This is my warning to anyone staying here to check your bed sheets/pillows/blankets very well! Just stayed here over the weekend for one night with my boyfriend and our bed was infested with bed bugs. We had been laying down for a few minutes when I sat up to turn off the TV and noticed a small bug, and then another one. After I turned the lights on and started moving the blankets and pillows we realized it was full of bugs and small blood stains from the bugs feeding. Absolutely disgusting. We had to get moved to another room (we checked the bed thoroughly and it was clean thank god) but we still showered for several minutes in case they were in our hair/on our skin. WE had to suggest bagging our belongings up with garbage bags which I found alarming that they did not immediately suggest that to deter the spread of the bugs to our new room. To top it all off, the next morning when we went to the desk to speak with the manager and request a refund since this was literally one of the grossest things that has ever happened to us at any hotel, she (and a cleaning lady) claimed the room was checked and nothing was found. We were absolutely shocked that they seriously tried to tell us that because I had taken photos and videos of the bugs crawling around in the bed on my phone, which they requested and I sent to the manager and showed them at the desk. The manager on site said she needed to speak with HER manager regarding a refund so they gave us the run-around there. It's one thing not wanting to issue a refund, but then to try and gaslight your customer and tell them there was no bedbugs when we had physical proof otherwise it totally absurd. I sincerely hope they bug bombed the room that we stayed in and disinfected and inspected all the rooms close-by. Room number was 535 so if you stay there or anywhere close, CHECK YOUR BEDS! We had to completely disinfect all our belongings after leaving so we didn't bring any bugs home with us. We were very disappointed in the management and how they handled this situation. Definitely wouldn't recommend spending your money here.

I don't mind paying a lot when I get a nice room, breakfast and no hidden fees. I booked this room for one night for $201. It was a lovely room. The parking garage is gated and you need a room key to go to the room floors. Very secure and I felt safe traveling with just me and my daughters. But then you see that it's a $20 parking fee per night. Why is that not included in the room fee? I was bothered that it was never mentioned to me when I booked and I had to find out on my own after I got the bill. The breakfast was good, the rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. It was located walking distance from many restaurants, coffee shops and the children's museum.

Really nice stay . I am on business . Rooms and services meet expectations. This exact location has a parking garage at $20 / night. Sometimes the gates at the parking garage entrance do not work (new system is working out bugs). - area. I myself am unwilling to traverse the downtown area after dark. This being said there are lunch and dinner options within walking distance. I myself wouldn't drive it due to limited parking, naturally in a downtown zone. - overall nice place, competitive price, good service and secure area options. I am moving hotel to be closer to work. Thank you Home 2 for the accommodation.

Great location in downtown Tucson and very secure (both garage and elevator require key card entrance). The majority of staff were friendly. Nearby there are many popular attractions (e.g. the Fox Theater), restaurants, and bars/night clubs. Easily walkable to the light rail station which takes you directly to 4th avenue historical shopping district and the University of Arizona campus. Free breakfast (good variety of hot and cold items) and fairly good size seating area. The room was spacious and clean with a kitchen that includes: a microwave, dishwasher, toaster, a full size refrigerator and cutlery. The hotel offers a very secure paid parking structure built into the backside of the hotel with a roll down gate at the entrance and it has bright lighting. My mom felt safe walking from our car to the connected hotel entrance at night alone. There is a pool located on the rooftop that appears to be heated as we saw some people swimming at night. We also noticed some guests with dogs, as it appears to be pet friendly. Overall a very nice hotel with accommodations for a wide variety of guests.

Every Home Suites by Hilton have been wonderful. Includes full kitchen with full size refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, toasters, dishes , coffee makers, hairdryers, etc. Clean and large rooms with couches, beds, desks, tables, t.v.s. chairs, etc. Highly recommend you stay here.

Great location for the up and coming downtown Tucson. Parking was $16 per day and gate access only. The room keys wouldn’t work to open the gates so we had to use the help button. Several one way streets could make accessing parking a little difficult. Breakfast in the AM the the basic free breakfast items. Close to the convention center and several local downtown restaurants. Pool is no more than 4 feet deep. Grill located poolside for what looked like personal use. La Estrella Bakery items available for purchase at front desk. Double Queen suite was good size for my family of 6. Front desk staff a little unfriendly on check in. Would stay again.

Nice new place. Director of sales very nice. Front desk staff very nice. Parking very convenient and safe. Room and bathroom great. Only problems with stay were (a) outlets on south side of bed weren’t working, and (b) using a food delivery service is problematic since front desk staff won’t let delivery persons (Grubhub, etc.) up to rooms for delivery combined with the fact that front desk staff also won’t bring food to rooms. It’s not a problem to run down and get the food they leave in the lobby yourself — unless you’re in your pajamas, etc., but sometimes you are.

Easily the worst stay I've ever had at a Hilton property. Worst hotel experience in Tucson I've had. I've traveled to Tucson frequently for business over the last four years and this hotel is a STRONG AVOID. Despite it's "new" building, critical amenities are broken and the rooms have major privacy issues (people can see directly into your room). Do yourself a favor and book at the Hilton Doubletree Downtown literally across the street -- that is an exceptional brand-new facility with amazing service. The problems at this Home2Suites are deep and widespread -- not only with broken amenities, but also with its overall poor hospitality culture, in particular the management who is adversarial and dismissive with guests. Look at past reviews to see this is a longstanding issue mentioned in many reviews since opening. For longstay / business / Diamond guests, you had better hope nothing goes wrong during your stay. The refrigerator and parking gate were broken on arrival. Despite reporting the refrigerator issue, staff did not fix it which led to a weeks worth of lost groceries. Reported issue again that night and was told there was "nothing they could do until morning." No apologies. They declined swap with another fridge that night ("no engineering on site" and they can't move it themselves for some reason?). Manager declined to reimburse for groceries; provided 5000 Hilton points for inconvenience, worth about 1/7th one room night. Refused to do anything else when asked. Engineering is NOT on site at night or even some days, which significantly delays any repairs if anything breaks or needs to be swapped. Manager ghosts you when you ask to talk to her or for a callback. There's no responsibility taken by anyone at this property. Parking is $20/night despite broken garage gate (known for months, looking at past reviews) which checkin also acknowledged to me on arrival. The worst thing is that when you report any issues you are told they know about them but nothing gets fixed, or blamed for the issue yourself. I was lied to by management and dismissed whenever I communicated issues about the stay, when I finally got to talk with her (Patricia). They talk down to you and treat you with disdain rather than as a paying guest. Look at other reviews, it's clearly a known issue with this woman. For families, I would concern myself with huge privacy issues with any pool facing room -- other guests can see directly into your room (window is right over bed, see photo attached taken from bed) unless blackout shade are drawn. Privacy curtain is sheer and see through. Glass is not one-way or reflective -- anyone at the pool can see you in bed or changing. 3rd floor rooms are directly on level of pool so anyone can see your entire room. I travel into Tucson regularly for business and typically stay at a Hilton property. During these travels, I've stayed at dozens of different Hiltons of varying levels. This Home2Suites has been a huge outlier and a overall terrible experience. I am cancelling my future travel and plans with them (it's too bad since on paper they look really appealing). Giving all my business to Doubletree Downtown across the street. I hope to never deal with this management team again.

What a beautiful hotel. This was a much welcome respite for my family after a long day of travel. We had three young kids with us and a cat and found our room wonderfully accommodating. The kids loved the roof top pool. We loved the ability to walk to get food and then a quiet, comfortable room for the night. The staff were all great and it was impeccably clean.

Great location, friendly staff, rooms are nice for the price. The only complaint I could have is that their pillows are terrible quality and collapse as soon as you touch them- highly recommend you bring your own if possible, and the floors are extremely dirty. Walking around the room getting ready to go out, my feet were black like I had walked on asphalt. Would definitely stay here again though!

I love this hotel, it's not only in downtown Tucson, it's clean, modern, staff are always polite and respectful. You can add parking to your room for an extra 16.00 and a yummy breakfast is included with your stay. We stay here whenever we want to go out, and we walk to wherever we want to go, or Uber if it's a little further. I give this hotel 5 🌟 and recommend this hotel to anyone, it's pet friendly and has amazing views!!!

Was confused by the 2 in 1 property idea (both Home2 Suites and Hampton Inn share the same location). Front desk staff checking us in/out, appeared to be young new hires; they were slow to process the guest check-in/outs. The parking garage is gated, however, it appears anyone can pull a ticket to get in/out without an active hotel room key card. We did need our room key to get to our floor which was an added security benefit I enjoyed. The property (not sure if one or both) is/are pet friendly so there were a few dogs and their handlers roaming around. I loved that the pool area had two full size BBQ grille’s, outdoor seating for a large party, lounge chairs in the shallow end of the pool. The pool appeared to only be about 3feet deep, so I guess that makes it a large kiddie pool? The artificial grass is used as a pet relief area so beware of your kids are running around barefoot. The view of the cathedral from the pool area is lovely. Our Home2 room was spacious and comfortable, but the shower water didn’t ever get hot. Perhaps lukewarm is the “scold-proof” setting. It was about 60 degrees out so a hot shower would have been refreshing. Breakfast options were typical and just okay. Nothing out of the ordinary. There was an attendant, cleaning behind guests that served themselves breakfast food/drinks which was nice. Some people are just messy and with the attendant, things stayed sanitary and well stocked. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

Spacious suite - loads of counter space, very nice kitchen amenities. Great location and even very close to a park and dog-friendly inside and out. Very cool remote for the TV and easy to control room temperature.

Hotel in downtown Tucson with modern. The room had a large comfy king sized bed and a large bathroom. It was very clean and nicely decorated with nice touches like southwest color/decors. They serve small breakfast from 6am to 10am. The property also has a gated parking garage for $16/night.

We were able to check in early but my brother-in-law had to wait. Rooms were very clean, very quiet and complimentary breakfast was a cut above the rest. Located downtown, 2 blocks away from trolley line.

Absolutely the WORST experience. I stayed with my sister this pass weekend and it was such an unpleasant stay. We checked in Friday and the manager Patricia kept telling us the card was declined even after the funds were taken out of the acct. This was a debit card so the funds are automatically released. The employee even took a picture of the funds taken out of the accounts and sent it to Patricia. However, Patricia called her employees Sunday and told them we needed to provide another card or leave the premises since the card was still declined. When I requested to speak with the manager on the phone as one of the employees was talking to her she refused to speak with my sister and said I don’t need to speak with her. What kind of customer service is this?! Especially for a Hilton that is ridiculous if you’re a manager aren’t you supposed to make things right for your guest? The hotel itself was very clean and modern but the amount of people at the pool partying with very loud music was not enjoyable at all. Hopefully, they’ll get better management here otherwise I’m sure more negative reviews will follow soon. Please retrain your general manager to have better customer service and show some empathy towards your guest. This gives Hilton a VERY bad reputation.

Our stay was great! The rooms were clean, staff was friendly, and the pool was wonderful. The rooms felt brand new (the entire place did actually.) Breakfast was a nice touch! I love hotel waffles and these were in a different level. If you like to workout, you will be so impressed with the workout area. The equipment is new and clean. I had the whole place to myself at 530am. I would defiantly recommend

We were very happy with our stay here. The rooms were large, clean, modern and had many conveniences. The included breakfast is the breakfast to which every other hotel will be measured. We were walking distance to the convention center and the parking garage was very secure. Definitely will stay here again next time we are in Tucson.

You should tell people the Hotel parking garage is $20 a day. Hidden charges like this are just seedy and lower the impression of your otherwise fine facility.

This is a very nice, reasonably priced downtown hotel in Tucson. The rooms were large and clean. It is close to the UofA campus which was my goal. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this area.

I’m sure the rooms are nice here. But the staff — inexcusably rude. I’m a Hilton Honors member. I try to stay at Hilton hotels when possible because they’re clean and have a great value. We went to visit the beautiful Catholic church across the street only to find their restrooms locked. It was 105 degrees outside, we’d already walked all the way around the church to find a restroom, no dice. I thought, “Oh perfect! A Hilton property across the way.” Went in, used the lobby restroom, started to head out. The woman at the front desk… who is assisting other customers at the time, shouts at us across the lobby, “Excuse me! Are you paying guests?!” I said, “No, we just needed to use the restroom.” She continues her meltdown, “That restroom is for paying guests!” I said, “Okay… we’re not paying guests, but I am a Hilton Honors member and we just needed to pop in and use the restroom.” She says, “That doesn’t matter. That restroom is for paying guests only.” I said, “Okay… well we already used the restroom, I’m not sure what you want us to do.” She said, “I’m telling you it’s for guests only.” I said, “Again… we already used it. We don’t plan to be back. So I’m not sure exactly what you want us to do at this point.” She reiterates again that it’s for guests only, that’s her point. I said, “Okay, well there isn’t much I can do at this point,” and left. Embarrassed to be yelled at like we had just shoplifted in front of other guests. No sign anywhere telling us not to use their public restroom in the lobby. We’re obviously not the type to go in and shoot up or take a spit bath in the restroom… so I don’t understand your endgame, honey. It was as if she felt the need to try to flex what little power she had in her life at that moment and it was inappropriate and inexcusable. Tucson is already not the nicest or cleanest city in Arizona, that was the cherry on the poop sundae for our trip to do sightseeing here. Go to the AC Marriott nearby instead. (Management, if you’d like to replay your lobby tapes, it was at 1:45 PM on 8/11/2023 and if that’s truly the case, put up a sign and put a lock on the doors so only guests can get inside when they’re about to piss themselves like we were.)

I can deal with the fact that the rooms are dusty and have old dried up shampoo and conditioner on the bathroom wall, but they STOLE my wedding bands.... but there's no proof.. nice of them to send back the other things out of my toilet bag, but not the rings. *I would not even consider writing this if I weren't 100% positive of my rings exact location. It was our fault that we forgot our bag, but that's not a green light for theft. I would never put that bad karma on myself and chance being wrong if I weren't sure.

Stayed for a convention in town. It was a very short and convenient walk to the TCC. The room was comfortable, clean, well equipped for us and grandkids. The pool was very nice and an enjoyable asset. The breakfast area was also very nice with nice selections. The front desk staff for the most part was courteous and helpful.

We have become big fans of this brand of hotel largely because they are pet friendly. This particular hotel is one of our favorites. It is conveniently located near family for us, but the rooms are large, and the views of the church and A mountain are beautiful. The staff is always friendly, but the breakfast is always a hit and miss.

This is perfect spot for the downtown experience. Its within walking distance to the bars and restaurants. We stayed for the 4th of July and had a great view of the fireworks. The rooms are large and the beds and pillows are very comfy.

This hotel is in a central part of Tuscon and very convenient to a lot of things. My room was spacious, and on the whole, very clean and contemporary. My only slight criticism is that it felt almost sterile, utterly generic, and devoid of any distinguishing characteristics. I certainly recommend this for those who want a clean, comfortable place to stay. I also found the breakfast buffet satisfying. If you want local character and flavor stay elsewhere. If you want a reliable place to visit with no surprises, this is for you.

Might as well stay at a motel 6. You would probably get a better stay. 5 days no room cleaning . no freezer in fridge for all of us who work. Electricity goes off all the time if you use microwave. Management just says come down to kitchen if you need to warm food. Really?. You call this a suite. Just a room at way overpriced rates. Try another hotel. Dylan

Beautiful hotel in great location. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. Hotel access from parking ramp. Bedroom has door to separate it from kitchen and living space. Bathroom is accessible from bedroom and kitchen. Did not like that you can't turn the thermostat lower than 68 and none of the windows open.

  • 4/5 Ian C. 1 year ago on Google
Overall, decent hotel centrally located. Breakfast service was excellent. Room was clean. Elevators are glitchy and call buttons aren't synced. My main complaint is that I was charged $16/night for parking. That should be included when a customer pays $300/night for a room. Otherwise probably 5 stars.

I've stayed here 2 nights in April 2023 and there were some pros and cons. My husband is active military and Hilton honors, so he was able to collect points on this stay, but he had to ask them to be applied. The staff was alright, they seem tired or not enthusiastic, friendly or informed about much. I asked questions about staying late, which couldn't be honored, about places nearby which the front desk clerk didn't know. The breakfast was disappointing. Oatmeal and apples, waffles, turkey sausage, western omelets and bread was offered. The oatmeal was gummy, the fuit warm and those who like cheese, peppers in their eggs would like it. I was hoping for more options. The turkey sausage was lukewarm and tasted as it was reheated from a week prior. Parking was safe and accessible, worth the extra $17 a night to park. Gym was nice, but no towels or water options. The elevators get a lot of work, as they are slow in moving. The bed is the same firmness as the military barracks. I can attest to that personally. Bathroom was clean, nice modern decor. The location was great, within walking distance of restaurants, bars, stores. The pool was nice, but too windy to truly enjoy it- not the staff fault. Would I come here again? I'll research others options first.

If you like bed bugs, rooms that smell like pee, and incredibly apathetic and disinterested staff and management, this is the hotel for you! Before we left, the manager arrived. I spoke to her. Here’s a transcript of our interaction. Manager: good morning. How can I help you? Me: we found bedbugs in our room. Manager: okay. (Blinks a few times) **a few seconds of awkward silence*** Me: does this not concern you? Manager: (irritated and defensive) sir, I can’t do anything until the exterminator gets here and I will put a call into them. I just gave up at this point, because what can you do when it’s hopeless?

Breakfast is better than most, not great but better than expected. The rooms and everything where very nice and clean. Taking off one star because the dishes were dirty, really dirty, like orange soup stains in one bowl and 2 glasses stuck/glued down with some sticky stuff… maybe they just forgot to check the dishes because everything else was clean and nice.

The hotel is modern, comfortable and has an excess of amenities that allow for a pleasantly long stay. But the real treat here for us was the staff. We needed to extend our reservation and both front desk staff and management worked with us and went above and beyond to help us through a difficult moment. I can't say thank you enough for your help. 5 stars all the way! Thank you!

Interesting location withing walking distance of everything downtown but off of the main arteries. We arrived at night and were initially put off by the darkness and gloominess of the neighborhood (City of Tucson really needs to invest in some modern street lighting). I was also surprised by the $16 per night fee for parking, but it is a downtown urban area and we were happy to have our car parked safely inside the hotel garage. I was also a bit disappointed to find that our preferred bed combination was not available. We stay with this chain quite often and we normally get the suite with two queen beds. This time all they had was one queen so that meant that my two (rather large) teenagers had to sleep together on the pull out sofa bed. On the good side of things, it was an excellent hotel, the rooms were clean and neat and the free breakfast was excellent. The dining area was very modern and airy and the food was very well presented. The gym was also neat and clean with all the expected exercise equipment although I was a little surprised to find no towels or water available. Not a big deal but a little inconvenient having to go back to my room to refill my water bottle. Upon leaving the hotel in daylight hours, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was located right off (one block) one of the main streets of the downtown area. Plenty to see and do there and it was also close to the University. For a last minute trip with little to no planning or research it turned out pretty well. Its hard to go wrong with Home 2 Suites and this one was definitely up to Hilton standards.

Would have gotten 5 stars but the bed was hard as a rock. New facilityvwith excellent service in all areas and convenient on-site parking for 16.99 a night. Worth the security!!! Breakfast was good! I'd go back again despite the bed...

Hotel is very nice looking and rooms are great. For me having the option for a late check out even if paying a fee is important. I would not recommend if you are hoping to have that option. I understand that late checkout is not garounteed and the previous shift said that likelihood of a late checkout being granted was high, sadly I was disappointed.

Such a great modern clean space. The staff superwonderful, friendly, they gave us tips and knew the area as opposed to other Hiltons staff. I got locked out of my room several times(sneaking out early am from sleeping family to work out). Each time I needed a new card the staff were sweet, and did not make me feel like a idiot. Breakfast options alternated days and always clean.friendly service by Daniel.convenient downtown location but nice and quiet. The staff made the difference!

I absolutely love this hotel! I always stay at home 2 suites but this one is by far the best. I need to call Paris & tell her they snapped on this one. I’m staying in the king studio /fitness suite. There’s a workout station in my room with really nice equipment.. some brand new unopened. There’s even a Peloton in here!!! Alyssa & Gabriella were great at assisting me with checking in & extending my reservation. Only reason they got 4 stars is the fact that no one has swept around the workout equipment. I’ve attached pictures.. which don’t really do justice to the filth in the area! That’s why I never leave home without Lysol wipes but they even have wipes to clean the equipment in here!!

It really is two hotels in one. The Home suites part is the higher end... Or so it seems. The rooms were incredibly clean. Tons of space. Great layout. The breakfast is the Hampton Inn type, egg option, veggies and a meat in the hot area, waffles, juices etc. The whole facility was incredibly clean and the employees were friendly. Parking is onsite. It is an additional charge. There were chargers for electric vehicles. I only saw 2 but not sure if there were others on other levels of the parking structure. Great place to stay. Would stay here again over and over.

This hotel is beautiful and convenient. The finishings are top notch. The pool has lounge chairs IN it (but 3’ is the deepest section). Nice breakfast and very secure with roll up garage doors and scanning your room card to go up to your floor…

friendly staff! The girls were very welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were a bit smaller than expected but clean and updated. The pool was great, a bit chilly, and unfortunately no hot tub! Overall we enjoy our stay. The location was great.

2 minor issues, OK minor for me, had to fix the shower door on its track so it would close and there was a piece is trash in the can. Outside that, the ability to control the thermostat and lights from the TV or phone as handy. Spacious room and nice kitchenette. Oh and breakfast was surprisingly delicious every day. Walking distance to lots of great restaurants. Parking garage you pay for but it's secure and attached to the hotel.

Traveling for work. Subpar downtown location. Front desk extremely rude and doesn't seem to make much of an effort to improve guest's stay or comfort. They don't clean rooms (even if you ask for housekeeping). The most they offer is extra towels. Certainly didn't appreciate customer loyalty to a brand (I am Hilton Honors Diamond). Paid parking in a garage with limited spots available. Wifi is poor unless you pay for enhanced (I was comp'd due to status). Certainly would recommend staying elsewhere - on the East side of 210 if you want to stay downtown as there is much more to do from an entertainment standpoint. The rooftop pool and the view from the pool are both nice. 2/5 stars.
