The Old Sava Bridge was built by the German Army during the Second World War. It is the only bridge in Belgrade and one of the very few major European bridges that actually survived the war. The detonations placed by the retreating Germans were cut by local hero Miladin Zaric. This history gives the Old Sava Bridge a special place in the memory of the Belgradians. The current bridge provides narrow passage for cars and trams, with a pedestrian lane on one side. It has been extensively renovated only a few years ago, but is definitely not fit for the anticipated significant growth of traffic, both mechanical and pedestrian. We have been inspired by the wish of the Belgrade planners to retain and rejuvenate this venerable structure and make it a national model for sustainable urban infrastructure. Our design challenge is to retain the historical essence of the old bridge, whilst upgrading it to the demands of the twenty-first century.

Nice to walk under the bridge, specially in the evening when lights go on.

Also known as "Stari Savski Most," is a historic landmark in Belgrade, Serbia. Built in the mid-20th century, this bridge served as a crucial transportation link over the Sava River for decades. Today, the Old Sava Bridge serves as a pedestrian and recreational space, allowing locals and tourists to appreciate both its historical significance and the picturesque views it offers of the surrounding city.

A wonderful ambience on the river, with a concert and New Year's Eve 2023. Fireworks and pleasant temperature will complete the feeling.

The best walk to relax is by the river. Great place for fishing and biking. Several cafes suitable for a short break and hanging out with friends.

The Old Sava Bridge (Serbian: Стари савски мост) is a 430-metre-long (1,410 ft)and 40-metre-wide (130 ft) bridge, crossing the river Sava in Belgrade, Serbia. It is the smallest road bridge in the Serbian capital and is used both for car and tram traffic. The main span between the two pillars of this tied arch bridge is over 157 m (515 ft)in length. Two bus lines and three tram lines of Belgrade public transport use the bridge.

Great view towards the rest bridges, and the atmosphere of the lights is also fascinating. The only negative is the fact that when the tram passes it temples more than the expected.
