred space with a little cafe on site and great people around. If in winter, layer up it gets cold.

We couldn't have chosen a better dive centre for our open water course. I was especially nervous following a panic during a previous dive abroad, but our instructors (Yvonne, Rich, Simon, Gema, Michel, Charlotte, Chris, Martin, Des and Carl) were extremely patient and encouraging, allowing me to take my time to become comfortable with the skills required. Don't hesitate, get booked in with wraysbury dive centre and you won't regret it!

I started my open water course here the staff were so friendly, my instructor Mark is very funny and very helpful he had lots of patience and he was teaching us with lots of passion to scuba I managed to get a referral and passed my open water in Tenerife. I thank everyone at the dive centre for helping me achieve my goal. I highly recommend Wraysbury Dive Centre. Thank you guys for the best experience.

Yvonne instructed me in December 2023 for the Padi Dry Suit qualification. I have also been to Wraysbury several times before with my girlfriend. Yvonne is a great instructor and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her/Wraysbury.
