What a discovery. In the heart of the quaint Colonial District, surrounded by „Tourist traps“ we found this Bijou of a restaurant in nicely restored old building with a beautiful covered patio with lots of space inside an big refreshing ventilator. The restaurant seems to be popular with the locals. The food is exquisite , a great fusion of traditional cooking with new influences. We loved the place, one of the best we ever visited.

High quality food and beautiful decoration. The place was very fresh even on a very hot day. Service was quick and attentive. The music wasn’t of our liking but wasn’t intrusive either. The prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. Flavors were original and unique. I discovered this place with my boyfriend and we liked it so much that I brought my parents a month after.

During my recent vacation in the Dominican Republic, I had the pleasure of dining at Buche Perico and it was truly a spectacular experience. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the restaurant's naturalistic aesthetic. The plants gracefully hanging from the ceiling, aquatic creatures swimming in small ponds, and the artful lighting illuminating the entrance and walkway all contributed to a marvelous ambience. The menu was diverse, offering an array of enticing entree options to choose from. When our meals arrived, we were not disappointed. Everything was served warm and fresh, and the wait time was minimal, allowing us to savor every bite without any unnecessary delays. Overall, I can't recommend Buche Perico enough. The attention to detail and exceptional service made for an unforgettable dining experience. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Santo Domingo so I can visit again.

Great place for lunch or dinner! Cocktails are very very good, coco ceviche was too salty to my taste, we enjoyed a lot tuna risotto for main. For desserts we tried cassava and cocoa cakes - both very well done and beautifully served. Coffee is the best we found in Santo Domingo.

The restaurant decor is well done however the food isn’t amazing, portions are small, drinks are fine and the service is slow. Also, they took silverware that we didn’t use from our table and put it back in a tray of unused silverware for other guests - that’s not the level of precaution you want an establishment to take during a pandemic.

Excellent menu, quick service, great ambience in the indoor/outdoor patio with a huge fan in the ceiling and a cute indoor waterfall with fish. The food was excellent. We ordered a ceviche, a shrimp pasta and a mango chicken and all of it was delicious. The staff were very attentive and kind with our daughter and brought out extra separate cashews for her when she finished them all from the dish. We also got the food within 10 minutes from ordering after we said we were in a bit of a rush so all of it was really five stars and excellent!

Been there twice. Impressive interior design, garden is fabulous, lighting is a work of art. Nice cocktails. Menu is confusing, hastily prepared, rather unrefined for the occasion, and offering VERY little for vegetarians. Staff were hilariously unsure of the definition of the word ‘vegetarian’ thinking that vegetables should be included everywhere, rather than meet and fish being excluded. Service is ok but some staff are irritable, untrained, and out of their depth.

Very interesting place. I loved the devour and the ambient. The staff were concerned about if everything was good and would make amends if anything was wrong. Would come back another time when I'm in DR.

What a beautiful hidden gem in the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo! The decor and ambiance is breathtaking from the first step into their doors. It’s like a private oasis from the surrounding tourist traps. We came with a large group and ordered multiple things from the menu for everyone to try, and we were all pleased with the flavor of everything. A few of our favorites were the Croquettes Buche Perico, Fried Snapper Fish, and Ravioli de Salmon. The only downside of the experience was the wait to get our food. We were there for at least 3 hours and spent most of it waiting for food after placing our order. So, if you do come here, be sure to have several hours to spare. Otherwise, it was a great experience.

Buche Perico out did my expectations in everything except the drinks, which were ok. The food was wonderfully seasoned and presented, with the octopus tar tar as one of the best bites I've had all month. In addition, the atmosphere was great because of its open air feel, and the chill music.

This spot is SO worth the hype! First thing we noticed was how gorgeous the space is, as well as the friendliness of the staff. We sat in their patio, which had very comfortable seating. And the music was a fun mix of genres and of languages sung! The space is beautiful and the service was top notch, but the food truly was an intentional, respectful celebration of Dominican cuisine! The octopus tartare was divine and the octopus was perfectly cooked, but the dish needed more citrus. The angus quipes were incredible - crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. But the goat risotto was a true show-stopper! The rice was perfectly cooked, the goat was tender and juicy, and the flavors were balanced. This said, the risotto portion was a bit too large, so this dish lands on the heavier side. To drink, we both had the San Punch, a refreshing, balanced watermelon and gin drink. I can’t recommend this place enough, I look forward to visiting next time in I’m Santo Domingo!!

Amazing experience at Buche Perico. Service is great and so far the best food I had since I arrived in Dominican Republic. Appetizers : ceviche Polpo (my favorite dish - perfectly cooked) and fish croquette - also very tasty. Main course : risotto and chicken with coco and mango. So many different savory. Generous portions too. Reasonable price for the quality and quantity. Thank you so much, I will probably come back in few days!

The restaurant is beautiful on the inside as you can tell from multiple photos. Food was amazing as well. I had tried octopus ceviche and Tuna for main dish and they were both delicious. A star off for the service as well as the fact that the large fan was creating a lot of drift inside and after a while made me personally feel very uncomfortable with my ears.

Overall I love this place. Good place with nice atmosphere to enjoy Dominican food. I tried Cebiche which was nice. The grilled fish was not bad but too salty.

WOW! That’s the tweet. The way it feels like you’re in a greenhouse is to die for. They ventilate the space with fans only and it still feels comfortable and cool in there. Then we ordered the San Punch and they made it with fresh watermelon which was so juicy and refreshing! Then we got our food which WOW! They take classic Dominican cuisine and introduce new and refreshing takes on them that still honor the flavors of my homeland. Lastly, the service was amazing! Even though we were being attended to by one wait staff, other staff as they would walk by would talk when us and get whatever we needed. A true pleasure! I wish I could give this review more stars!

A delicious gem tucked off the main drag. The beautiful interior patio is fully covered but open and airy. Food is absolutely delicious, and great for sharing so you can try more things. Definitely recommend a reservation.

A stunning restaurant in Santo Domingo. We went for dinner and waited 10min to get a table on a monday night. Definitely worth the wait, the food is amazing, the restaurant is so beautiful and the town it's located in is safe and so much to do! Service was a little slow as we waited 15min before someone came to our table and no one around to get the check. Definitely a must try if your in the area. Hughly recomend the Passionfruit Ceviche!

The food and cocktails were great, the server was great, the interior was great, and the atmosphere was great! There was live music and dancing while I was there, which made the space much livelier on a Friday night.

I found the food to be ok in flavor and the place gorgeous. The drinks were below expectations. The flavor was on the safe side.for a tourist area, and the presentation of the plates were top chef 👨🏾‍🍳. It’s pricey and good vibes. I feel this is a place to show status and eat ok food.

I came here with my brothers. The food is absolutely delicious and the presentation and quality are impeccable. I don’t even know where to start. This is the BEST authentic food with a fine dining twist you’ll ever have here. The fish looked so good and tasted fresh. The chef came to the table and explained the food and then got our feedback after we finished eating. I highly recommend this restaurant. The plants inside looks beautiful and so peaceful. We ordered dessert for my brothers birthday. It was lovely. The staff are super nice

Excellent service & delicious food. Traditional with a twist. Our waiter was lovely. Best of all they don’t skimp on the alcohol in the drinks. Can’t wait to go back.

We had high hopes for this place based on previous reviews. The setting is lovely but unfortunately the service was a bit lacking. We were served a mediocre cheese plate, and a salad that was not the correct one. The waiter never came back to check so it was difficult to communicate our disappointment. The pumpkin ravioli was made extremely well so it is possible that the chefs know what they are doing but unfortunately their talents are mired by the lack of quality in service.

An oasis of tranquility just a few steps from the noisy tourist trail. Walls are alive with creeping green ivy. Delicious food, served quickly and with a smile.

I want to share with you all that this is not a restaurant that deserves 5 stars. It deserves a negative - 1. After being in the restaurant for about 30 mins to be seated, we were given time to place our orders. After, our waiter came to our table to provide his services we were later advised he was the general manager Merville. He was terrible. He quickly took our orders of appetizer/drinks and quickly rushed out of the table before we were able to place our entree order. He walked away from the table without saying a word and looked very bother. He rushed to hand of the tablet to another waiter. Who didn’t even approach our table, until 20 mins when I had to get up to speak to the front desk. It’s unfortunate that as guest we visit the restaurant because of it’s reviews and we received a short end treatment. We waited for our food, the plates were never removed even after our entrees came. There are so many other local restaurants to visit - please go else where. The manager was approached after the incident and he did admit he was at fault. All he had to say was we were unsure of our orders. That’s no excuse. Thank you - please enjoy your time somewhere we’re you are valued and appreciated.

The environment is okay (speaking on the back side seating) I went at night & although the fan is nice in the beginning and gives the place a refreshing look to it along with the plants. Me and my party became tired of how strong the breeze was. Place was pretty loud & our food came out cold & just imagine along with that fan, it did not help. Music was okay, the server was attentive and nice. This restaurant has a thing for adding sweetness to their plates which I am not a fan of but can say the chivo wonton was delicious. ** I want to add that the drinks were not great at all, way too sweet **

this place is really cool! lots of green, the food was pretty ok. i recommend the fresh Tuna, and or the ceviche! delish! and they have some interesting, non alcoholic beverages. some of the food they did not have in the menu, which was a bummer... so, maybe it was the really negative points.
