Me and my girlfriend ate here for the first time last Friday. The food was absolutely delicious, by far the best vegan food I've tried so far! Large portion sizes so you get value for money and the staff are extremely polite and friendly. The only minor downside was the coleslaw which was very bland but other than that no complaints. We'll definitely be back again soon!

During the trip we had a lot of free time in Newcastle. By complete accident, we came across Vegano 100% vegan ... and it was like the first human flight to the moon. We have never eaten such well-made street food (and we have already eaten some of it). It is just perfect and delicious. Wor Dirty Doner makes you orgasm! Excellent people doing great things! We stopped here before the football without a booking and we were looked after by the friendly staff. The food didn't take too long and was all absolutely beautiful. I had the Nduja pizza which was one of the best tasting pizzas I've ever had (and I eat a LOT of pizza). The rest of my group had the doner kebab and the carbonara which were both exceptional too (also massive portions). We had the deep fried ravioli to share too which was great. Honestly, I couldn't recommend this place enough. If you're anywhere near Newcastle, do yourself a favour and turn up here with an empty stomach and let them take care of you. We will 100% be back again! Thank you

We were given a warm welcome on arrival. The restaurant is simply decorated, with good atmosphere and upbeat music. The staff are friendly and attentive. It's great to have an easy to navigate menu because as a vegan, I could choose anything from pasta, pizza, doners and burgers. It's not the healthiest menu, but probably a good place for meat eaters to try vegan substitutes and it's great for a treat. We tried some of their cocktails. The portion sizes are generous - check out the photos.

Wow! What a great little restaurant fantastic food that would be good enough to turn the world vegan! Friendly welcoming staff and a lovely atmosphere. My only improvement that I can suggest is that the toilet could do with a revamp. Will be back next time we are in toon! UPDATE 1 year on: Food still very nice, though the fried pizza starter is now one big one (see pics) rather than 3 small ones, prefer the old one. Hot chocolate was not nice at all and smoothie tasted more of ice than berries. Toilets still not improved. But food and service was absolutely excellent!

Ohhh yuuumm eee yum! Outstandingly good, tasty food. Superb service. Beth and Charlotte were brilliant. Beth who served me was warm, welcoming, kind, genial and genuine, one of those life souls who uplifts and is an all round superlative grade 1 good egg. What an asset to the restaurant this young lady is, bosses take note! Vegano has outdoor seating set up on the pavement to the front. Inside it is simply and tastefully decorated. It has a calm atmosphere. I had homemade baked camembert cooked with white wine, garlic and rosemary, served with garlic toast and cranberry and orange compote. It was none other than delicious. For main I had the Big Kahuna burger topped with peanut butter and grilled pineapple. I opted out of the jalapeños that it would have come with. The burger options are served with fries and homemade coleslaw, but I upgraded my fries to the oh so incredibly wonderful tatter tots. Oh mah gawd, how addictive are they, wotty wot??!! Crispy fried potato pieces and seasoned with Asian salt and pepper. I didn't have the sriracha mayonnaise on it though. Tatter tots are divine and utterly moreish. There are gluten free options on the menu and you can request your burgers to be GF if you wish. I challenge carnivores to not like this burger, it was great tasting. The mains came in a deep metal billy can style dish. All food tasty and very filling. I had a tropical smoothie. I also had a piece of Amalfi lemon cake to take home. Vegano's kitchen closes down food service just 15 minutes before closing time, for those who fall foul of other establishments who decide to shut down an hour or more beforehand. Tsk tsk. Viva Vegano's and long may Beth spread her light amongst the customers. Absolute easy 10 star and Beth can have 20, lol. No animals were harmed in the writing of this review, rahhh!

Everything is Vegan. No awkward waiting for waiters to check if the restaurant uses animal parts to cook vegetables - or cow's milk to make a coffee! You can go here for breakfast, dinner, dates, cocktails, etc. It is a cruelty-free café & restaurant. This isn't just a novelty for vegans. The food here is fantastic. The drinks are delicious. Be sure to book ahead - just in case - as it fills quite quickly. Our first visit was quiet whereas our second visit had people queuing out of the door! It really is worth it regardless. We came for a date and then again for our anniversary; both visits have been lovely and the choice of food & drink is excellent.

Some of the best food I’ve had! All dishes were amazing and the service was lovely. It was great having such a large menu and so many desserts that you don’t usually see veganized. Visited with a friend and we got cheesy garlic fries to start, carbonara, and a rigatoni dish from the specials, a chocolate milkshake, tiramisu, and biscoff cheesecake. Highly recommend all the dishes from the original menu.

I love coming here, it's now one of my favourite places to eat. The servers are always incredibly friendly and attentive, and the food is always incredibly tasty (I specifically recommend their pizzas and burgers!) The atmosphere is also always very relaxed which is something that I value when choosing somewhere to go. Would highly recommend to anyone, whether vegan or not :)

AMAZING vegan comfort food with Italian options which are usually so rare in vegan places. Creamy pasta, mac and cheese, proper burgers that aren't overwhelmingly massive. Lovely staff. Not much ambience and right by a busy road is the only negative.

I've been visiting Vegano since they opened and can say with clarity that the food here is excellent. We've tried almost everything on the menu and nothing disappoints. Amazing food with friendly and helpful staff. Can't ask for more!

On my second visit now! The food is nothing but amazing. A warm welcome from the minute you walk through the door. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!!! The Walnut and Lentil pate is simply to die for. Can't wait for the Mixed Kebab!!!!

Absolutely stunning vegan food. There’s something for everyone and the service is phenomenal. The authentic Neapolitan dishes like pizza fritta, the bruschetta and the pizza must be tried. And the tiramisu is the best I’ve ever had.

We’ve had a lot of well nice vegan food over the years, but this is place was the best! You know when you take a bite and a burst of joy hits you, even closed our eyes a few times with happiness. Really friendly, genuine service as well. Already can’t wait to come back to Newcastle for round 2 - highly recommend.

Friendly staff. All vegan food; well-presented but rather expensive I think. The "chikn" was tough and served in an enormous bun with curry sauce. Rather strange. I would go back again to try something different.

We called with not much notice and they were able to squeeze us in. We turned up to wonderful smiling servers, our server was so helpful and kind. The food was incredible, and came out quickly despite getting so busy shortly after we arrived. The fact it got so busy so quick is testament to how amazing this place is. Definitely come check them out, for sure make make reservations, we saw a few parties have to be turned away at the door due to no more space!

A brilliant small, vegan, fast food restaurant.

Incredible Christmas meal! We loved the Christmas dinner pizza, fresh flavours and a huge portion so we took some home. Tomato soup also lovely. Staff are very friendly and happy to help. Definitely recommend!

We had a starter to share, which was the artichokes, was so delicious. Mixed kebab is heaven, I could eat this every day. The chips that come with it are amazing too, the little coleslaw could be better but still eatable. Berry smoothie was amazing too. Generally a very nice place with very nice atmosphere, really like the big painting on the wall. Will return deffo.

The hours aren't the most convenient for trying to visit on holiday, without basing the holiday around it. That said, once we finally got to try Vegano, it was more than worth the wait. The food portion was quite big, and more than worth the money. The milkshake was delicious, and my partner's cheesy garlic bread pizza was even great cold.

A must visit for lovers of food. Outstanding variety of cosy, filling dishes with flavour. Even if you don't dine in, watch out for their food van at the Quayside market. The mixed kebab was to die for.

My friend and I dined in for lunch. The decoration is minimal, clean and simple, and feels so cosy. I love the cute drawing of the sheep on the wall. I tried one of their special pasta "Chikn Arrabiata with Rigatoni." It smells nice and tastes so yummy! They also have hot coffee and cold drinks like smoothies. So good for summer!

Oh my god this place is a godsend, if you're like me where you have to be selective with your food choices and avoiding dairy, gluten, alcohol, and meat.. having a satisfactory meal is always a challenge. You end up with basic meals just to avoid the stomach ache, until I stumbled on this place! Burgers, pizza, pasta, and even kabab are back on the menu.. all guilt-free."! I had such a good meal and the best part is a feel great afterwards. Very lovely staff, the place feel like a family joint. A Must have and a must try, enough writing, I'm going to kiss the chef now

The dining area is about medium sized, definitely think about making a reservation before coming and finding the place crowded. Dogs are welcome here, as long as they're on a leash. From what I can tell (I had only one dish, the Mixed Kebab) the food is unbelievably good! The vegetables are fresh, the meat substitutes tasty and have the perfect consistency and sauces add that extra flavor pop! If you like fries crispy on the outside but with some mass to them, you're also at the right place here! The interior design is clean, spacious, warm and cozy, although a little dim. Could use seating cushions, I think. What it's lacking in lighting, it makes up for in music. Unintrusive good mood evergreens played at just the right volume. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, towards locals and tourists (me) alike. Noteworthy: a glass of tap water comes with a slice of lemon! Cool move, Vegano! ;) I will definitely come here again and I recommend everyone, vegan or not, to do the same!

This is one of the best vegan restaurants me and my partner have been to, not just in Newcastle but the entire UK. We highly recommend their deep fried ravioli and truffle pizza. The cocktails and desserts are amazing too. Great staff, super friendly and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you!

First time visiting and will definitely be back next time we are in Newcastle. Unfortunately we didn't have much time so would love to try more of the menu.

Absolutely amazing food. By far the best vegan place around Newcastle/Gateshead. Make me feel like family everytime I visit. Without a doubt my favourite place to eat at any opportunity. Always make an effort to find out about how we're all doing and what's been on our agenda. I've made my way through the menu and still unable to pick a favourite. However the Carbonara is slowly taking over with the garlic flatbread combined. Couldn't recommended this restaurant enough. Never been dissapointed from these guys and having the option to see them at the Newcastle Quayside on a Sunday for some grub is the icing on the cake. This place should always be your top place to eat in Newcastle. Nothing compares.

Delicious street style food with a warm welcome. We had the chilli dog with garlic fries and the dirty diner with fries and a side of Mac n cheese. The whole meal was amazing. The only thing that let them down is I didn't get my 10% off as it was a collection, but can't knock a star off as the food was so good

I've passed by this little hideaway on occasion and I always see diners tucking in to dishes of delicious nosh 🍽️ It's away from the city centre in a quiet location just up from Centre for Life, at the rear of Dance City, on St. James Boulevard. Very bijoux and cosy. Dive in! 😋

Best vegan food I’ve ever had! At here for breakfast and dinner and everything we had was stellar. My husband is an omnivore and he loved it too. Highly recommend. The Doner Kebab and pancakes were particularly good.
