Interesting place to see! Remember my words...you gonna pass from this place 10+ times while you will be in Belgrade. Many shops, cafes, restaurants and some souvenir shops! I was feeling like in Vienna on this street.

It's a pedestrian street, my favourite one. There are a lot of old buildings along it of beautiful architecture, some from the last century. There are some new modern buildings of course. And s lot if boutiques, shops with a fountain in the middle. Knez Mihailova street leads to the famous Kalemegdan park and fortress with a fascinating view to the estuary of the rivers Sava and Danube.

It is a pedestrian zone and shopping center - protected by law as one of the oldest and most valuable monumental complexes of the city, with a large number of representative buildings and urban houses built at the end of 1870s. It is thought that in as early as the Roman times there was the center of the Singidunum settlement. In this area, at the time of Turks, there were winding streets with gardens, drinking-fountains and mosques. In the middle XIX century, in the upper part of the street was the garden of Knez Aleksandar Karađorđević. After the making of the regulation plan of Belgrade in 1867, by Emilijan Josimović, the street has soon been built and gained its physionomy and content. The houses have been built there and the most influential and wealthiest families of the commercial and political society of Belgrade have come to live there. In 1870, the city authorities officially gave a name to this street - Ulica Kneza Mihaila.

New Year's lighting is still standing. Some included, some not. There is no more soul, there is more and more risk to walk with the family, especially in the evening .. there are no police anywhere..so there are pickpockets everywhere..a group of suspects who are shouting..and less and less of the old spirit of Belgrade. In large and capital cities, it should be assumed that law enforcement agencies are present, as in all world and European capitals.

Its place where you can walk, see a lot of people arond, some of them playing violine, guitar, some singing and others just walk. Theres a lot of stores, and also shopping center Rajiceva. Near Knez Mihailova is Kalemegdan where u can go too.

The main walking street in the center of Belgrade. It goes from Kalemegdan fortress and park to the Republic Square. This street is one of the best places to feel the pulse of the city and you will enjoy walking through it daily. It is about 700m, it was my main meeting point “at city library” and it is full of shops, shopping centers,Souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants… 800m long Mark these places Kafeteria Magazin Starbucks Rajićeva Shopping Center H&M LC Wakiki

Knez Mihailova street always was very nice place for shopping and relaxing. Unfortunately, like in every big city on the world it's too expensive for average local people financial possibilities.
