It is a majestic Mosque. With a very large dome and praying capacity it stands as a great national heritage. The mosque was built by Iltumish, the ruler of Delhi Sultanate that time. This mosque reflects Persian and Afghan architecture. It has three gates: the main gate, facing Shakeel Road, is made up of red marble and stands 100 feet tall. The second gate is in Farshori Tola and the third one in Sotha. It has a central dome surrounded by two more domes, and 5 other domes too. The floor is made from white marble (SangeMarMar). It has a "Hauz"(pond) and three "WuzuKhana"(Washroom and sitting Room) on its premises. Two sides of mosque are occupied by residential blocks: the Jama Masjid Quarters. This mosque is the third oldest existing and second largest mosque of the country after Delhi's Jama Majid, having a standard capacity of 23500. The built up part of the mosque is larger than any other mosque of the country. Before the expansion of Delhi's Jama Masjid, it was the largest and most famous mosque of the country. The central dome of the mosque is considered to be the largest for any dome of mosque in the country. It is also a Monument of National Importance and a National Heritage Site.

The Jama Masjid or Great Mosque is a major mosque built in historic center of Budaun,Uttar Pradesh. The mosque was built by Iltutmish, the ruler of Delhi Sultanate that time. This is one of the oldest and largest mosques of India. Situated in Badaun district Uttar Pradesh. It was the largest mosque of India before the development of Jama Masjid, Delhi. Peculiar for its complete whiteness It is said to have the largest dome.

When Muhammad Ghuri Defeated the Pruthviraj Chauhan in 1192 (2nd Battle of Tarain) He left His salave Genral Qutubuddin Aibak In India & He stated the contribution of Two mosques in 1192 One in Delhi(Quwwat-ul-Islam masjid) & One in Ajmer(Adhai Din ka jhoda Masjid) both was completed in 1199 and two oldest mosque in India built by any muslim ruler. Mosque of In the Qutub Minar Complex is very dameged & a tourist place no one pray Namaz there, mosque of Ajmer is near Muinnudin chisti mazar and a little dameged people pray here 5 times. After these two this jama Masjid of Badaun is oldest mosque, built in 1210-25 by Iltutamish & only Major mosque built in 13th century in Entire India. It is also the oldest mosque in Utter pradesh so It's very special hope we understand the value of Precious Gem. By area it's the seventh largest Mosque in India & It's Dome is large but not larger than the Dome of jama masjid of Delhi.

I heard so many times about this magnificent And Glorious Jama Masjid of Budaun and after visiting the place I literally have no words to describe the actual image of this grand dimension. From more than 800 yrs this spiritual and imperial monument is still glorifying the true art of persian architecture constructed by Sultan Iltutmish.
