Il faut 3h de route (où il est possible de voir de nombreux animaux) et quelques minutes de pirogue à moteur pour atteindre le campement. Notre chambre était vraiment super propre (pas d’insecte!) et équipée d’une moustiquaire. Nous y avons super super bien mangé! Il y a de l’électricité de 18/19h jusqu’à 21h mais pas d’eau chaude (ce qui n’est pas dérangeant vu la température ambiante). Notre guide Jimmy était top et il s’est beaucoup investi pour nous aider à voir les animaux. Nous avons beaucoup aimé ces 3 jours là-bas et les différentes activités proposées. Nous y étions fin mars qui est la fin de la saison des pluies, et donc la bonne saison pour voir les dauphins roses d’Amazonie mais moins pour les caïmans, anacondas et piranhas (mais nous avons vu beaucoup de petits caïmans surtout de nuit et nous avons réussi à pêcher un piranha).

Bala Tours provided us (two 30-year-old Americans) with a fantastic visit for our three-day Pampas tour. Aurelio is an excellent guide: knowledgeable, kind, flexible, and accommodating. We were eager to see early-morning birds, and Aurelio happily woke up at 5am with us to get into the boat and get going. Hilda, the Bala Tours cook, is phenomenal. You’ll appreciate her take on the local cuisine. The Bala Tours lodge itself is excellent, located at a proper distance downriver from the dock and in an area that feels isolated enough. The campsite is comfortable and enjoyable, nestled between the river and wetlands. You’ll be flipping your head back and forth the entire time to watch birds flying through. Now is an excellent time to visit Bolivia. We just came back from the 5 day tour (2 day madidi/3 days pampa) and had an amazing time. The lodges are clean (all beds have good mosquito nets) and really directly in the nature. You just hear the sounds of the animals/the nature during the night. Our guide Aurelio was amazing, he has the best eyes to spot animals and knows the best places for sunrise/sunset. He does everything to make your time unforgettable. His knowledge about the plants and animals is huge and you will learn a lot from him during your tour. The cook Hilda made the best food we had in all over south america. Every day we came back from the tour she waited with freshly pressed juice, which was so cute. All the team is doing a great job. I would definitely recommend staying there. The organisation was perfect, pick up, drop off, all on time and we were in good and safe hands all the time. They even provide rain ponchos. Aurelio and Hilda have about 25 years of experience in their job, they definitely know what they do. What we loved is that it is really ecological, no feeding and touching animals - like it should be. They treat nature and animals with respect. Big recommendation.
