Love this part of the Mam Tor Ridge Path. Went from Mam tor and is around an hour walk and not too difficult though to get to the top of Back Tor is a slightly steep ascent

Lovely walk in searing heat, at the side of Mam tor. Make sure you take water on a hot day and plan your route back properly or you'll get lost like we did.

On the Mam Tor - Lose Hill route you have Back Tor summit and it is probably the best point on this trail. A perfect view of the surrounding hills and valleys, a relatively steep hill where the kids will finally slow down for a moment and a lot of trees on the ridge creating an interesting view.

Well worth the visit, our day was pretty overcast in the main with views from the top limited. It’s a safe and sensible hike though, not too challenging, definitely bring plenty of water and go to the loo first! Generally quite busy, but should be enough space for everyone and paths are pretty wide, lots of space for sitting to one side and having a picnic πŸ‘

This place is one of my favorite to visit. It isn't very hard to walk, which helps. But it dies get very windy, which can be a challenge for people. Great views from the top.

Fantastic walk to do in sunny day. I went while they are doing a makeover to the hill. In the near future, it will be.more enjoyable and family friendly for the work that they are doing. The views are fantastic, you are amazed with the pintoresc pictures of the Hope Valley and the sprawled villages and cottages around them. Be careful with day you choose to go because strong winds and bad weather could make the walk less enjoyable.

To find Back Tor, follow the ridge along from Mam Tor. The walk is mostly cobbles and is moderate. The incline does fluctuate, and you'll notice how steep it is when you get to the last climb of Back Tor. It's fairly rocky and quite exhausting. The views are indeed stunning though and once at the top it's totally stunning. Walking boots advised. Keep dogs and children away from the edge. Parking is all around the local roads, or the National Trust car park. Worth a trek to, but not a five minute adventure !!

πŸ‘ Laneside Caravan Park is a very clean and well managed park. There is plenty of space between each plot. We stayed on one of their Hardstanding fully serviced site. This was level and dry and worked really well. The toilets and showers were always extremely clean and showers always hot. We stayed ne...

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Beautiful walk. Nightmare to park. As I parked about an extra 20 minutes away from the start, instead of a 4 mile walk, it was a 6 mile walk. But, luckily it included passing some beautiful Alpacas. The normal route is reasonable to walk, but not suitable for pushchairs. It's a beautiful walk and we...
