Great pool. Staff are friendly, plus there are always loads of lifeguards on hand which is reassuring. Pool, changing rooms, etc are always clean. Swimming lessons are great and the prices are surprisingly reasonable.

Went here with my daughter to watch grandchildren while they were in the pool. I had never been here before but I was impressed with the spectator area as it was all individual seats and they were very comfy. The toilet facilities were really clean, and all the other areas of the swimming centre were too.. The lifeguards on duty were very vigilant, and all the staff were friendly and professional. I highly recommend a visit to Dunston leisure centre.

Hopeless ... a place probably only for schools and other organized groups because an ordinary person when he would not like to swim or use the sauna is always closed because there are lessons and other activities .....Completely useless place

Go there each week for swimming lessons. There are 2 pools,2 gyms a sauna and a whole host of other activities

Good facilities, my daughter is learning to swim here and the swimming teachers are very good also.

No cafe, water £2 a bottle in the vending machine, tea/coffee machine card only & not accepting cards! I had paid ten pounds to watch a gala plus it was £6.50 per race the swimmers entered but for spectators it was nine hours without proper refreshments.

Save our leisure centre ! Took out a membership with Gateshead leisure due to the facilities at Dunston; lovely deep pool, separate kids pool, sauna & steam room, we also appreciate the well equipped gym,( with a fab view) the friendly staff and the clean modern changing area. It would now appear that this lovely modern facility is at risk, due to the short sightedness and incompetence of Gateshead council.

Fantastic facilities and great value for money. Staff are always friendly and helpful and the place is always immaculately clean. Pools, gym and sauna are excellent. Sadly it appears the local Council are intent on closing it down next year to save money which would be a tragedy for the local community it has served for almost 60 years. I would urge people who love this place to complete the consultation document asap and contact your local councillors to fight this proposal.

Amazing place, have visited every part of the building except the gym but hope to go there soon. The kids’ pool is warm but not too hot, perfect for the little ones. The changing rooms are spectacular, clean most of the time and the perfect size. The main pool is always extremely clean and a good depth, easily standable at the shallow end and a good challenge to touch the bottom at the deep end. The lanes are long, and the flags across the lanes make it easy to see how far along you are, especially when doing backstroke, in which it is difficult to see ahead. The staff are always pleasant and there is plenty of them. I have only 3 minor issues: 1) In the main pool, there are 3 clocks - none of them are in time with each other. 2) The showers are a little too hot, but easy to get used to. 3) I have once been almost walked in on by a child while getting changed, as it seems you can unlock the changing rooms from the outside by swiping your finger across the vacancy indicator, but I am not sure many people would notice this. Once again, amazing location and perfect for going by yourself, with your family or with your peers.

Great staff &better place for keeping fit

Extremely clean, staff very friendly. Brought my baby here for her first swim, I like how the numbers are controlled so there is no over crowding in the pool.

Go swimming weekly here with my son, we use the small pool only. He loves it. Great facility for helping him build confidence in the water. Separated from the big pool which is good because it limits distractions. Staff are always friendly too.

It was great experience ,that I have for Dunson Leisure Centre, There are, sauna and steam, there are pools and gym. I would love to recommended this place 100%!
