A
few
years
ago,
my
new
year’s
resolution
was
to
spend
more
time
doing
something
I
love
away
from
work.
I
could
only
think
of
scuba
diving!
I’ve
never
dived
in
the
UK
and
have
been
a
holiday
diver.
After
all,
most
people
think
of
blue
clear
warm
waters
when
they
imagine
diving.
I
first
went
to
Wraysbury
with
my
dive
buddy
on
a
course
with
one
of
London’s
Dive
Schools.
Let’s
call
them
Boyster
for
the
purpose
of
this
review,
Needless
to
say,
they
nearly
put
us
off
diving
that
day.
We
persisted
with
them
and
finished
the
courses
and
decided
to
try
to
dive
at
least
twice
a
month.
We
went
back
to
Wraysbury
as
fun
divers
this
time
and
this
is
when
our
true
dive
adventure
really
started.
We
got
to
see
the
Wraysbury
team
there
conducting
their
own
courses.
We
saw
how
professional,
knowledgeable,
friendly,
and
fun
they
were.
They
had
better
course
structure,
smaller
group
of
students
and
very
attentive
Dive
Masters
that
we
wished
we
knew
about
their
dive
school
when
we
booked
our
courses.
We
came
to
realise
that
most
dive
schools
in
London
use
Wraysbury
to
run
their
courses.
Better
late
than
never,
we
guessed.
So,
we
both
approached
the
Dive
team
and
booked
our
Rescue
course.
Let
me
tell
you,
as
demanding
as
this
course
is,
it
was
one
of
the
most
enjoyable
we
did.
Mark
and
Yvonne
were
very
thorough,
made
it
fun
and
ensured
the
scenarios
we
had
on
the
final
day
kept
us
on
our
toes.
Highly
recommend
this
course
for
all
divers.
We
continued
to
dive
every
weekend
all
through
the
year.
There
is
no
better
time
to
see
what
the
lake
really
looks
like
than
in
winter.
The
lake
has
a
lot
of
attractions.
From
training
platforms,
the
cave
system,
to
the
wrecks,
bus,
Die
Hard
Taxi…
with
Richard
adding
a
big
new
attraction
in
the
next
couple
of
weeks!!
There
is
something
for
everyone.
Visibility
varies
but
normally
is
as
good
as
the
divers
in
the
water.
Parking
is
onsite.
And
if
you
do
not
drive
like
me,
the
train
station
is
3
minutes
away.
No
walking
for
miles
or
getting
down
a
steep
slope
to
get
wet.
There
are
changing
rooms
with
4
large
cubicles
(Currently
out
of
use
due
to
COVID-19)
and
Ladies
and
Gents
toilet
which
are
clean
and
comfortable.
The
kitchen
has
a
great
selection
of
hot
and
cold
food
and
drinks.
Bacon
and
Egg
sandwiches
never
disappoint!
Burgers
and
chips
always
a
winner.
If
you
are
looking
for
a
new
toy
or
just
looking
to
add
more
spares
;
)
check
out
the
shop
(Or
Speak
to
the
lovely
Jo
while
the
club
house
remains
closed).
They
have
a
great
selection
of
masks,
regs,
fins
and
any
other
bit
you
could
think
of.
Looking
to
service
your
Regs
or
cylinder,
talk
to
Mark.
Refill
prices
are
fair.
They
offer
different
gasses.
They
have
a
well-maintained
high-grade
set
of
compressors
(not
just
one)
and
you
could
hire
a
full
kit
or
what
you
need
and
leave
a
bank
card
as
deposit.
We
were
looking
to
add
a
few
UK
open
Water
dives,
so
we
joined
them
on
a
trip
to
Lundy
island
to
dive
with
Seals.
That
was
Amazing.
Always
worth
speaking
to
one
of
the
staff
to
find
out
what
trips
they
have
going.
