Such a beautiful course. Sits right in nature off the American River. Even though there are a ton of trees to fight through, the challenge is so fun. Love these old school classic courses where you can walk easily and not have to play between suburban track homes like most courses in Sac. One of the best courses in town!

This golf course is a hidden gem in Sacramento California! It sits among a lush landscape of hiking trails and lush vegetation. The course is old school with lots of trees and narrow fairways and small but fast greens. If you hit a good shot off the tee it might get knocked down by a tree if your shot is off by just inches but it could be thrown back in the middle of the fairway by said tree! If you play this course be prepared to put on your thinking cap because you will need to use your course management skills to score well. This course is a shot makers course and not a bomb it one. Also, expect to find plenty of wild like walking around like deer and coyotes. It is a beautiful golf course and very popular among golfers so be sure to make your tee time in advance.

The Ancil Hoffman Golf Course in Carmichael, California is in a beautiful location. It borders the American River, so big trees and natural foliage line the fairways, providing plenty of shade on sunny days, and wildlife sightings, like deer and squirrels are a common occurrence. The scenic environment makes for a very peaceful setting to enjoy a round of golf. A major advantage is its convenient location for myself and many in the Carmichael and Sacramento area, making it easily accessible to many golfers. However, this accessibility can lead to some downsides. Tee times can be limited at peak times, making it more difficult to book a slot, but if you make the drive and can’t get on right away, there are some nice walking trails down to the the river and almost nothing beats watching your worries wash away with the flow of a river. In summary, I really like the Ancil Hoffman Golf Course, not only for the pleasant golfing environment and convenient location, but for the feeling of spending an afternoon in the woods and by the river. I recommend it!

I played Ancil Hoffman Golf Course recently, and it’s in better shape than it’s been in years past. The greens are pretty good and running between 7-8. The staff there, however, is fantastic! I played with a disabled golfer, and everyone went out of their way to make sure that he was able to enjoy his round of golf. Thank you to everyone at Ancil Hoffman Golf.

First time playing here with a buddy. Great course, absolutely beautiful. Also pretty darn long. I will definitely go back soon. Great staff and the course is pretty well cared for.

There was a good vibe at Ancil. Check in was quick, Outside starter gets you going fast. The course was in great shape. It had just rained so it was soft fairways and fast greens. 19th hole was comfortable and well served.
