😐 I did the 5-day/4-night tour. The first 2 days in the jungle were not at all up to par! Apart from spending the night inside the jungle, which we requested as per the possibilities given by the agency, we were not given any information about plants/animals/etc... our guide (Ron) seemed more listless... People often mention tour, guide, good, Selva, jungle, group, company, guides, pampas, Pampas,

We were a group of eight, 3d/2n in the Pampa We have been sleeping in Sunset Travels lodge. The surrounding are wonderful and full of animals (alligators, capibara, monkeys, birds, ...). The boat ride is longer that the Eco-Tour companies, but that also means you'll see more animals, and the first boat ride looks like a safari with a new thing to see at every corner - a real pleasure. On the lodge itself, the accomodation is basic but decent, and you can choose between dorms, private rooms (bathroom attached), or even camping with your own gear (price will vary). Our guide Rambo shared his knowledge of the Pampa and guided us to animal watching expeditions, always trying to give us a little extra of experience whenever there could be something interesting to see (which is not the case for all guides). The cook was also great and the food was always a buffet, enough for the 8 people we were. Vegetarian friendly although there won't be a lot of protein alternative to meat/fish. Take plenty of protection against the sun (a hat will probably make a difference), and beware that walking 4h in a flat Pampa can still be exhausting with the heat. We didn't see anaconda or big cats but we saw plenty of pink dolphins, it depends on the period and your luck. On the negative side, the last day, there were no more water in private rooms. Fortunately they have common showers that still worked well. They also started to be short on drinking water when we left (it was very hot so we drank a lot), so bring your own purification system if you want to be on the safe side. Very good experience overall, with low price for what we get (half the price of the "Eco" tours that are admittedly not fully Eco - yet - and are getting less deep in the Pampa). Probably one of the best value your can find if it is was you're looking for.

Tour guides are amazing, lots of knowledge on the jungle and pampas and really made our visit memorable given they had not been made aware we would be arriving by the head office. The planning and communication was terrible given the price is well above the average which we hope is passed on to the exceptional staff they have working on the ground (some of which have little time off to return home to visit their families due to high demand and staffing shortages). On tour both myself and my partner picked up salmonella due to hygiene issues on the campo along with three others in our group. Not the end of the world but when I unfortunately caught dengue in the pampas days later this gave me a truly unique experience of this beautiful part of the world. The dengue was obviously just a spot of bad luck but the poor organisation, food poisoning and conditions the wonderful staff have to work under at times is the reason for the 1 star review. Hope this changes in the future.

I did the 5-day/4-night tour. The first 2 days in the jungle were not at all up to par! Apart from spending the night inside the jungle, which we requested as per the possibilities given by the agency, we were not given any information about plants/animals/etc... our guide (Ron) seemed more listless than anything else. In contrast, the tour in the Pampas was fantastic, the three days spent with Diego were perfect. He explained everything to us, accommodated every question and request from us. Diego loves his job and positively conveys this to the whole group

Everything was perfect. We booked the 5d Selva/Pampas combined tour and we couldn‘t be more happy with our choice of the agency. Our guide Jimmy went above and beyond to get the best out of our tour. He is knowledgeable, kind and patient with us as clients and he always was open for any kind of questions. Apart from that, the food throughout the tour was amazing and everyone took good care of us. This is definitely the best price to value we got so far during our travels in south america.

If you want to see animals and come close to them, this is a good tour for you. The guides are knowledgable, very friendly and the food is great. Unfortunately, for us the program of swimming with dolphins, fishing piranhas or searching for anacondas felt slightly sensationalist and like we were intruding in the animals territory. We can't compare this tour with other Pampas tours, but in general we would have loved to learn more about how the Amazon is being preserved or understand better how locals use medicinal plants for example. More of how to preserve nature, rather than using nature as a source of entertainment.

I have to separate my review into a 2 parts. 1. Review to the guides and stuff in Selva: everything was amazing! The guide (Ron) is very friendly, careful, he knows a lot about Selva, cause he has an indians origin. He is open to share his knowledges with a tourists. And other guys in Selva where very friendly and careful, thank you! Gracias por todo, Ron, Angel, Jose! Voy a recordar mi tiempo en Selva! Ustedes estan como una familia! But I have to said that guides does not speak english, only spanish. Despite the fact that Alex told me, that they speak english for 50 percents. That's always better to be honest and say as it is, because I have chosen your company because of this "50% english", that I was expected. He we go to the second part about Alex's management. 2. Review to Alex as a manager: sorry, but it was all badly organized. Alex was not paying a lot of attention to me after I paid my money. When I arrived to their office before departure to Selva - I was staying here at least for an half of an hour, Alex was here, but he didn't talk to me, and he didn't say me that my backpack is too small for Selva. He didn't said me that I have to put here bed's sheets and food, I discovered it only in Selva, and that was a problem. After this it was another problem with organization: Alex didn't find another tourist for my group, so I was alone, and because of this he wanted to take me from Selva to the city one night before that it was supposed to be. I had paid for 3 nights in Selva, but he was trying to take me back to the city after second night, because he didn't wanted to send another boat to Selva just for me. I disagreed to came back early. If I did as he wanted and came back early - I would miss a Pachamama ceremony, Tarantul's view and handmade's tutorial. When I came back from Selva - Alex didn't ask me anything, did I like the tour, or not. I know that you have a lot of tourists, but it's your job. If you cannot pay attention to everybody, you cannot work in tourism. Then they send me to the Pampas with another company with another group, actually it was a very good deсision, thanks for this. But when I came back from the Pampas - the office was closed, they was not expecting me. All my stuff was in their office. To conclude: I enjoyed my trip in Selva an Pampas because of the goof guides and stuff, but the management of this company could be much more better.

The tour was nice and the food excellent. It was just unfair, that in the group other people had different prices. The chef of the company is not so nice, because he told us, that is not his fault, but the fault of the person who sold us the tour. They are super unorganized because they don t talk to each other. The price range for 3 days pampa was 850 to 1200 bolivianos, without the park entrance.

Amazing 6 day experience in the jungle and the pampa with escorpion. The guides Ronald and Miguel were simply amazing, always looking after our well being ans very knowledgeable of the jungle. It was awesome to get to know the different plants of the jungle and how the local use everything the nature has to offer in order to survive.

The tour in the jungle was really good our guide was nice and spoke English to us. We did heaps of fun activities. The pampas tour we did was only 2 days but we did the exact same thing both days, which was super disappointing. It felt very rushed and disorganized. They also tried to make us pay for the taxi to the airport after we discussed that the tour included that fare.

One Very Negative Experience - we signed up for the Survivor Tour, which they glorified through pictures in their sales pitch, but issued no warnings of any sort. We got sick during the first day's lunch (4 out of 5 tourists did!) but it didn't hit us until the next morning. Overnight we slept without blankets and were freezing and shivering, which probably combined with the lunch, made everything worse. The next morning we woke up with nausea, throwing up and diarrhea, and were forced to leave the tour a day early. Back in Rurrenabaque, we argued to get some money back, detailing our experience to them. Instead of being open to our feedback, they accused us of wanting to get out of the tour early and making up lies to do so. They further made lies about how we claimed we were already sick before lunch, and needed medicine from them. Tempers flared on both sides. We ended up getting some money back, but overall are very disappointed in how they handled their situation with us. This is not how to conduct a business and - though it's a bit personal - tourists should take their money elsewhere, this company doesn't deserve their money. We hope this doesn't happen to anyone in the future, and are issuing this review as a warning - if things go smoothly, I'm sure you'll have a great experience. If not, don't expect any sympathy from the company.

The Pampa and Jungle tours are very beautiful and really worth doing, but be careful with what this agency offers you compared to what you get. They showed me a very nice PPT presentation and claimed they had their own ¿ECO? lodge with private rooms or maximum, 3 bed dorms. Surprisingly, we were located to Sunset Travel lodge (another companies') and were sent to a 6 bed dorm. No complains about the tour itself, and special mention to Juan, the guide that was really good. Just be careful, they will try to sell you a Ferrari but you will get a FIAT. Make sure you pay the right price which is around 700BOB for a 3 day 2 nights in Pampa, if they ask more, they are ripping you off!! Be careful!

We did the Pampas & Jungle tour. Both very well organised, great communication from Alex. We were fed like kings on both tours which was a really nice touch.

We really enjoyed our tour to the Amazon and Pampas with Escorpion travel. Great value for money and the food was fab. Alex even helped us book our bus back to La Paz after our tour.

Bad communication At first we had a good impression of the agency, everything uncomplicated and friendly people. We chose escorpion over another company because they promised us an english speaking guide. After the first day we recognised that our guide Jimmy doesn't speak a word of English. So we struggled with our little Spanish skills. I have to mention that although Jimmy, who is nice and really knows the jungle (which for itself is an impressive experience), often simply didn't communicate with us (also didn't try in Spanish), what leaded p.e. to the case that giant ants damaged my backpack badly, while the guide hanged his backpack on a tree. He just didn't tell us. Also the agency didn't tell us about the fact that we'll have to carry a lot of things when we arrived in the base camp - one girl just brought a small backpack and had to hang a sleeping bag, a matrace and a bag with food onto it, what made it very uncomfortable. We also met another group who told us the exact same things. So communication is not good. When I discussed the case with the agency, they gave me 100 of 800 bolivianos back, which didn't help a lot. To sum it up: the jungle is great, but exhausting (mosquitos,...), if you are a good Spanish speaker and you like to get active and handle things by yourself, escorpion is a good company. Just didn't do it for me.

Everything was great. We did the pampas as well as the jungle with Escorpion travels. They were very flexible with us and did everything so we would have a good time. I got dehydrated on the last day (my fault) and our wonderful guide Miguel made me an excellent medicinal tea.

We award this tour company with three stars. We were happy with the tour itself, but the communication was bad. We weren’t told what to take and what not to take into the jungle, and didn’t know what we could expect from the tour. It ended up being a really harsh survival tour, which we liked, but they should have explained more. For example, what it takes to build your own boat, which they promised we would do. Our guide in the jungle told us that it would require many many hours of cutting trees, which we aren’t capable of. They could have told us that in the office as well. Another weird thing, is that we told the office that everyone eats vegetarian. Instead, we got fish and meat every meal. These are just examples, but we would have wanted to get more information overall, and so would the guides, who seem to be used to getting groups who have no clue of what they’re going to do. The jungle itself is beautiful, mystique and feels untouched, and the pampas are a nice place with lots of animals and crocodiles as well.

If you are looking for an adventure this is the place to go! I did a 6 day tour with 3 nights in Mardidi and 2 nights in pampas. I was in a group of 6 people and paid 1900 bob for the tour itself, 200 bob for one national park and 150 for the other. The prise is absolutely reasonable. However there are 3 things to consider: 1. out of my group 5 out of 6 people had mediocre problems with their stomachs. Since we had the necessary medication that was no problem. 2. on the way to and from pampas we took a boat. The water level in the river is so low that it is necessary to get into the water and push the boat. It is the same water where the crocodiles live. That was quite scary since they were right next to us. 3. Jose was the perfect guide! If you have the chance demand to be on his team. He was very friendly knowledgeable and considered the group needs.

Our pampas tour here was unbelievably good. So much so it was the highlight of our trip to South America. We had no complaints about the trip what so ever and think this tour company is the best you'll find!

We absolutely loved this tour! Everything was perfect. We booked the 4 day selva/pampas tour. We were super happy with Mylie, she arranged our plane tickets to Rurrenabaque en our bus ride back and everything else we needed. She was super sweet and very easy to communicate with. She let us know which clothes would be best suited for the jungle, we also got rainboots and a cotton long sleeved shirt from the company. I loved the fact that she puts thought in which guide to pair you with as to get the best match during your 4 days together. We could not be more happy with our guide Jimy! He did absolutely everything he could to make this the best tour for us. I am also still so impressed by his knowledge of the Amazon. It was truly remarkable and we loved learning from him. You do need to speek Spanish as very little guides (in all of Bolivia) speak English. The lodging was very basic but we got everything we needed. I mean, how much do you truly need in the jungle!? The food was also amazing and everyone took really good care of us. I also think the price to value was very good with this company! Would definitely use them again for a tour to the Amazon would I ever return.

We had a blast on our tour to Pampas 3D/2N. It was the perfect slot of time to stay there, let would have been rushed, anyway we are slow travelers who like to suck in the place. We negotiated the tour with a private bedroom with toilet for two for BOB750, including everything. Other travelers staying in dorm paid BOB700. A part from that the entrance to the reserve was BOB150. Our group of four was joined to a group of two from Sunset travels - they work together. We stayed in a basic but beautiful lodge overlooking the river. The cook stayed everyday with us and made the best buffets we could have. Always plenty of food and vegetarian friendly.

Selva: madidi Hondo erasamo river trip: Very good tour with indigenous guide Erlan aka Mowgli. Beautiful forest! Charming ecolodge and the food was excellently prepared. Only improvement would have been issuing us tickets for madidi national park.

We did a 4d Selva&Pampas tour. I don't recommend this company. The organisation in the office in Rurrenabaque left a really chaotic impression. Staff there were ignorant, not welcoming us or giving information. We visited the office 4 times, the day before the tour, when leaving for the tour, once in the middle and once at the end and every time the same experience. Arriving in the selva the lodge wasn't aware the group coming would be so big and the guides had to improvise. Our group who would normally have an own guide had to join other groups for activities so we were many people sometimes, which is not ideal. We had good fun on the tour with the guides, they showed us the animals and plants and it was very interactive, you could taste a lot of fruits and they answered all questions. Also they made sure the day was quite full, with activities early morning to night. We liked the food in the pampas but in the Selva there wasn't enough food. Also never snacks/deserts. This wasn't the cheapest tour we found in Rurre but because of the good reviews we chose it, but wouldn't do it again.
