We stayed here with our two sons the night before a tour at Old Trafford Stadium tour. Both my son's are football crazy and loved the overall theme of the hotel. They had taken a ball and asked to go up a view the indoor football pitch on the roof, we were escorted up by an employee called Andy, he gave us some information regarding the hotel and then showed us round over parts including the supporters club in the basement. Andy went above and beyond and we extremely enjoyed our visit. Rooms were sizable and clean, food and drinks were all above standard.

Outstanding stay at Hotel Football, had the pleasure of meeting Chloe and Lorraine who is an absolute credit to the team, their nothing is too much trouble attitude is incredible. The food standards are amazing with the restaurant staff co constantly making sure we had everything we needed. We got to go to heaven on Sunday morning and we was blown away. From start to finish the experience was beyond 5*. We will be back. Thank you Team, especially Lorraine and Chloe

Absolutely fantastic experience from the get go!! Staff are super friendly and helpful. We arrived early from an international flight and the hotel was kind enough to keep our luggage while we went exploring and they get the rooms ready for us. Our family of 6, stayed here in celebration of my dad's 60th birthday and the hotel set up happy birthday signs, some goodies and a signed birthday card for him in his room. The rooms were clean and comfortable, complimentary items are restocked daily and rooms are cleaned daily. One morning we really needed a rest and placed up a do not disturb sign, the hotel staff still came by later to make sure that we had everything we needed and to see if any items needed restocking. The cafe downstairs was also fantastic, staff are attentive and the food is delicious! Overall great experience and great location. Would definitely recommend!!

We recently had an amazing stay here! The hotel and rooms are very clean and the staff were so helpful. Whole hotel is very well done with football theming and our room had an amazing view of Old Trafford, perfect for any football fan. I also added the Champions League Celebration Package which included birthday balloons and banners in the room and other birthday treats. Couldn’t fault this hotel one bit, would definitely stay here again for a 5 star experience.

Five star review for what it is. We had an excellent stay today. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The place is like a sports bar so don’t book if you’re looking for a very quiet hotel. However, we slept very nice with no interruption or noise. We stayed in the class of 92 room which was fantastic and had a great view of the old Trafford stadium. Gary Neville et al have done a great job and the location is perfect. Ignore all the negative reviews there are always people that you will never satisfy whatever you do. Great price, great location and great hotel!

Visited this hotel for a social evening which was held in the mezzanine room, which was called the Changing room 😀. Superb venue with lovely food and plenty of seating. The hotel and reception staff are very helpful and polite. The bar area is a must to visit.

I've been lucky enough to stay at Hotel Football on multiple occasions now and what a great venue it is, especially if you are a football fan and I get it, I really do but sadly football fan I am not (shame on me I know!). What I am a 'fan' of is nice hotels that make me feel welcome and give me a nice room and decent food after a hectic day at work! Rooms are brilliant and managed to get one of the corner rooms overlooking Old Trafford which is a pretty awesome sight! Reception and Bar teams were great, friendly and welcoming which is exactly what is expected of such a terrific venue. Only thing to let the side down is food and room service, I mean - it's OK, just not GR8...Pizza very greasy and uninviting, Madras Beef Curry - nice, could do with being a bit spicier. Room service hung up phone 4 times in a row, would rather of not been answered than being hung up on, but we got there in the end 😉 Ps - did I mention the pillows and beds? They are pretty awesome and great quality - slept like a brick, thanks #hotelfootball #manchester

What can I say about Hotel Football but AMAZING. Booked our wedding here 18 months ago and from start to finish the service, attention to details and communication was second to none. Everything was considered down to the finest detail. Nothing was a problem and everything was catered for. If anyone is considering this venue, I'd say do it. The hotel rooms are fantastic, modern and comfortable, the venue itself is perfect from Heaven, where you get married, down to the Footballers lounge for drinks and main room for the reception. I can't not mention Millie, the wedding co-ordinator, Andy, all of the reception staff and let's not forget the Chef who went off menu to cater for us.

We stay at hotel football on many occasions due to my daughter being a man Utd fan and she loves the small football pitch at roof level. The Rooms are faultless and have no complaints there. The location is fantastic if you are only interested in old Trafford but if your also interested in city centre it's a quite a drive of about 15 minutes depending on how busy traffic is. My only complaint is the breakfast... very disappointed tbh. Full English was Luke warm at best, bacon was hardly cooked and the sausage was full of gristle...it's not the end of the world but if I compare it to the premier Inn breakfast Which we had the day before it was no where near as good. We will still stay there no problem but we will decline the breakfast and Wal out to media city.

In theory nothing much wrong with the place, but for the price it leaves A LOT to be desired. Cramped small lifts and a nonfunctioning television. Great place if you love seeing Sky Sports News 24/7 though.

  • 1/5 GALAXSHOOTER 11 months ago on Google
The location of the place is good, but other than that, it was disastrous. My room had a bad smell and was smaller than I expected. The staff seemed overwhelmed and attended to you 20 years after you requested something. The food... it tasted like plastic. It couldn't be more mediocre. Next time, I'll just stay on the street, sleep better, and eat better.

Special mention to Layla who is an absolute credit to the hotel. Went above and beyond to help me make my daughter’s birthday even more special. Definitely deserves a pat on the back. Well done - thank you

Overprice but worthy for a full matchday’s experience. Location best. Room smaller than I thought. Usb plugs didn’t worked. Staffs friendly and nice. Really good breakfast. Room 892 is the best choice

Came here for a meal with my brother dave and it was lovely great food great service. My brother was staying in the hotel and was given a king room with a view of man united stadium wow it was amazing. The hotel is decorated with a man united football theme. and is to a very high standard would recommend to anyone

Fantastic hotel. From walking into reception to drinking at the bar the staff are attentive. The rooms are large with a great walk in shower. The fridge is stocked with classic treats all free and the bathroom stocked with shower gel, conditioner, shampoo and body cream. Great view over to the quays which is a 15 minute walk away with fabulous restaurants etc. It is a stones throw away from old trafford and not far from the cricket ground too. Right next to trafford centre. Drinks are reasonably priced and breakfast is great but food in the bar is expensive.

  • 4/5 Adrian R. 11 months ago on Google
If you love football and Manchester United you are going to love your stay just because of its theme. You've got the class of 92 everywhere. The only thing I'd say have your breakfast elsewhere - not the best. Burnt toast, the eggs not cooked the way I asked. But other than that it was a flawless stay.

  • 5/5 Ana Pilar R. 10 months ago on Google
Clean and great rooms. The best thing about the hotel, apart from being 1 minute away from the Old Trafford Stadium, is its 5-aside pitch at the top floor of the hotel, that every guest can use!

  • 4/5 Emma 10 months ago on Google
It’s a great spot. Hosted a fab event. The food didn’t quite live up to expectations, the salmon and cream cheese bagel barely had any salmon on it. Rooms are pleasant.

  • 5/5 Moushumi M. 10 months ago on Google
Perfect for football crazy fans and perfect location if you are doing a stadium tour or watching a game. The entire hotel is done in football decor, toiletries in football theme and our room has a perfect view of the stadium. Definitely must stay for football fans.

Excellent hotel! The service from the staff was outstanding throughout my stay. They could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The room was superb - very comfortable and with excellent facilities. Would highly recommend.

  • 5/5 Paul T. 10 months ago on Google
Absolutely outstanding. Perfect for all level of Manchester United fans. Staff are so attentive and friendly we felt like VIPs, food was superb, freshly cooked and quick. There is a football pitch on the roof for the kids (and big kids) to have a kickabout on. Would highly recommend to any family. We will be back.

  • 5/5 Lisa B. 10 months ago on Google
Just fabulous! Great prices for a quality, family friendly hotel. Our family were treated like VIPs. We thoroughly enjoyed playing football on the roof and waking up to a view of Old Trafford. The sweets went down very well with the kids. Can't wait to go back!

Me and my wife stayed for 2 nights recently for my 40th birthday. I have to say it was an outstanding hotel. The staff were really attentive and couldn't do enough for you. Rooms were spotlessly clean and well equipped and the complimentary sweets and treats that come as standard in every room were a nice touch too. Food, in particular breakfast, was outstanding. Genuinely can't wait to return.

Excellent experience will recommend. Was here for Manchester FA Grassroots Awards and staff were above and beyond. Bonus of having a disability space in the car park which was very much appreciated.

Came over with my son from US for first United game v. Forest, stayed for four nights and had incredible stay. Chris, the manager, was great and his staff, including David at the front desk were first class. Cafe Football, OTSC, and room were all terrific. We will recommend HF to anyone who wants immerse themselves in football and be surrounded by good people who love the Reds- we will be back!

  • 3/5 Will L. 8 months ago on Google
We stayed here whilst working in the area. The girls on reception were very friendly and helpful letting us know where to watch the footy. Staying on the 8th floor, the rooms were a good size, very clean and had good views of the quays. However, we woke up to no running water when getting ready for work. This was flagged at reception and we were told it’s a common fault. When we came down for breakfast, it took around 45 minutes for our order to be taken due to a large kids football team also staying in the hotel. FOH staff were apologetic for the wait, but management should be staffing the hotel properly. Bacon turned up anaemic and poached eggs were hard boiled which didn’t help.

Sheer perfection all of the way around. We are currently staying here and the experience, thus far, has been amazing. When we checked in, yesterday, the woman assisting us was very pleasant. She let us know about the dining specials and placed us in a room with an amazing view of the stadium. Our room was clean and well-stocked with all kinds of “free” treats. Room service is great and the food delicious. We ate in breakfast in the restaurant, this morning, and everything was delightful. Because we did not indicate that we wanted our room clean, they gave us a courtesy call to see if we needed anything. I mean it when I say everything has been delightful thus far. It is only a few steps away from the Manchester United stadium. See attached photo to view from our room. Highly recommend.

My new favourite hotel. Clean, comfortable, great service (especially front desk and breakfast). Convenient parking (£10/night). Right opposite The Theatre of Dreams / Manchester United. I stayed two nights in September 2023, and really enjoyed my stay. Love the bathroom products presented as football shirts. Highly recommended.

  • 3/5 Philip M. 8 months ago on Google
Good clean & modern room. We had dinner & breakfast at the hotel. Breakfast was acceptable, but dinner was average at best, which was a shame, especially given the high price. Would stay again but skip dinner & book a proper restaurant instead.

The rooms are so dark when you close the curtains let’s no light in great night sleep. The beds are so comfy and the pillows are just right. The breakfast ingenious idea cook when you order so no waste, I did not eat breakfast but my husband did he said it was delicious 5 stars all the way. The football pitch on the top floor is amazing as the views thank you Hotel Football x

Amazing room, lovely staff - I asked for a stadium view room too late (as booked through another company) however the staff managed to get us into the stadium view which was just incredible and so kind. Our food on our first night was absolutely lovely! We were served by Elissa, who was so friendly, kind and really bubbly! She was great and made sure we had everything we needed. This stay was for my partner who is football mad and after an incredibly tough year for him, these extra things really made the holiday just that much better and he and myself are having an amazing time! We will be back - no doubts!! Thanks so much to all the staff especially the lady at reception and Elissa. :) x

Booked as a treat for my 9 year old and to be fair he enjoyed it but it's like a travel lodge with a 5 star view. I had a few issues firstly I was offered an upgrade to a better room for £10 which I took and got a confirmation that my upgrade was approved. I was then emailed the day before to say they couldn't fulfil the upgrade. The lady that checked us in was lovely and friendly and no issues but there was a party that was noisy on the top floor and when it ended the guests leaving were even worse. Then in the morning I had an issue with breakfast, my email confirmation clearly stated breakfast was included but I was told by a rude receptionist that it wasn't and I'd have to pay. When I showed her the email she queried why it said I had got the match day rate as it wasn't match day which obviously I have no idea as the email was sent by them?? Anyway had a nice breakfast at the nearby wetherspoons. On checking out the receptionist couldn't be more disinterested, I spoke to her 3 times in the space of 5 minutes (as I stupidly left my car keys in the room) and yet she couldn't remember having spoken to me. Not great customer service! On a positive the views are great the beds are comfy and the free mini bar is a nice touch.

I was so impressed with the hotel and, the location was ideal for my grandson's first visit to Old Trafford for the FA youth Cup final but... the genuinely friendly staff, the help, assistance and customer service was above and beyond anything you would normally expect. My grandson now wants to go to Manchester to see his favourite team and player (David De Gea) and I told him it would be difficult to get tickets and a room at Hotel Football for a match and he said "but Grandad, that was the best day ever'"! I have some mobility issues and all the team at Hotel Football made sure that my stay would be issued free!

  • 5/5 Michael D. 2 years ago on Google
What a great hotel for any football fans. Right beside Old Trafford the rooms was fantastic and the location if visiting Old Trafford is just ideal. Only downside you are way out of the city centre however bus stop nearby or the tram. Ideal place to stay for any footie fans and you must see the rooftop football pitch.

LGBT+ Review Living up to the hype of one of Marriots most hyped brands . This hotel was a fantastic experience from arrival to departure. Reception offered a complementary mini bar and the room was fantasticly big especially for a non match day price it was unbelievable. The bar was well priced , not cheap but acceptable . The vibe in the bar was great . Honestly can't rate the bar and reception staff better . A fantastic start to my holiday .

There are a host of 4-star hotels around GM, and this one could be a bit pricier but worthier. Stayed here a couple of times, rooms were clean and cosy. I was really satisfied even though I'm never a football fan. Good value for money indeed.

What a well kept, clean, tidy, nice little hotel with friendly staff and (paid) parking 2 minutes away. Highly recommended. We stayed here for 3 nights and our rooms remained well kept, tidy and the room service was good.

Stayed at HF for work and as usual reception staff are so helpful and fantastic Katrina and Alex were even able to help me print a couple pages I needed for my business meeting. Rooms well presented and catered with local treats (Vimto and Club chocolates) and breakfast was great also.

The best hotel stay ever! Booked a King Stadium view room for my boyfriends birthday and The Football Hotel went above and beyond to make the stay incredible. Friendly staff and they even upgraded our room to The Class Of 92 room which was amazing! Just an incredible weekend and we will definitely be back!

My recent experience at the hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment we checked in, it was clear that this so-called luxury hotel fell far short of its reputation. Upon entering our room, we were greeted by an overwhelming stench that could only be described as a mixture of dampness and mildew. It felt like sleeping on a slab of concrete. To make matters worse, the cleanliness of the room was appalling. The sheets were not only visibly stained but also had a distinct odor of unwashed laundry. Disgusted, we immediately called reception to request fresh linens. However, the staff's response was far from satisfactory. They arrived at our room with a dismissive attitude, making us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests.

Stayed here a few times for work. Rooms are decent, great showers. Service is fair to good. Dining is 3 star. If you're going to Manchester for the football, there is no better location.

  • 3/5 MitchMan 1 year ago on Google
Both nights so far there has been an extremely loud party at the hotel keeping everyone awake. We are a big group, staying on multiple floors (floor 8, 5 & 3) all of us can hear the bass thumping at 00:50. Here for work so not ideal if you are up early. Bed is comfy so bring earplugs and I guess it's a 5 star!

Played five a side here with work. Excellent venue for a game. Fantastic views of Old Trafford. It’s easy to find and parking is also easily accessible. Friendly staff. Fantastic place for a kick about.

We visit the OTSC (Old Trafford Supporters Club) in the basement of Hotel Football every United home game. The security people at the entrance are very welcoming and helpful to the visitors. The basement bar is always well attended even though there is a £1 charge. The security staff control admissions to ensure that not too many people are allowed into the bar. It's a very friendly and enjoyable environment with a band leading the singing some of the time. It's very conveniently located within a 5 minute walk to the Theater of Dreams / Old Trafford Football ground.

The hotel rooms and bathrooms are awesome. The ladies at reception are lovely. You can walk outside right to Old Trafford. The cafe however is not great. We also had some coins go missing from our room and no one could give us any answers about it.

Amazing experience at Hotel Football We had a fantastic experience with Hotel Football and could not have been looked after in a better way by Melissa & team. We originally had to cancel our visit as my son had covid & the team bent over backwards to make sure that we were able to get to a game when my son had recovered. Over & above that Melissa ensured that my son had the best day ever both at the hotel & when we got to the stadium. The seats were fantastic & the staff were all very friendly and helpful even though match days are very busy. Would highly recommend this hotel and we hope to be back again soon

Couldn’t fault it, booked this for my partners birthday for a football themed bank holiday weekend, the rooms were lovely, spacious and of course very clean and maintained and the few staff we met seemed lovely. Nice easy check in when we arrived and we went for dinner in cafe football, the service was very quick and the food came out very hot and tasty so again can’t fault it. I booked a standard double room but asked if it was possible to be overlooking the stadium as we’re celebrating a birthday… the view was amazing from our room so thankyou for that! Would definitely recommend! :)

  • 2/5 Shivam G. 1 year ago on Google
Most unwelcoming experience. We arrived here after 15 hours of flight and the lady at the front desk had such a cold attitude. She was like why were we even there. We had 6 bags and she didn’t even have enough courtesy to smile, extend the support or call someone for the help. When I asked if there was someone who could help with our luggage, she suggested to pull cart from the other side of the hotel and move all my stuff myself up to the 6th floor. I did not expect this as Marriott Bonvoy elite member, I mean no guest should have this experience irrespective of their membership. Probably, the lady was having a bad day. Other than the poor service, room was clean, next to stadium (small though), and food was good.

I can not praise this place enough. We had a group of SEND families with us for the soccer aid match. It all got too much for one of our Y.P. despite his ear defenders 😪. The staff took him and the family inside, gave them a room to wait in, provided refreshments and as a result that family made it into the stadium ♥️. We didn't get the staff members name, but they are an absolute credit to your team. Amazing work guys 😊. Massive thanks from Manchester Parent Champions 🏆 and The SPACE Group Manchester.

Ideal stay if watching a Manchester united home game, which I did. The bar and restaurant area very busy and not much room for the amount of people that can be at the hotal stay on match days. Rooms are lovely, great showers ( a good size).
