It's
a
lovely
hotel
with
excellent
facilities
in
a
great
location,
but
don't
even
think
of
coming
here
if
you
have
allergies.
My
sister
has
had
a
nut
allergy
all
her
life.
It's
quite
simple
-
if
the
food
contains
nuts
or
has
been
cooked
in
nut
oil,
then
this
is
bad.
If
the
item
has
"been
prepared
in
a
factory
that
uses
nuts",
then
this
is
not
a
problem
for
her.
However,
the
restaurant
is
apparently
completely
unable
to
distinguish
between
these
two
scenarios
and
so
slaps
a
nut
warning
on
pretty
much
everything
-
even
the
vanilla
ice
cream
apparently"may
contain
nuts"!
As
a
result
of
this,
on
learning
of
an
allergy,
not
only
do
they
make
you
sign
a
disclaimer
before
they'll
let
you
eat
certain
things,
our
waiter
was
actually
hovering
beside
our
table
ready
to
snatch
the
food
away
if
my
sister
didn't
sign!
As
she
said
-
""I'm
61
years
old,
have
had
a
nut
allergy
all
my
life
and
have
never
been
asked
to
sign
a
waiver".
As
some
of
their
food
is
bought-in,
it
seems
they
have
no
clue
as
to
what
the
actual
ingredients
are.
In
comparison
to
this,
a
local
restaurant
we
visited
one
night
was
able
to
produce
a
printed
booklet
containing
information
on
every
possible
allergen
for
every
item
on
their
menu.
To
top
all
this,
when
we
challenged
the
manager
about
this,
his
response
was
to
say
that
the
waiver
was
necessary
"so
that
we
don;t
get
sued".
Not
"so
that
you
don't
die
of
a
nut
allergy",
but
"so
we
don;t
get
sued".
He
also
attempted
to
smugly
quote
Natasha's
Law
at
us
whilst
unfortunately
revealing
that
he
didn't
actually
know
what
it
meant.
Absolutely
unbelievable.
I
can
only
assume
they've
had
an
allergy
incident
in
the
past
and
are
being
ridiculously
over-cautious.
Suffice
it
to
say
that,
whilst
we
would
use
the
hotel
again
as
it
is
a
very
nice
hotel
with
good
facilities
in
an
excellent
location,
we
will
not
be
eating
in
the
Cast
Iron
Grill.
