Unlike other versions of what seems to be a franchise this guy has really fresh and numerous options and a great and pristine operation. Had a great feta rice bowl salad. Will go back to check out the carnivore options soon.

You know how once in a while you find some food that has such an amazing flavor that you remember it, like for your whole life. I've got a few of these (ie: cheese sandwich from a small shop in Morro bay, CA). So the chicken pita sandwich here falls into that category. Incredible flavors, on a fresh pita. I think I need to try something else. Or maybe not.

Have been going here for almost 2 years. I always have the Chicken Pita and it never disappoints. Everyone who works there is very friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend going here!!!!

Wow! We came in here on a whim while walking around on Saturday night. No line, ordered through a kiosk without issue. I had the papous chicken pita and WOW. Absolutely perfect. So fresh, the chicken was divine and the sauce added to the greatness. The pita was a perfect vessel for the goodness inside. I ate the whole thing. My 5 year old loved the hummus as well. Happy to find a local, delicious, healthy restaurant. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

Just ordered here for my first time, got the papous chicken pita. Oh wow. That first bite had me thinking of the next time I’m going back. Very authentic(I do believe otherwise they have me bamboozled). Will definitely be going back often!

Everything about this place is fanrastic. Great pitas, salad, and hummus. We stopped by three days in a row. Highly recommend!

This food is incredible. I've been in Maine my whole life so for some dumb reason Greek food isn't huge around here.. until now. This place is incredible 5 star service, 20 star food, and 5 star atmosphere. The building has an old time feel with a modern clean approach and it's perfectly executed. I bring my whole family and the wait is always super reasonable, service is really personable. I think a lot of food places have really stepped up but others have become almost so burnt out they make not be as welcoming to kids and families. Not the case here, families are welcome and actually the owner is a really nice guy he gave my two sons candy bars multiple times which again is nice because having young kids... They aren't always exactly 100% welcome. The prices here are very fair, I have a family of 5 so I'm definitely a good gauge on price. Most good places we go, the bill is over 100$ easily with no alcohol because I really don't drink. I have ordered so much food here that we couldn't eat even half of it, and my bill was under $100 so to me.. that's affordable and value. Welcome to our community PLEASE NEVER LEAVE 🙏

Really torn on this one. While the flavor of the gyro rice bowl special was really good, I don’t think it was worth $17. It was a little small and there weren’t even any cucumbers, olives or feta on it. Add a few more ingredients or lower the price.

A friend suggested this place and I thought I'd give it a try. WellThe Greek food here is absolutely amazing. I had the papous chicken wrap and the dolmades and they were so delicious The staff is also wonderful and super friendly. I will definitely be returning here for another meal.

Save your money, it's not worth what you get. Food was tasty but was SO OVERPRICED. I got 2 pita wraps and drinks and it cost me $38.

The lamb/beef gyro was fairly tasty but quite greasy and hard to eat. I feel it was a bit overpriced for what you get. I will stick with my gyro from Dina's Cuisine in Portland for $8.50, it's a better value.

Difficult unfortunately. I really wanted to love this place but online ordering was a process and they no longer accept take out orders over the phone, when I got the text that my order was ready, it still wasn't ready, and when it was ready it was wrong. The guy behind the counter actually argued with me about not screwing it up until I brought up the invoice on my phone and showed him hr only gave me an appetizer and one wrap instead of the 2 wraps I paid for online. Check your orders before you walk out. Beyond that the food was fresh, very weak on flavor considering it's supposed to be Mediterranean, and overpriced for what you get. They'd probably be a lot busier if they sold those little pita wraps for $8 instead of $11.

We pulled off the road to eat at this place during a road-trip through Maine. I’m so glad we did! We figured since it had good reviews it was worth a shot. Well deserving of 5 stars. The pita sandwiches were amazing and the hummus was the best we’ve ever had. Great and quick service as well.

I’ve never liked olives before ordering them as an add-on to the pita bowl here, but this place made me love them. How do you do it?! I’m so impressed - I ate an entire bowl of meat and rice and veggies and this delicious food made me feel light on my feet and ready to go. It’s such a delicious place for some quick service and excellent meals.

Excellent pita place hidden in Kennebunkport. This location has seen a chowder shop and pizza place over the years! I was happy to see a place move in that offers a departure from the typical ocean side fare found in these small towns. The food was great and the owner was really nice as well! He offers three main options with different varieties on those options. He offers a pita, rice bowl, and salad. I got the chicken pita and my wife got the feta rice bowl. Both were amazing. His pita as a side is also worth getting.

I was searching for something different, I am very tired of the same old pizza place and the same old burger joint. They are on every corner. If you are looking for a change I dare you, no I double dog dare you to make Papous Pita your choice for lunch or dinner. The food was amazing, my pita was FULL of fresh food, and for a great price. We have found our new favorite place. Keep up the great work thank you very much.

When I was pregnant, I literally came to this place 3 times in one day once. The food is out of this world. And the service is even better. The staff are so incredibly friendly and welcoming. We live out of state and go out of our way to come here as often as possible.

This is some of the absolute best food I ever tasted. I got a chicken pita and I ended up deciding that the food was too delicious to have only once in my life (I don't live anywhere near here sadly) so I ended up deciding to order something for later. I had mentioned this and the person making my food offered to separate the sauce and vegetables so it would stay less soggy for longer. The people there was so nice and the food was amazing. I ordered a chicken pita, taziki dip with grilled pita chips, baklava, and a bowl abs pita for later and every item was delicious. Not only that our food was made very quickly.

Simply amazing, I have never had a gyro that good. I had their special, it was lamb and beef. 10/5 my taste buds were in heaven. Then, before I left, I noticed they had chocolates on the counter. I bought some for my fiance, and now I'll have to go back and get those at least monthly, if not weekly.

Just ate here for the first time. They allow you to order online but because I had a question about an ingredient I tried to call to ask, no one answered either time which was a little frustrating but decided to go in anyway. When I got there, I was asked to order on the tablet if I was paying with a card, so I asked my question and then put my order in (papous chicken pita with added rice and feta). The pita itself was only $10.99, the added rice only $1.50, but the feta was an extra $3.50! So total came to over $17 for just the pita (no drinks or sides). There was only 1 person ahead of me when I arrived so I didn't wait long. When I got my food, the pita was overflowing and had to start it with the fork. It was absolutely delicious and very filling. I would definitely go here again.

Don't know how this place has a 4.9. their food is bland and basic. Over priced. Gyro bowl didn't even have feta or cucumbers, it's just bland gyro meat, tomatoes, onions and rice. $17! Total rip off!

The food is fresh, delicious, and the service is very friendly. The prices are good for the area they're in, and definitely worth it. I have stomach issues and often times can't eat foods in restaurants either due to high content in oil, spices and various reasons, but we ordered the Mediterranean chicken rice bowl and Papous chicken pita sandwich and both were delicious. The baklava was perfect. The layers were crunchy, and the syrup blended well with the taste, a lovely compliment. My wallet did complain that the prices, especially for the can of coke were too high, but for good food and the portion size it's really not that bad. Enjoy !!

Came in not expecting much… wrong!!! Absolutely amazing lamb and beef gyro!!! ( They actually season their tzatziki…soooo yummm). The pita was warm and soft with a crispy outside from the grill… definitely the best gyro I’ve had ( besides my own😏). Super fast, too! Excellent!

Absolutely fantastic place for lunch. Everything is always fresh and cooked perfectly. I've had takeout from Papous, as well as food at the restaurant. It is always super delicious. I'll recommend this to anyone coming to the area.

Before they opened the only time I had authentic Greek food was in clear water Florida in little Greece and that was only by happenstance we were walking through looking at the shops I wasn't feeling great it had been awhile since I ate so I said let me grab something real quick and because it was my first time I didn't want to try lamb which I had never eaten before and not like it so I got a pork pita and it blew my mind it was one of the best things I've ever eaten we came back from that trip and for years I had been looking around for a Greek pita place not to far away when one day my friend told me about a new Greek place on main Street called Papous pita and I was like we gotta go! This time I didn't chicken out I got the special which is Lamb mixed with beef and it was amazing messy but so good! I have had the chicken a couple of times there but every time I get it I go man I should have gotten the lamb again while the chicken is solid if they have Lamb in stock because it's a special and not always available you have to get the Lamb while it's there you won't regret it I even had a mix up with credit cards ordering online one time he couldn't have been any nicer or more helpful with it great guy great food cant go wrong

My husband and I ordered takeout from Papous Pita last night and we still can’t get over how delicious it was!!! We are relatively new to this area and love Greek food and we were pumped to find out that Papous Pita is close by. My husband ordered the Mediterranean chicken rice bowl and I ordered the lamb rice bowl and both were scrumptious, along with the tzatziki and dolmades sides and the baklava. All of it was 11/10. If you like Greek food, Papous Pita is a must!

Epically awesome lamb and beef! Super tender and moist meat, the pita bread was light and toasty, fresh veggies, hands down best Greek food I’ve had.

I had a very pleasant experience with Papous Pita, from ordering to leaving the restaurant. I got the I ordered the Hummus Veggie Rice bowl. The food is very delicious and you won't be disappointed with what you get. I will definitely be returning soon.

Almost missed this place, had to turn around to check them out. AMAZING food, everything is very fresh and the portions are perfect. The way they grill and season the chicken is incredible, it's so juicy and flavorful without being overwhelming. The pita is crisp on the outside, and soft and delicious on the inside. Fresh veggies and sauce bring their wraps together perfectly. The greek yogurt was also an unexpectedly good dessert. It's very thick and rich, it makes for a light and satisfying treat when topped with fruit. Very friendly service, we'll definitely be coming back for more!

My friend and I were in town visiting as he wanted to check out Biddeford. I hadn't been around since the beginning of the pandemic so I was a little out of date regarding what was around. We were going to hit up another spot in Biddeford but when we got there, they were closed for the season. We had drove by and I noticed that there was a new restaurant that was below where my friends used to live. We decided to check it out. I have to say, Papous Pita is the best find I've experienced in years. I cannot say enough about how delicious the food is. There's plenty of great restaurants in the area but you should NOT sleep on this place. Seriously. Your life will be changed.

A great new addition to Biddeford. I like this place not just because of the variety it brings to a pretty bland area as far as food selection goes, but also for it's quality and service. Great food, made by kind folks who know now to nail down what makes greek food good. My favorite new place to grab some good food.

Just ate here for the first time. It absolutely won't be the last!! Outstanding food in a great location downtown. My wife got the Chicken Papous. I got the pork special of the day. Both had outstanding flavor. All of the ingredients are so fresh and the pita is amazing. We also got some of their baklava. This is the first time I've seen it rolled like they have it but it will stand against ant baklava you've had in the past. If you're thinking about trying this place, stop thinking and just do it!! You absolutely won't be disappointed. We cant wait to go back!

Excellent food! We were just strolling around and reading menus when we stumbled upon Palouse pita. It doesn’t come up on google search when you look for lunch in kennebunkport but host is very pleasant and food is delicious. Lobster pita is a must try. The home made youghurt is super as well.

The gentleman working at this restaurant was incredibly welcoming and kind. After my sister’s and I were eating and chatting for a while he came out and offered free samples of his Greek yogurt which was really nice of him (and delicious!). Interior is designed with white and blue shades that remind me of Mykonos, and most importantly the food is INCREDIBLE. I’m very impressed and I’m definitely going back. Highly recommend the Papous Chicken Pita!

Friendly service. We had the Dolamdes Pita and the Feta Pita. The pitas were both soft and crispy, and were absolutely stuffed with fresh veggies. For fast casual options in Kennebunkport, you can't do better.
