This desert could indeed have been copied from one of the surreal landscapes of Dali. Put a limp watch over one of the rocks and you have a real Dali in 3D. Nice for a short photo stop, especially because of the surroundings.

Just a quick stop in our 3-days tour to Uyuni salt flats, it was really amazing to see such vastness, there were nice colours, given that there were sunny day and very few clouds. The guide explained the history of the desert, which was quite interesting.

The landscapers is really uncommon, it doesn’t come really nice in pictures but is something nice to see, driving around you can see animals, specially foxes which are looking for food!

This is a very isolated place that belongs to the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve. The area is located at around 4,200 m altitude. Also known as Dali Valley, the area is a landscape with desert and rocky formations that the famous Dali had painted in one of his paintings, without ever visiting this place. The resemblance between the surrealistic painting and the real sight is striking.

The landscape is bleak, but you can see animals if you're lucky :)

In the south east of Bolivia, not far from Chilean, is the Salvador Dali desert. One of the driest places on earth. If you like wild and difficult to reach places, this one is fantastic. Most people come by an organised tour from Uyuni but the (in my view) the better way is to do it yourself. To do that you will need a four wheel drive and a good navigation system but well worth the effort!
