Stargate Ponds and Bewes Hills

Tourist attraction Nature preserve

👍👍 Been a member for a few months now. Fished every week on Tilcon and the fishing is outstanding. All the regulars are friendly and helpful. This place is full of decent bream, carp, tench, roach, Rudd and perch. People often mention fishing,

As a local water it used to be a great carp and pike venue but it's now run down and very weedy pond hardly anyone fish's here it is ran by a membership club for fishing and does attract poachers. Not my cupa tea.

Nice little fishing lakes, not sure if only private for fishing or private property full stop. Was quite busy when we went but lake was chained off for a fishing competition.

Ideal place to walk/run your dog, many variations to take your hound. Some areas get close to the road yet it's all surrounded by a hedge or similar. There are a couple of ponds there with anglers, so be aware of this use. Once past these ponds the world is your oyster and your dog is free to roam. Don't forget to pick up the dog poo👍

It's a nice walk. The paths are easy to navigate and the longer range views of Lemington and Bell's Close are decent. The smell isn't very nice around there though, probably to do with the tip nearby. Wear a gas mask if needs be.

This is a coarse fishery run by the Ryton And District Angling Club. It's a members-only club, bit it's cheap enough to join. The fishery comprises two ponds (Stargate and Tilcon), both of which are well stocked with carp, roach, perch, bream, etc... (Stargate Pond also has a few Pike).
