A must ' stop shop go' place for book lovers in Chandigarh. It is right in the heart of sector 17. Amazing collection of all types of books and literature and stationery. During my student days I would often spend hours browsing through the books in this shop and returning with a bag full of them.

The book shops says it was established in 1952, that's 70 years back. However, in all these years what hasn't be institutionalised is humbleness. Businesses that old tend to become more caring and giving because of the fact they owe their success and longetivity to customers but what I expereinced a few days back was just the opposite. I wanted to purchanse a large envelope but instead the salesman gave me a set of 5 envelopes saying that they don't sell single envelopes and I have to purchase the whole set. I told them I needed only one but they refused. I told them that I have been coming to their shop for more than 30 years but the owner very arrogantly said that doesnt matter they will not sell me one envelope and told me to buy from somewhere else. My point is if they had given me one envelope they could have kept the other four for other people who needed one or two envelopes. Guys, you have been in this business for 70 years, why are you so insecure? Can't you be more polite and helpful and cater to every need of customers? Yours is an established business and customers flock to your shop. Why so much insecurity and arrogance?

Whenever I visit Chandigarh, I can't escape from this wonderful showroom of English books. You can get novels, plays, motivational books, philosophical books, children's general books, maps, stationary and many more. I am a Book lover and I spend a lot of time in this book store. You should visit this store if you are interested in reading fantastic books. The staff is very humble and hardworking. Children should also visit this store to get interesting books.

The English Book Shop is situated at sector 17 and also at sector 21. The shop at sector 21 has variety of painting canvases, color shades, drawing and painting tools, decorative artifacts. You can search and order on their website and they deliver the items throughout India.

Bought a Parker pen on MRP without any discount and found that it’s not writing properly, when reached back to rectify they mentioned they can’t help as it’s not their responsibility. Most expensive shop of Chandigarh and they can’t help their customers, pathetic.

My favorite place in sector 17. The EBS ♥️♥️♥️ So many memories are there. You can buy a very good range of books especially English literature. You don’t really get 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐣𝐚𝐛𝐢 books here. They have limited range of Hindi literature as well. You can also buy stationery and art supplies here.
